Abstract

Community empowerment in the context of health has become a significant focus of efforts to improve overall public health. Increasing public knowledge and health awareness is this empowerment's primary goal. Through various methods such as health education, active community participation, use of information technology, resource support, and continuous evaluation, empowerment efforts aim to create an environment where people are more aware of the importance of health and have sufficient knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their health. The results of this empowerment include improved healthy living behaviours, reduced health disparities, increased access to equitable health services, and the development of more independent and empowered communities. By strengthening community empowerment, it can be expected that overall public health will improve, and creating a society that is more health-conscious and able to contribute to maintaining health together can create an environment where people are more health-conscious, have enough knowledge to make good decisions regarding their health, and actively contribute to maintaining health together

Abstract

This community service program aims to increase public awareness and participation in blood donation activities through education and the regular implementation of blood donation. Adequate blood availability in blood transfusion units is critical to saving lives, but community participation in blood donation is still low in some areas. Through this activity, counselling was carried out to the community about the benefits of blood donation, health requirements, and the importance of blood donation continuity for medical emergency needs. This program collaborates with the Indonesia Red Cross (PMI) and local health facilities to organize routine blood donation activities every three months. It is hoped that with this program, community participation in blood donation will increase significantly, and sustainable awareness about the importance of sharing and helping others through blood donation will be created. The results of this activity were measured through an increase in the number of blood donation participants and an evaluation of community knowledge after counselling was carried out

Abstract

Introduction Preschoolers are a group that is vulnerable to malnutrition. Inadequate nutritional conditions at this stage of development can seriously impact their growth, development, and long-term health. Therefore, proper handling and appropriate dietary strategies are essential to improving the nutritional status of preschoolers. Objective presents an overview of diets that can improve nutritional status in preschoolers. Methods: This type of research is a quantitative cross-sectional study approach. The population in this study was preschool-age children (3-6 years) found in Kanita Tiara Islamic Kindergarten, which amounted to 78 children obtained by totality or using the whole sampling method. Collection of information using food frequency questionnaires and mechanical measurements. Results show that p = 0.015 < p = 0.05, meaning a relationship exists between diet and nutritional status in preschool-aged children. Conclusion: Diet affects nutritional status in preschool-aged children. Dietary strategies applied to preschoolers should pay attention to their nutritional needs and environmental factors that affect their diet. With a holistic and sustainable approach, it can be expected that the nutritional status of preschoolers can be improved, providing a solid foundation for their optimal health and development.
