Abstract

Abstract: In learning process, teachers often ignore students’ initial knowledge. Students are not given the opportunity to rediscover and construct their own mathematics ideas. Classroom learning activities are often boring. It can affect students' learning motivation. The low learning motivation of students towards mathematics subject influences students’ learning outcomes. For this reason, learning innovation is a crucial matter. PMRI approach is offered as a solution which learning process is done outside the classroom with a game, learning that links mathematics material with everyday life context, and learning that views students as active participants. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of outdoor learning with PMRI approach in SPLDV material. The subjects in this study are students of class VIII-C of State Junior High School (SMPN) 4 Lamongan and teachers who carried out learning. It is descriptive research with one shot case study design. The results reveal that the teachers’ ability in managing learning with PMRI approach is effective, because each observed aspect is included in good/very good category. Students’ activities during learning process with PMRI approach are effective because every aspect of students’ activity is categorized in the range of effectiveness. Students' classical learning completeness is good, which is shown by 83% of students fulfilling KKM. So, it can be concluded that outdoor learning with PMRI approach in SPLDV material is effective..Keywords: Effectiveness, Outdoor Learning, PMRI, SPLDV.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa MA berkemampuan matematika tinggi dalam pemecahan masalah soal persamaan lingkaran berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan data utama tentang keakuratan, kelengkapan, dan kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis berupa kata-kata tertulis. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 2 siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi kelas XI MIPA MAN 1 Lamongan yang terdiri dari satu siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya sedikit perbedaan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan. Keakuratan dan kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi adalah sama-sama akurat dan lancar untuk setiap informasi yang disampaikan. Kelengkapan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi adalah lengkap untuk setiap informasi yang disampaikan sedangkan siswa laki-laki hanya tidak lengkap untuk menggunakan aturan.

Abstract

The problem solving abilities of students who are still lacking need to be reviewed further based on Discovery Learning and student learning styles. The subjects of this study were 15 students of class X Accounting SMK NU 05 Babat. Data collection was carried out through learning style questionnaires, problem solving ability tests, and interview guidelines. The subjects of this study were identified the type of learning style using Kolb's learning style questionnaire. Data about problem solving abilities were analyzed from the results of problem solving ability tests then described with the results of interview data. 8 students consisting of 2 students in each type of learning style were selected to interview their problem solving abilities. The results of this study indicate that of 15 students of class X SMK NU 05 Babat shows that: 1) there are 2 students who have a converger learning style, 6 students have a diverger learning style, 3 students have an accommodator learning style, and 4 students have an assimilator learning style; 2 ) most diverger students in class X Accounting SMK NU 05 Babat, rather than converger, accommodator, assimilator and converger students; 3) assimilator students are able to understand theory; 4) good accommodator students in carrying out plans; 5) students are diverger with creative and imaginative abilities; 6) converger students are good when there is a single correct solution of a problem and they can be centered on a particular problem or situation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 6 siswa kelas XI MIPA MAN 1 Lamongan yang terdiri dari satu siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keakuratan dan kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi adalah akurat dan lancar. Kelengkapan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa perempuan berkemampuan matematika tinggi adalah lengkap sedangkan siswa laki-laki hanya tidak lengkap untuk menggunakan aturan. Keakuratan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki berkemampuan matematika sedang adalah akurat untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya serta membuatkan kesimpulan sedangkan siswa perempuan adalah akurat untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya serta membuatkan gambar/sketsa. Kelengkapan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika sedang adalah hanya lengkap untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya. Kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika sedang adalah lancar. Keakuratan dan kelengkapan komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika rendah adalah hanya akurat dan lengkap untuk menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanya. Kelancaran komunikasi matematika tertulis siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan matematika rendah adalah tidak lancar.

Abstract

Abstract: In mathematics learning, communication and problem solving are very important goals. To obtain information about that, a good assessment method is needed in the form of rubrics in each test. According to Danielson (1997), it is more appropriate to use analytical rubrics because the information obtained about students' strengths and weaknesses is clearer. This study aims to describe the development process and obtain a valid, practical and effective analytical rubric. This development relies on the Plomp (2010) model while compiling the Danielson (1997) rubric theory. The trial subjects were 2 mathematics teachers and 33 VIII grade students. From the validation and testing, an analytical rubric was obtained consisting of 6 aspects and 2 sub-aspects. Weight 1 for the first and fifth aspects and weight 2 for the other aspects. Sub aspects of the rubric are accuracy and completeness. Every aspect and sub aspect has 4 levels. The results of this study are valid, practical and effective analytical rubrics. Validity is shown by the average score of all validators is 3.1. Practicality is shown by (1) the correlation coefficient between classes is 0.980, 0.990, and 0.991 and (2) the average score of all teachers is 3.44. The effectiveness is shown by (1) the average percentage of total development scores is 7.7% and (2) 75.8% of students get positive KMT. Further research is needed for the description of the performance of the completeness of the aspects of the analytic rubric.Keywords: Pengembangan, Rubrik Analitik

Abstract

This research aims to describe the profile of written mathematics communication in the mathematics problems solving of SMP in terms of the mathematics ability. This research is a qualitative research because the main data about the accuracy, completeness, and fluency of written mathematics communication in the form of written words. Subjects consisted of one student with high, medium, and low mathematics ability. The results of research indicate that the accuracy of written mathematics communication of students with high and medium mathematics ability is equally accurate for any information submitted. The accuracy of written mathematics communication of students with low mathematics ability is accurate to write the things that are known and asked and use rule. The completeness of written mathematics communication of students with high mathematics ability is complete for any information submitted. The completeness of written mathematics communication of students with medium mathematics ability is complete for information submitted except calculation. The completeness of written mathematics communication of students with low mathematics ability is complete for information submitted except for drawing/sketching and performing calculations. The fluency of written mathematics communication students with high and medium mathematics ability is equally fluent. The fluency of written mathematics communication students with low mathematics ability is not fluent.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the written mathematics communication of students with low mathematical ability in solving HOTS problems based on gender. This research is a qualitative research because the main data about the accuracy, completeness, and fluency of written mathematics communication in the form of written words. The research subjects were 2 students with low mathematical ability in class XI MIPA MAN 1 Lamongan consisting of one male and female student. The results showed that there were slight differences in the written mathematics communication of male and female students in the fluency of the information conveyed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes of student’s mathematical disposition in solving story sequence and sequence problem through the learning model LAPS Heuristic assisted by Whatsapp messenger. this type of research is an esperiment with a quantitative approach. Data collection method is done by the method of test and questionnaire. The study was conducted by giving 4 items of pretest and posttest regarding the settlement of row and series problems and a mathematical disposition questionnaire at the beginning and end of the study. The data analysis echnique used is the normaity test, the homogeneity test and the average difference test. Theresult of the study indicate: (1) there are differences in the achievement of learning outcomes and student’s mathematical disposition in solving story sequence questions and sequencesthrough learning LAPS Heuristic of Whatsapp assisted with conventional learning; (2) there is a difference in the improvement of learning outcomes and the mathematical disposition of students in solving story sequence questions and sequence through the learning model assisted by the whatsapp application.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low critical thinking skills and learning independence of students at Nurul Ummah Sukomalot Integrated Middle School. Teachers mostly use the lecture method when learning takes place. Efforts made to overcome these problems are by applying a Problem Based Learning Model. Based on research that has been conducted at SMP Terpadu Nurul Ummah Sukomalo, this study used a test aid to determine the data results from the students' conceptual understanding ability. Based on data analysis, it can be seen that the sig value in the normality test of critical thinking skills is sig> α then H_0 is accepted, where H_0: The sample from the population is normally distributed. In the hypothesis test, the pretest T_Hitung obtained 37.137, with 20 degrees of freedom, then the posttest T_Hitung obtained 134.240, with 20 degrees of freedom.Based on the determination of the conclusion, that is if T_Tabel <T_Hitung <T_Tabel, where T_Tabel is obtained from the t distribution list with α = 0.05 then H_0 is accepted and H_1 is rejected, so that from the t-test results there are differences in critical thinking skills before treatment and after treatment. Furthermore, in the N Gain test phase, the n gain value obtained was 0.621221424 with the criteria seen from the criteria table 0.3≤g≤0.7 showing the value of n gain for the critical thinking ability in the moderate category. The sig value on the normality test of learning independence is siper> α then H_0 is accepted, where H_0: The sample from the population is normally distributed. Whereas in the hypothesis test, the pretest T_Hitung obtained 20.452, with 20 degrees of freedom, then the posttest T_Hitung obtained 28.407, with 20 degrees of freedom. So that from the t-test results there are differences in student learning independence before treatment and after treatment. The results of the N Gain test on learning independence obtained 0.360068307 where the gain value is less ≤ 0.7 where 0.3≤g≤0.7 with the moderate category

Abstract

This study aims to describe the written mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in terms of high, medium and low interpersonal intelligence. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 6 class VIII-A students of SMP NU Simo in the 2019/2020 school year. The determination of the subject is based on the results of the interpersonal intelligence test. The question instrument given to the research subjects was a description test consisting of 3 items. The data used are the results of tests and interviews. The indicators of written mathematical communication skills in this study are (1) expressing mathematical ideas by writing down information on the problem about what is known and asked, (2) expressing ideas, daily situations and mathematical relations by describing shapes and description of the appropriate size problems, (3) understand and interpret mathematical ideas by writing the concept of formulas, steps and calculation of problem solving, (4) evaluating mathematical ideas by writing appropriate conclusions at the end of problem solving, and (5) using mathematical symbols in write down known information and process problem solving. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, the results of this study indicate that: (1) junior high school students' written mathematical communication skills in terms of high interpersonal intelligence are able to meet 5 indicators of written mathematical communication skills, namely indicators 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; (2) the written mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in terms of moderate interpersonal intelligence are able to meet 4 indicators of written mathematical communication skills, namely indicators 1, 3, 4, and 5; (3) written mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in terms of low interpersonal intelligence are able to meet 3 indicators of written mathematical communication skills, namely indicators 1, 3, and 4.
