Abstract

the purposes of this research are(1) Developing Index Card MatchModel in learning earthquake mitigation in Indonesia(2) to now the effectivenes of Index Card Match Model in learning earthquake mitigation in Indonesia(3) Improve students learning outcomes in learning earthquake mitigation in Indonesia a. This research is a RnD research (research and development) by following the steps suggested by Sugiyono. the study was conducted in SMA Negeri 6 in Kerinci Regency. The sample was determined through simple random sampling. The data was collected by using teacher questionnaire and student questionnaire. the rpoduct to be developed was Index Card Matchyang model implemented in teaching and learning the materials of eartquake mitigation in Indonesia. the model had been validated by model and material experts and then being tesed. The result found that there was a significant difference between students’ learning outcomes before and after the development of model. After calculating the data, t-test value was setelah sig(2-tailed) 0,000. This means, Ho (null Hypothesis) was rejected and H1 (researcher hypothesis) was accepted. in other words, there a significant result of pretest and post test.

Abstract

This research aims to identify of coastal communities chartered economic potency, explore the human resources potency of coastal communities, investigate the role of coastal communities chartered economic institution, and knowing both of the socio-economic condition and infrastructure support for the economic development of coastal areas in Serdang Bedagai Regency. This research was done in Pantai Sialang Buah Desa Teluk Mengkudu, Serdang Bedagai Regency. respondents took by random sampling method. Data analysis method of this research was applied descriptive analysis. The result of this research shows that communities economics potency at coastal area quite prospective. The social economic condition of communities at coastal area relatively still very lag, although the economic sector is very potential to be developed like fishery sector, cultivation of seagrass, beach tourism, field crop and breeding sector. The role of the government and the private sector in developing the potential of coastal communities is not sufficient, especially in the field of infrastructure.

Abstract

Implementation of environmentally caring education in schools requires teachers to develop learning tools that can lead learners to achieve the expected growth of character. The purpose of this research to produce learning devices of environmental education (PLH) that can grow this characters in high school students in Solok Selatan Regency. Development method using the 4-D model which consists of four stages of defining, design, development and disseminate. Learning tools developed in the form of the syllabus, Lesson Plan, and students worksheet. The result of document analysis of learning devices shows that during this implementation of environmental character education through PLH at senior high school in Solok Selatan Regency has not been done properly. It is necessary to develop effective learning tools effectively to build the environmental caring character of learners. As a proven from the analysis of the validity of learning devices showed in a very good category, the device practicability by the teacher was very good and by the students of the good category. Effectiveness device seen from the learning of cognitive domain and effective were also in the good category. The character formed through the development of learning tools PLH classified into 2, namely individual characters, among others: religious, disciplined, creative, independent. Then the second was the social character, among others: environmental care, social care, responsibility. The study of learning device development only up to stage three development of four stages of development of the 4-D model. It would be better if the development model was done until the disseminate stage so that learning devices can be developed on a wider scale.

Abstract

Land degradation is one of the causes of lack of success of agricultural activities in Indonesia because of a decline in land productivity continuously and ultimately reduce the level of income / welfare of farmers. Land degradation can occur either on dry land or in wetlands, so prevention and / or rehabilitation of degraded land is very important that the agricultural area can be used on an ongoing basis. Land degradation is the loss or reduction of utility or potential use of land, loss of or changes in land features that are not hindered replaced. According to FAO (1993), soil degradation is a process that describes the phenomenon which lower the capacity of soil to support life. Land degradation is a process of decline of soil productivity, temporary or permanent, so that eventually the land can lead to a certain critical level (Dent, 1993). The process includes various forms of land degradation levels.

Abstract

This research aims to get the data, manage, analyze and discuss the characteristics of the study of Agricultural Land in Sembalun visits: 1 ) Characteristics of agricultural land, 2) Level of agricultural land suitability. This type of research is quantitative. This study population across the districts in East Lombok, amounting to 20 District of the District Keruak, Jerowaru, Sakra, Sakra West, Sakra East, Terara, Montong Ivory, Sikur, Masbagik, Pringgasela, Sukamulia, Suralaga, Selong, Labuhan Haji, Pringgabaya , Suela, Aikmel, Wanasaba Sembalun and Sambelia. Sampling in this study using Purvosive Sampling. Samples are Sembalun subdistrict. Mechanical Analysis by objective research of agricultural land characteristics observed descriptively and databulasi of the field data belongs to the growing requirements of agriculture which can be seen from the slope, soil structure, slope length, slope shape, texture soil, land use criteria. The research found that: 1) Characteristics of agricultural land in Sembalun, had several criteria: a slope in the category Sembalun including steep or less suitable for agriculture by 46-65% kemiringin slope, soil to soil Sembalun criteria granular, blocky or appropriate agricultural land and have long used the medium to long 15-50m, soil texture Sembalun criteria belong to the category of rough because it is composed by sand-plated, dusty sand, slope shape in Sembalun belong to the variation convex with dignity 2 for observation location along notching it is always a convex slope, land use Sembalun belong to the criterion of berlukar / mixed farms with dignity 2. Because along the way, the land berlukar / mixed farms. 2) Suitability of farmland in Sembalun based on the results of pengharkatan to 6 land characteristics, the number value obtained was 12 with class suitability for agricultural land belonging to the class I (land suitable for agriculture).

Abstract

The development of this natural laboratory is motivated due to there is no development for learning in schools. The potential of mangroves forest area in the Olaya Village are wide enough so that it can be used as a natural laboratory. The reason chosen Olaya village is as seen from some aspects of the assessment parameters such as mangroves forest wide, the distance of the settlement, the condition of naturally mangroves forest, access to the location and condition of the communities who support it. The development of natural laboratory is aim to be able to facilitate student in learning where student are provided differentiated learning that is direct observing the object being studied. The concept of ecotourism mangroves are used as a natural laboratory support due to in the Olaya Village has an excellent mangroves and the role of local communities are able to maintain mangroves. The plan in the development of this natural laboratory will provide benefits both for student in the learning process and for the local communities in developing the potential of the region. The development of this natural laboratory combines two concepts that are education and tourism.

Abstract

Intertidal mangrove forests cover much of the coastline of Southeast Asia, provide crucial ecosystem services to millions of people living in the coastal zone, and are some of the most biodiverse in the world. However, they are one of the most threatened ecosystems in the tropics due to land cover conversion to agriculture (rice, oil palm) and aquaculture. Several conservation tools have been suggested to reduce mangrove deforestation, with many recent tools based on financially valuing the mangrove ecosystem and using that money to incentivize habitat protection. An important set of ecosystem services that can potentially be paid for under some settings are cultural values, such as recreation, tourism, spiritual value and aesthetic value. Ecotourism potentially represents a set of sustainable tourism principles that utilize the cultural ecosystem services of habitats to provide income to tourism operators and local communities. While we don’t yet have a comprehensive and large-scale overview of the full extent of mangrove ecotourism activities in the region, numerous case studies suggest the importance of these activities in bringing mangroves and people together. However, ecotourism must be implemented correctly in order to minimize the adverse impacts of tourists on local habitats. These impacts can be physical, including increased shoreline erosion, noise and pollution, or social, including the exclusion of local tour operators and communities. We need to understand these impacts, and how to reduce them, if we want to better conserve mangrove forests using neoliberal approaches such as ecotourism.

Abstract

This study aims to develop students’ responsiveness character on natural disaster through the implemtation of Problem Posing Learning Model in SMA Negeri Kerinci. The research was Mixed Method research. The data was obtained thorugh observation, interview and documentation. Furthermore, the data was analysed by calculating its percentage and scores followed data reduction, interpretation and research conclusion. The results showed that the implementation of Problem Posing Learning Model in developing the character of natural disaster responsiveness has been well conductedStudents’ responsiveness character on natural disaster, For example: throwing garbage in its place, planting trees that are beneficial for life requires: knowledge, understanding, appreciation, confidence, awareness and practice, awareness to reduce 5 disaster risks, awareness in investing to reduce disaster risk, eg reforestation to prevent flooding. One of the disaster mitigation efforts in developing natural disaster responsiveness characters can be done by students’ response attitude. The result of Geography learning in SMA Negeri 6 Kerinci was 83.621, higher that SMA Negeri 3 Kerinci based on the hypothesis testing . Obtained data showed a significant differences between the school that implemented Problem Posing Learning Model in Geography classroom the school that did not implement the learning model. Finally,it was ound that the implementation of Problem Posing Learning Model in geography learning could improve students’ respnsiveness character on natural disaster in Indonesia

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the knowledge of students about disasters about : pre disaster knowledge, during disaster and post disaster. This research was conducted at Senior High School State 5 Bukittinggi, West Sumatera, Indonesia. The population of this study is all students of SMA N 5 Bukittinggi. The sample was obtained by purposive random technique. Sample number counted 50 students. The research method used is survey. The results showed that 1). disaster knowledge at pre disaster stage 29.3%, 2). Disaster knowledge at during disaster with percentage 50.4%, 3). Disaster knowledge at post disaster stage indicator 50.1%.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe and analyze the effectiveness of Geography learning at state senior high schools in Padang City and its effect on disaster response. The research method was Mixed Method. The data were collected through observation, interview and documentation. The analysis of the data suggested that the effectiveness of Geography learning at state high schools in Padang city was effective to very effective. It was influenced by teachers’ ability in opening the lesson and motivating the students, teachers’ strategies and supported media. Learning evaluation consisted of student’s knowledge evaluation ( written test and task), behavior evaluation (peer’s observation and self-assessment), and skill evaluation (Practice, Project, and Portfolio.) Students’ learning activity and response at state senior high schools in Padang City were categorized as effective to very effective. This was influenced by school social environment, student’s socio-economic factors and school physical environment. Regarding students’ learning mastery, it was found that schools located in the centre and the outskirt of the city obtained > 75 for individual learning mastery. Furthermore, for classical learning mastery, the schools in the downtown achieved 97.5% or more than 75 (completed). Meanwhile, the shools located in the outskirt had yet to score more than 75 or it only scored 74%. The cause was the difficulty in lesson planning, for example preparing media for learning. In addition, the difficulty was also affected by technlogical factors (smartphone) and student’s social environmental factors. Moreover, from the evaluation, it was found that the significant problem was time allocation for assessing the learning outcomes so it had an effect on disaster response in school, namely student’s readiness in receiving learning materials, teacher’s competence and the availability of learning facilities and infrastructures. Some prior policies regarding the effectiveness improvement are the use of learning media, the development of learning strategies, the development of learning model and method, improving learning facilities and supporting infrastructures as well as increasing teachers’ interest in participating in the forum of subject teachers (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran).
