Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition in which the frequency of bowel movements becomes abnormal, which is usually 1 x a day, to more than 3 x a day with a liquid stool consistency and usually accompanied by mucus and blood. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of toddlers with acute diarrhea at the Antang Health Center. This type of research is descriptive research using a cross-sectional approach, the results of which are only an illustration. Statistical analysis was conducted to describe the characteristics of each patient using descriptive frequency test. The results of the study prove that exclusive breastfeeding contains antibodies needed to defend against pathogens in toddlers suffering from acute diarrhea at the Antang Health Center, the majority of whom are female, aged 1-2 years, have a history of exclusive breastfeeding, with a last education of junior high school and low family income. It is hoped that this study will be a source of information for the local Health Office and Health Center to reduce the incidence of acute diarrhea.

Abstract

Community empowerment in the context of health has become a significant focus of efforts to improve overall public health. Increasing public knowledge and health awareness is this empowerment's primary goal. Through various methods such as health education, active community participation, use of information technology, resource support, and continuous evaluation, empowerment efforts aim to create an environment where people are more aware of the importance of health and have sufficient knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their health. The results of this empowerment include improved healthy living behaviours, reduced health disparities, increased access to equitable health services, and the development of more independent and empowered communities. By strengthening community empowerment, it can be expected that overall public health will improve, and creating a society that is more health-conscious and able to contribute to maintaining health together can create an environment where people are more health-conscious, have enough knowledge to make good decisions regarding their health, and actively contribute to maintaining health together

Abstract

This community service program aims to increase public awareness and participation in blood donation activities through education and the regular implementation of blood donation. Adequate blood availability in blood transfusion units is critical to saving lives, but community participation in blood donation is still low in some areas. Through this activity, counselling was carried out to the community about the benefits of blood donation, health requirements, and the importance of blood donation continuity for medical emergency needs. This program collaborates with the Indonesia Red Cross (PMI) and local health facilities to organize routine blood donation activities every three months. It is hoped that with this program, community participation in blood donation will increase significantly, and sustainable awareness about the importance of sharing and helping others through blood donation will be created. The results of this activity were measured through an increase in the number of blood donation participants and an evaluation of community knowledge after counselling was carried out

This study aims to determine patient satisfaction with public health nurse services. This type of research uses quantitative research with a cross-sectional study approach, which seeks to analyze variables in accordance with the research objectives, namely patient satisfaction with public health nurse services. The population in this study was all nurses, and it was contained in a structure of 35 people. The sampling technique in this study used the total sampling technique with a sample of 35 respondents. The data analysis method uses bivariate with the chi-square test. The results of the statistical tests showed competence with a p-value of 0.491, work ethics: 0.000, and work discipline 0.046. The conclusion is that patient satisfaction is influenced by ethics and work discipline in providing health services, and patient satisfaction is not influenced by competency certificates. It is recommended that nurses have the ability to implement their skills and knowledge to create excellent health services for patients.

Abstract

Diarrhoea is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide, including in Indonesia. The magnitude of the problem can be seen from the high rate of pain and death due to diarrhea. The study aims to determine mothers' knowledge and attitudes about treating diarrhea in children. Experimental quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The results showed that the level of knowledge was less than 25 people (62.5%), and the negative attitude category was 29 people (72.5%). It can be concluded that they suffer from diarrhea, while parents with good knowledge regarding managing diarrhea tend to have their children not suffer from diarrhea. Recommendations are expected to provide information for local health offices and puskesmas in overcoming diarrhea problems; this is valuable information to carry out programs to improve public health, especially diseases in children.

Abstract

Nutritional status in children under five is an essential indicator of a child's health and development. Good nutrition at this age is crucial because children are experiencing rapid growth and development during this period. This study aims to determine the factors related to nutritional status in children under five—a type of quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The number of samples used in this study was 43 toddlers using purposive sampling techniques. The results of statistical tests obtained a value of 0.038 for maternal age, 0.405 for occupation, and 0.600 for knowledge of maternal nutrition. It can be concluded that there is no relationship between nutritional status in children under five and maternal age, occupation, or knowledge. The nutritional status of children under five is an important issue that is influenced by several factors, including the mother's age, the mother's occupation, and the mother's knowledge of child nutrition. The mother's age can affect the success of breastfeeding practices and nutritional knowledge. The mother's work plays a role in family time and resource availability. The mother's knowledge of child nutrition influences food selection and feeding practices. Handling the nutritional problems of children under five requires a holistic approach that involves all relevant parties, including the government, health institutions, and the community
