Abstract

The Elephant Safari Park as the research location is based on existence of interaction between tourist and society; the usage of the society area as tourism attraction; beside that are raised of some complaints from tourists and society toward elephant dirt, and clean water, etc. The aims of this research is researching the application of ecotourism principles. The data in this research are collected through observation, interview and documentation. The informants in this research consist of leaders of society, general manager and operational manager of Elephant Safari Park. The data is analysed by descriptive qualitative. The results of this study show that the application of ecotourism principle in Elephant Safari Park was done based on natural tourism, sustainable tourism development and accommodate local culture, mean while conservational action activities, educational aspect and local economy have not totally applied the ecotourism principle yet. Generally, ecology aspect has not surely known it negative impact yet, but it able to give small impact to the environment, from the economy aspect give benefit the society, but don’t totally involved. Meanwhile from the social culture aspect, also give benefit to the local society, but are raised of the anxiety for the future. The suggestion that is taken from the research, the management of Elephant Safari Park cooperated with the village of Taro and supported by government need to improve contribution toward action of conservation, involved and education of society. For further research is needed depth research concerning existence of Elephant Safari Park toward carrying capacity, connection between the existence of elephant with conservation of white buffalo, and exact effort for conservation of white buffalo.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify the management system of public toilet in several tourist attractions in Bali, which was related to cleanliness quality, facility, and design feasibility. In addition, this was also referred to identifying the level of tourist’s satisfaction as user of public toilet. To achieve those goals, this research used survey design to collect data of 200 respondents in 20 tourist attractions spread in Bali. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted to reconfirm the findings; therefore right strategies could be formulated to overcome current issues and problems. The analysis method applied for this research was Qualitative Descriptive and Performance-Importance Analysis. The results showed that tourist’s satisfaction toward the cleanliness and design of public toilet was 47%. From design feasibility perspective, it was found out that conformance level of public toilet design toward international standard was 51%. Those findings showed that the public toilet management system in Bali needed significant improvement. It needed a comprehensive approach to solve these problems by involving all stakeholders.

Abstract

The characteristics of Surabaya tourism is urban tourism. With the limitations of natural attractions, Surabaya has an artificial tourism based on community based tourism in the residential area in Jambangan tourism village.TouristattractionsinJambanganusingexperientialtourism approach, which is touristsexperience firsthandandbe involved inlocal community life. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the field of urban tourism in Surabaya is done through three forms: the creation of tourist events, renovation or development of tourist attractions, and the creation of new tourist destinations or attractions. CSR in the tourist village Jambangan CSR categorized in terms of the development of tourist attractions. The background of implementation CSR in Jambangan because the location of business close from this village. CSR through assistance making catfish ponds, nursery fungi, and development of batik creations among the citizens of Jambangan. The goal is to have a diversity in Jambangan tourism village. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, in which the primary data source is obtained through interviews and observation, secondary data sources through the study of literature. Conclusions of this study are: ( 1 ) CSR in tourism will achieve the target and sustain if supported by community involvement, (2 ) The development of tourist destinations with CSR programs must adapt to the characteristics and local resources.

Abstract

Along with the development and economic growth processing, the role of tourism nowadays is more essential, as new sectors that contibuting foreign exchange for the improvement of people's welfare. Indonesia is one country that has a many natural and cultural remarkable, also enjoy this benefit. However, tourism is often regarded as one of the largest damage contributor to the preservation of the environment and the community, particularly through the development of the infrastructure. Yogyakarta Province as one of the tourist destinations, also face the same problem, a shift in cultural values, social and environmental wisdom. Ecotourism then regarded as one of the policy alternatives that can be used as a solution to this problem. By using a qualitative approach, this study was conducted with the aim of formulating a model-based sustainable ecotourism cultural values, social and environmental wisdom that will support the successful development of tourism in Yogyakarta. With the development of this policy model, expected to be a guideline for governments in developing national policies in the field of sustainable tourism in order to strengthen the economic independence in the region.

Abstract

Masalah peran wanita dan pembagian kerja secara seksual ini sudah sejak dulu menjadi masalah yang senantiasa diperdebatkan. Achmad (2000) telah membahas teori-teori pembagian kerja seksual yang antar lain meliputi ; 1) toeri alam (nature) yang mengatakan bahwa perbedaan psikologis antar pria dan wanita disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor biologis yang secara kodrati ada pada kedua insan tersebut, 2) teori kebudayaan (culture) yang mengemukakan bahwa perbedaan tercipta melalui proses belajar dari lingkungan, 3) teori psikoanalisa yang mengemukakan konsep yang berpokok pada “penis envy” atau keirian pada kelamin pria, 4) teori fungsionalis dan marxis yang menyatakan bahwa lingkunganlah yang membuat wanita lemah dan 5) gerakan feminis yang pola pikirnya ditujukan pada factor-faktor kebudayaan dan sosial ekonomi.Sasaran pembangunan nasional adalah bersifat universal yang mempunyai arti bahwa daerah pedesaan dan daerah terisolir lainnya pun harus mampu terjangkau oleh roda pembangunan. Hal ini dimaksudkan bahwa semua lapisan dan golongan masyarakat termasuk wanita tidak terlepas dari sasaran pembangunan. Dari hal tersebut terlihat adanya suatu tantangan yang cukup berat bagi kaum wanita (Hemas, 2000).Oleh karena itu dalam upaya mengembangkan jenis usaha rumah tangga perlu dikaji sejauh mana peran wanita dalam menjaga kelangsungan keluarga, wanita dihadapkan pada suatu pengambilan keputusan dari berbagai masalah yang ada. Dalam pengambilan keputusan tersebut terdapat pola-pola pengambilan keputusan di dalam rumah tangga, sehingga dilihat seberapa besar pola pengambilan keputusan wanita pada kegiatan di sektor pariwisata. Adapun urgensi dalam penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut; (1) Tersusunnya teori-teori yang berkenaan dengan responsif gender terutama dalam bidang kepariwisataan, (2) Mendukung terwujudnya pengarus utamaan gender dalam bidang kepariwisataan, (3) Meminimalisasi bias gender dalam melakukan kegiatan guna meningkatkan pendapatan rumah tangga.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to present a comprehensive framework of tourist attitude toward culinary tourism product in Palembang City. This research is using quantitative method with ex-post facto and longitudinal approach. Samples are taken during the high season and low season. Descriptive and inferential statistic conducted to analyze the research questions and the results are: 1) Knowledge, understanding, and tourist tendency toward culinary tourism in Palembang City tend to be positive. 2) Tourist attitude towards culinary in Palembang according to origin, age, and tourist destinations, as well as visit frequency did not differ significantly.

Abstract

Restoran merupakan salah satu public space yang semakin banyak dikunjungi oleh masyarakat Indonesia, khususnya DKI Jakarta sebagai salah satu alternatif ruang interaksi baru. Ini di sebabkan oleh kemudahan berinteraksi dengan keluarga, relasi atau bahkan pasangan, dan juga dapat menjamu rekan bisnis dengan suasana yang lebih santai. Salah satu cara agar dapat menarik perhatian calon pelanggan dengan cara menonjolkan panorama keindahan alam itu sendiri. Panorama keindahan alam dapat menarik simpati tamu untuk datang dan mencicipi menu makanan yang ada. Tidak jarang tamu datang hanya untuk menikmati keindahan panorama alam yang ada. Dengan adanya restoran-restoran bernuansa baru inilah menjadikan daerah tujuan wisata menjadi ramai pada akhir pekan atau musim liburan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif. Dan untuk menentukan jumlah sampling yang akan diambil, peneliti menggunakan metode slovin. Untuk teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah Field Research. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengujian hipotesis, lalu di analisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif dan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadinya hubungan korelasi yang kuat yaitu sebesar 0, 687. Dari hasil regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan bahwa variabel atraksi wisata berpengaruh positif terhadap variabel motivasi pengunjung.

Abstract

Based on the study about tourism icon identification in Surabaya by Surabaya Development Planning Body in 2015, Surabaya tourism icons are cultural heritage areas that include Kota Tua, TuguPahlawan and Tunjungan Street. These tourism spots are mostly located in north Surabaya. As far as the field study is concerned, some of the buildings in those areas are still well maintained and even used for office buildings and factories. Besides that, in Kota Tua areas especially Kota TuaKolonial, some commercial buildings such as hotels and museums are still available. Unfortunately, some others are not properly preserved. They significantly affect not only the tourism destination quality but also the tourists’ special interests to visit those areas. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is intentionally carried out to preserve cultural heritage buildings, through which the quality of heritage tourism products in Surabaya can be improved. Having used descriptive qualitative method as a research design, this study aims at describing the implementation of CSR in increasing Surabaya’s heritage tourism products. The primary data are obtained from interview and observation; meanwhile, the secondary ones are from the desk review of documents and the review of related literature. Surabaya tourism stakeholders are the key informants of the study such as the government officials, the members of legislative body, businessmen, tourists, and members of the society. This study concludes that improving the quality of Surabaya tourism icon destination is not solely the responsibility of the government. Due to vast areas of the tourism spots, firstly, the contribution of the private sectors is strongly needed to allocate the activities of CSR into different kinds of favorable actions. Second, the improvement of Surabaya’s heritage tourism product quality will affect the development of other Surabaya’s heritage products. Thirdly, some organizations or heritage area management bodies which are related to Destination Management Organization are needed in order to maintain the sustainability of those areas.

Abstract

Performance is working result which has strong correlation with organization strategic goal, consumer satisfaction and it will give contribution on economic. Some factors that affect performance are discipline and work motivation. Based on the data obtained in period of 2014-2015 the employee discipline violation in the Hotel Patra Jasa Bali Resort & Villas was increasing and their performance was descreasing.This study aims to find out the effect of discipline and motivation simultaneously and partially toward employee performance and which variable has dominant affect on employee performance at Hotel Patra Jasa Bali Resort & Villas.Data analysis technique consist of validity test, reliability, multiple linear regresion, Ftest, ttest, correlation and determination. The result shows that discipline and work motivation simultanouesly have significant and positive effect toward employee performance at Hotel Patra Jasa Bali Resort & Villas. Based on Fcalculate (159.410) > Ftable (3.06) by using significant level of 0.05. Discipline (X1) partially has positive and also significant affect toward employee performance (Y) with tcalculate 4.677 > ttable 1.976. Work motivation (X2) partially has positive and significant effect toward performance (Y) with tcalculate 8.823 > ttable 1.976. Base on ttest with significant level 5 %, work motivation gives bigges effect on the performance compare to discipline.

Abstract

Hotels often referred to as a 'home away from home'. A place where tourists stop being a traveler and being a guest. A hotel typically offers a range of accommodation and services, which may include a suite, common dining and lounge facilities banquet facilities, and entertainment facilities. The main characteristic feature that sets the hotel apart from other types of accommodation are complete facilities and services available. In addition to the availability of public services, a variety of other services such as airline tickets, tours, reservation booking, and others. The hotel size ranges from twenty to more than two thousand rooms. hotels found in the city center, suburban and airport locations.Purchasing Department is the center point of the transaction or purchase of any kind of goods for hotel operations, so that the purchasing department is often described as the central purchasing company or hotel in question. The task of purchasing at Swiss-Bel Hotel Pondok Indah is in conformity with the task of purchasing the authors noted in the theoretical basis. The purchasing department function is to plan and coordinate the process of making the PR and PO for the needs of all departments in the hotel. With the PR and PO and coordination between departments is good, then the procurement process at the hotel can run smoothly.This type of research is qualitative descriptive research that is done through case studies, interviews, and direct observation of The Role of Purchasing at the hotel.
