Abstract

The prevalence of non-contagious diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension and obesity are increasing from year to year. Unhealthy diet such as excessive consumption of sugar, salt and fat is one of the factors causing these diseases. The result of data analysis shown that 21.5% of respondents had consumed sugar exceeding the recommendation of Permenkes no 30 year 2013 (>50 gram/day), 73.7% of respondents consume salt exceeding the recommendation of Permenkes no 30 year 2013 (5 gram/day), and as many as 7% of respondents consume fat exceeds the recommendation Permenkes no 30 year 2013 (> 67% gram /day). The highest consumption of salt and fat occurs in the age group of 56 - 65 years, while the highest sugar consumption occurs in the age group 40 - 45 years. Based on sex, women tends to consume sugar, salt and fat higher than men. Consumption of salt and sugar of respondents is high. This needs special attention because excessive salt and sugar consumption can cause non-contagious diseases such as hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus type 2, whose prevalence in Indonesia is increasing.

Abstract

They want to break the cycle of malnutrition that causes stunting. Objective: This research aims to know the relationship of the level of knowledge of the feeding of infants and children (PMBA) with the nutritional status of infants under two years (BADUTA). Method: This research is using descriptive analytic method with cross-sectional approach. Research subjects were mothers who had Baduta in the village of Pandes Wedi Klaten Regency in Central Java. The way of determining the sample by the total sampling techniques. Instrument research using questionnaires conducted test validity and reabilitas. Analysis of data for the purpose of hypothesis testing using statistical tests Spearman Rho. Result: Mothers with good level of knowledge in feeding on baduta were as much as 100%. Whilst Baduta with good nutritional status were as much as 66.67%. Nutritional status of less baduta that is as much as 10 (33.33%). The results obtained bivariat relationship level of knowledge of mothers with nutritional Status Baduta the value of p = 0,272, since the p value > 0.05 (0,272 > 0.05) it can be stated there was no relationship between the level of knowledge of parents against the nutritional status of infants under two years of age. Conclusion: There is no relationship of the level of knowledge with nutritional status baduta with a value of p = 0.272.

Abstract

The increase in total cholesterol level increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Sweet potato leaves are a food that contains polyphenols, flavonoids, quercetin, tannin, and fiber that effectively lower total cholesterol levels. This study aims to analyze the effect of ethanol extracts of leaf purple sweet potato on serum total cholesterol levels of rats fed a high-fat diet. An experimental study with design pre and posttest carried out on 10 male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) fed a high-fat, which are 2 groups: 1 group the control hypercholesterolemia and 1 group ethanol extracts of leaf purple sweet potato. Dose based on leaves of quercetin that is equal to 2 mg/kgBB. The average content of quercetin ethanol extracts of leaf purple sweet potato was analyzed to obtain 14,08 mg/100g. Ethanol extracts of leaf purple sweet potato are given for 14 days by way of on the sonde. Serum total cholesterol was determined by the CHOD-PAP method. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The result of this study obtained the average total cholesterol level of white blood rats before giving ethanol extracts of leaf purple sweet potato that is 189,89 mg/dl, whereas after administration of ethanol extracts of leaf purple sweet potato dose 2 mg/kgBB that is 131,92 mg/dl. The decrease in total cholesterol level of white rats after giving ethanol extracts of leaf purple sweet potato with dose 2 mg/kgBB that is 30,52 %.
