Abstract

Abstract

Tukak lambung merupakan kerusakan jaringan mukosa, sub mukosa sampai lapisan otot lambung. Salah satu penyebabkan tukak lambung yaitu hipersekresi asam lambung sehingga terjadi kerusakan mukosa.

Abstract

High blood sugar levels can be influenced by several factors, including high-carbohydrate food consumption and a lack of physical activity. To minimize the side effects of hyperglycemic treatment, efforts have been made to explore anti-hyperglycemic compounds from other sources, such as durian peel (Durio zibetthinus Murr.). This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of ethanol extract from durian peel in lowering alloxan-induced blood sugar levels in Wistar rats (Rattus novergicus). The study is an experimental research employing an alloxan-induced diabetic rat model. The rats were divided into five different groups: Group I (negative control), Group II (positive control), Group III (dose 25 × 10–30/gBW), Group IV (dose 50 × 10–30/gBW), and Group V (dose 100 × 10–30/gBW). The durian peel used in this study was extracted using the maceration method with ethanol as the solvent. The results of this study indicate that ethanol extract from durian peel significantly reduced blood sugar levels after 10 to 15 days of durian peel extract administration (p < 0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze the effectiveness of moringa flower extract on the liver function of male wistar strain white rats obesity model and how the histopathological picture. This research is a type of experimental quantitative research using post-test only group design. This study used test animals in the form of male white wistar rats with a body weight of 200-300 gr aged 2-3 months. The test animals were divided into 4 groups, the control group was only given regular food and distilled water, the treatment group was given high-fat food and Moringa flower extract at different doses, namely 200 mg / kgBB, 400 mg / kgBB, and 600 mg / kgBB. The results of the phytochemical test showed that moringa flower extract contains secondary metabolites in the form of saponins, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, and steroids. The administration of moringa flower extract at a dose of 600 mg/KgBB is effective in improving liver function in obese Wistar white rats. This improvement can be seen through the levels of ALT, AST, and histological structure of the liver that has improved. The results of histopathological observations of liver tissue in treatment group 3, namely moringa flower extract at a dose of 600 mg/KgBB, experienced the most significant improvement and approached the control group compared to other groups.

Abstract

Gagatan harimau or Paraboea leuserensis B.L. Burtt is an endemic plant that grows in limestone areas, natively found in Leuser Mountain Area, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This study determines the wound healing potential of P. leuserensis gel-based ethanolic extract (PGEE) on full-thickness excision wounds based on the angiogenesis and VEGF expression. Here, we reported 67 compounds detected by LC-MS/MS from the ethanolic extract. The antibacterial activity regarding pathogenic wound infection was also investigated. The experimental study used 30 Rattus novergicus, randomly divided into five treatment groups: base gel as a negative control, Bioplacenton as a positive control, PGEE 2.5%, 5%, and 10%. Experimental data showed that PGEE indicated a significant effect on bacterial inhibition (p = 0.02), where the greatest inhibitory was found against S. epidermidis. Topical application of PGEE showed significant differences in the number of blood vessels of PGEE 2.5% and 10% (p = 0.007) and expression of VEGF (p<0.05). The correlation between the number of blood vessels and VEGF was also described with the number of macrophages, fibroblasts, collagen, and wound diameter. Overall, this study demonstrates the pharmacological potential of PGEE for wound healing applications regarding angiogenesis and VEGF expression.
