Abstract

Abstract This study found that Arabic during the Umayyad Daula and Daula Abbasid became the language of theology, the language of communication and the language of state administration which developed in line with the region's expansion over the Arabization policy. During the Abbasid Daula, Arabic continued the role in the Umayyad period and then developed into a language of knowledge that acted as a bridge connecting science through government policies by carrying out translation movements. The education system in this classical period was teacher-oriented, not institution oriented, which means that the quality of education depends on the teacher, not on the institution. Meanwhile, the Arabic language learning system was implicitly the same as the Islamic learning system at the two periods because Arabic was the language medium for studying Islam and other sciences.
