Abstract

Parenting Program is a program that allows the alignment between sustainability and education conducted in educational institutions and is done at home. The purpose of research was to analyze the effect of parenting program toward knowledge and attitude of parent for giving fundamental  needs of children in early age. Method: Research was pre-post test Design. The population and sample was one of the parents PAUD Sabana Blitar that lead to inclusion criteria as many as 43 respondents with a purposive sampling technique. Data was analyzed by descriptive and inferential using the Wilcoxon signed rank test and McNemar test with SPSS 17 for window, the level of significance (p ≤ 0.05). Result: The result of research got the value of P = 0.000 (Wilcoxon signed rank test), which means there was  effect of Parenting program toward parent’s knowledge, and P = 0.016 (McNemar Test) which means that there was effect of Parenting Program for parent’s attitude. Discussion: Parenting Program is perceived very beneficial by parents as a complement of parenting in PAUD and at home, it is necessary to proceed more intensive and varied.

Abstract

Occupational therapy is a healing effort against someone who is experiencing mental and physical disorders by giving liveliness job. The purpose of the study to determine the effect of Occupational Therapy on social skills in schizophrenia with social isolation, using Quasy Control Group Pre-test Posttest Design. Sampel used in this experiments were 10 respondents that are divided into 2 groups: treatment and control. The treatment group was given occupational therapy 2 times a week for 3 weeks. Observations by 12 questions was conducted to determine the level of social skills of respondents. The results of this study showed no increase on the level of social skills before and after given granted Occupational Therapy. The level of social capability of 5 respondents in the treatment group before given an Occupational Therapy were 7 and while after given an occupational therapy were 10.2. This result have contrast to the control group which showed level of social capability were 7 . Statistic Analized using Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test showed significant is 0.0205 in the group between pre and post treatment, while the treatment and control group comparisons with Mann Whitney U test showed 0.029 ≤ 0.05. With these results Occupational Therapy can improve social skills clients with social isolation.

Abstract

The influence of the aging process can a variety of problems both physically, mentally and economically so as to affect the fulfillment of the ADL (Activity Daily Living). The level of ability of the elderly in activity can be measured by the level of independence of elderly in performing 6 basic activities include bathing, dressing, toileting, moving, continence and eating.. Method: The research design was description design. The population was 80 elders in UPT PSLU Blitar, the sample was 44 by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected by  interviews guided. Result : The results showed that 86.4% 6 independent activities, 11.4% 5 activities, and 2.3% 4 activities. Elderly that has a high level of independence is has physical and psychological health and sufficient prima. Discussion : By getting a good health the elderly can perform any activity in their everyday lives. It is expected that the results of this study, carers must keep the safety of elders in activities to prevent deterioration in elderly activities which could be due to fall or hurt.

Abstract

The first solid food given after pulverized to form liquid but more filling than milk. Breastfed babies do not need solid foods before they are 6 months old. If baby food other than breastmilk companion early on (before the age of 6 months) it will increase the risk of diarrheal diseases and other infections. Method : Research design was Pre-Experimental One-Group Pre-test-post test design. Research sample 28 respondents at Children Care District Sanankulon Regency Village Bendowulung Blitar, its choosed with total sampling. Data collected by questionnaire. Analysis using Wilcoxon. Result : The results showed Berdasarkan uji statistik Wilcoxon didapatkan nilai sig = 0,005. Discussion : Based on the results of these studies are expected to respondents to be more active in improving the understanding of complementary feeding through electronic mass media and so respondents can improve the provision of complementary feeding in children aged 0-6 months.

Abstract

Old age is the final stage of the human life cycle and will inevitably be experienced by every individual, who will undergo physical and mental changes. The purpose of this study was to describe the mental status of the elderly. Method: Research design was descriptive study. The population in this study is 80 elders who live in PSLU Tulungagung in March 2014, Sample were 45 elderly by using purposive sampling technique. The data collected by  using a questionnaire MMSE at May 18th until 19th, 2014. Results: The result showed that 53.3% no cognitive impairment, 20% and cognitive impairment was 26.7% experiencing severe cognitive impairment. Discussion: It is expected that the results of this study, health workers improve activities that are motivating and supporting the elderly in dealing with elderly dementia or memory to support the mental status of the elders.

Abstract

The decline of cognitive function is a process of mental decline that include attention, language, memory, orientation capability, calculation and reasoning. Cognitive function changed significantly along the trajectories of the aging process. The function of Brain gym is important to improve brain function decline of the cognitive function in the elderly. The way of brain gym is to make a balance between the left and right brain functions. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of brain gym to the enhancement of cognitive function in elderly at UPT PSLU Blitar. Method: The research design was one group pre-post test design on December 2-21 Juli 2014. The sampel of the research was 18 elderly at UPT PSLU Blitar, it was chosen using purposive sampling. The data analysis used Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. Result: The results showed that the elderly cognitive decline before doing the brain gym were 9 people (50%) in the category of severe, and after doing the brain gym the result were increased in the category of normal. There was significant effect in the catogories of cognitive function with p value 0.00. Discussion: It was suggested for nurses that brain gym had an effect to the improvement of cognitive function to elderly.

Abstract

Patient safety at hospital is system that nursing care given more safe. When patient  at hospital they may got nosocomial enfection, and some medical procedure have an effect for them, for example intravenous therapy lead to causes of phlebitis. The purpose of this studiy was to  determine the effects of intravenous therapy in infants based on the VIP (Visual Infusion phlebitis) score. Method: The research design was descriptive study. The population in this study are 38infants who received intravenous therapy. Samples are 30 infants by using convenience sampling, research on March 2014 at Nusaindah  room Mardi Waluyo Blitar Hospital. Result : Research found a total of 27 infants no signs of phlebitis, as much as 2 toddlers possibility of early signs phlebitis, and 1 toddler stage beginning phlebitis. Discussion : We expected that nurse will enhance observation of the effects of intravenous therapy.

Abstract

Improper breast care will cause swelling on the breast and cracking on the  nipples which make the process of breastfeeding difficult. When there is cracking on the nipples, breastfeeding process should be suspended until it is healed. Method: The research design was a correlational research using cross sectional approach. The research sample was 14 people at BPM Eny Kustyaningsih Kepanjen Kidul District of Blitar at Augus 03th until 14th, 2012, it was chosen using purposive sampling. The data was collected by observation using questionnaire. The data was analyzed using Spearman rank, with a significant level of ≤ 0.05. Result : The motivation of breast care in postpartum mothers was in category of enough at about 71.4%, 64.3% in behavior, with the Spearman Rank P-value of 0.008. Discussion : It should be held further education for the mothers, especially when the mother was in a pregnancy, so that new mothers had the attention, memory, imagination and highly motivated so that the motivation and behavior of breast care would be better.

Abstract

Productivity Elderly elderly is still capable of doing the job or activity that can make money, goods or services. The purpose of the study was to describe the productivity of the elderly in the Village Puntodewo Karangwerda Kepanjenkidul Blitar District of Responsibility. Method: Research design was  descriptive design. The population in this study is all elderly in Karangwerda Puntodewo Kelruhan Kepanjenkidul Blitar District of Responsibility. Research samples was 55 elderly. Data collection was conducted by questionnaire at May 22nd until May 31th, 2014.. Result: The Results showed that from 55 elderly, 29,1%work and 10,9% elderly does not work. Agriculture and trade become the foundation of elderly workers. The average of  salary received by elderly month work at Rp 552 181, -. Income derived mostly from the elderly to use the money for everyday needs such as eating, drinking, capital of the store, working the fields, giving pocket for grandchildren as much as 67% . While seniors who use the money for the benefit of such family and save for medical expenses at any time if the pain was 33% .

Abstract

Hypertension is a major problem in public health in Indonesia as well as in several countries in the world. The number of cases of hypertension is increasing very significantly from year to year. It is estimated that by 2025 in developing countries, an increase of about 80% of hypertension cases, from 639 million cases in 2000 to 1.15 million. Patients should receive complementary alternative therapies to reduce dependence on the use of drugs in reducing the symptoms of hypertension. SEFT therapy could theoretically be used to overcome the problem of an increase in blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to explain the effectiveness of the SEFT therapy to reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Method: Research design was descriptive analytic method of pre - post test design with a case control approach. Samples specified quota sampling and sample size 30 patients with hypertension. Measuring instrument tensimeter diastolic blood pressure above 140 defined as patients with hypertension. Analysis using Independent T-Test Results. Result: The result showed that P-value = 0.023 (P <0.05). There was  SEFT therapy have an influence on systolic blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Dicsussion: It is suggested for nurses to implementation SEFT therapy for hypertention patients to decrease blood pressure.
