THIS paper describes image schemas produced by orientational metaphors of apart of body, heart (haté), in Sundanese language. A cognitive semanticconceptual study of Lakoff and Johnson (1980) supported by Cruse & Croft(2004) and Saeed (2003) is used to describe and analyze the data. This studyused descriptive method in which the data source were got from oral and writtendata. The result shows that there are eight types of image schemas of orientationalmetaphor of heart, a body part, namely: a) space image schema; b) power imageschema; c) fire image schema; d) colors image schema; e) journey image schema;f) form image schema; g) size image schema; and h) wound image schema. AbstrakDALAM tulisan ini dideskripsikan skema citra yang dihasilkan oleh metafora orientasionalbagian tubuh haté ‘hati’ dalam bahasa Sunda. Metode deskriptif dan kajian konseptualsemantik kognitif Lakoff dan Johnson (2003); Cruse & Croft (2004); dan Saeed (2003)digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis data yang bersumber dari datalisan dan tulisan. Hasil analisis data ditemukan delapan jenis skema citra metaforaorientasional bagian tubuh haté ’hati’, yaitu (1) skema citra ruang; (2) skema citrakekuatan; (3) skema citra api; (4) skema citra warna; (5) skema citra perjalanan; (6)skema citra bentuk; (7) skema citra ukuran; dan (8) skema citra luka.
