Abstract

Open wounds are a type of wound that is exposed to air due to skin damage without or accompanied by damage to the underlying tissue. Types of open wounds are abrasions (abrasion or excoriation), incised wounds or incised wounds (vulnus scissum), torn wounds (laceration or vulnus laceratum), stab wounds (vulnus punctum), bite wounds (vulnus morsum), gunshot wounds, burns (combustion). Early childhood are those who are in their growth period. During their growth period, it is not uncommon for them to be very active and explore new things. While exploring, some of them may fall, slip, get scratched and get wounds on their hands, foreheads or feet. The aim of community service is to provide education to the public about the types and procedures for initial treatment of wounds, as well as things that must be done and what must be avoided so that wound healing can be maximized. The method used is socialization and health education on the first treatment of open wounds in early childhood using observation and approaches through pre-test and post-test. The results achieved show that children's knowledge has increased and they know the steps for dealing with open wounds, which was proven during the question and answer session, children were able to mention how to handle open wounds in the correct order. The conclusion is that socialization of appropriate initial treatment is very necessary to prevent complications and speed up the wound healing process.

Abstract

Stroke is a medical emergency because it is time-related and requires fast, precise and careful treatment. Optimal management can prevent death and permanent disability. One strategy to increase awareness of stroke attacks can be done through education in the form of audiovisual methods which contain information about early detection of stroke. The aim of this research is to find out the influence of FAST method education on nurses' knowledge in early detection of stroke. This research is quantitative research using pre-experimental design. The type of test used is the Wilcoxon test with the research results being the pre test. The conclusion of this research is. There is an influence of FAST method counseling on nurses' knowledge in early detection of stroke with a value of P = 0.000. The results of this research can add information and input for health workers to improve the quality of health services in preventing strokes.

Abstract

Low knowledge and wrong perceptions about family planning and contraceptives cause women to be afraid of using contraceptives. This is an indicator of high maternal mortality rates, especially in countries with high population growth rates but with low contraceptive prevalence. Providing video-based media as an audiovisual medium can help as a way to convey effective information to increase public knowledge. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of video-based media on the knowledge of family planning acceptors about the importance of family planning in the Puskesmas work area. This research uses a quantitative type of research with an experimental design research method, namely pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. Sampling used a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by conducting a non-parametric statistical test, namely the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The research results showed that it was accepted, which means that there was an influence of video-based media on the knowledge of family planning acceptors about the importance of family planning. The conclusion in this research is that there is an influence after providing video-based media on the knowledge of family planning acceptor mothers about the importance of family planning in the work area of the Community Health Center.
