Abstract

The aim of research was found the effect of google form media on problem-based learning models with student learning outcomes of XI at one of the schools in Samarinda in acid-base chapter. Design of research was used is true-experimental design is especially posttest only control design. The population was all students of class XI MIPA which amounted to 105 students. The research subject was taken by cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques in this research are test, documentation, and observation techniques. The test technique was obtained of three time post-test at the end of each meeting were obtained from 20% of each post-test score and 40% of final examination score. The documentation data as previous student learning outcomes was used to determine homogeneous of the sample. The observation data was obtained of direct observation of the implementation of the steps of teacher and student learning. Technical analysis of the data using normality test, F-test, and T-test. The average of experimental class learning outcomes and the control class learning outcomes were 79.86 and 73.21, respectively. The T-test result shown T-count (2.75)> T-table (1.67) with significant 0.05. So it can be concluded that the google form media give effect in problem-based learning models onto student learning outcomes in acid-base chapter.

Abstract

Chemical calculation is the most important subject in learning chemistry but it is difficult understand for some students. Students will master chemistry well if this subject has been mastered well. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze student errors in mastering this material to assist students in their learning. This study aims to identify patterns of student error in solving chemical calculation problems. Students' conceptual errors were analyzed using the Newmann procedure. The error patterns analyzed include several errors, namely Reading, Comprehension, Transformation, Process Skills, and Encoding. Most of the students experienced a pattern of transformation errors on each item given. The largest percentage of transformation errors is in question number 3, which is 52.5%. This shows that the ability of students is still weak in solving problems related to chemical calculations. This study suggest that chemistry teachers emphasize more on students about the correct approach in solving chemical calculation problems.

Abstract

Organic chemistry course is a compulsory subject for chemistry education students. One of the main points of discussion is aldehyde and ketone compounds including the concept of structure, numbering, and nomenclature. With a pandemic condition that demands online lectures, the research team is trying to implement the MIKiR approach online as a solution to making organic chemistry courses interesting, student-centered, and able to achieve learning goals very well. A series of activities with the MIKiR approach have been carried out including introduction, connection, application, and reflection. The results of the evaluation showed that students mastered the concepts of aldehyde and ketone compounds very well with an average value of 80-100%, through a multiple choice test with google form media. After the implementation of the implementation of the MIKiR approach, students were given a questionnaire related to the implementation of lectures, the results of the questionnaire included 59.28% agreeing responses, 32.13% strongly agree, and 8.59% disagree with the implementation of the MIKiR approach in organic chemistry lectures. It can be concluded that the MIKiR approach can be recommended for lecturers in carrying out organic chemistry courses online.

Abstract

Student can’t able to give examples related to the problems of learning chemistry in high school. The purpose of this study is to develop a module of problems in chemistry learning contextual-based in Belajar dan pembelajaran. Development research uses the Rowntree model combined with Tessmer's formative evaluation. The research subjects were 4th semester students participating in Belajar dan Pembelajaran. Data collection techniques carried out through interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis consisted of validation data analysis and student assessment data analysis. Validation data analysis was given to the design expert, pedagogic expert, material expert on a Likert scale and analyzed with Aiken. Analysis of student assessment data is carried out at the one to one and small group stages with the Guttman scale. The results showed the modules developed met the design validation test of 0.87, pedagogical validation of 80, material validation of 0.86 all with a high category. The results of student assessment of modules developed practically where at one to one stage by 90% and small groups by 96.66% with a very high category. It can be concluded that the module of problems in chemistry learning contextual-based in Belajar dan pembelajaran lecture have met the valid and practical criteria.

Abstract

One way learning method could lead students unfocused and difficult to gain learning outcomes . Currently, the Comparative learning model by Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) it is largely used in teaching. Therefore, this review was made to understand and find out the impact of the learning model system in the class. The study is based on literatures with the following criteria (1) STAD cooperative type with a quasi-experiment and (2) research subjects were at the senior high school at MIPA class. We obtained 14 articles are similar with the criteria. Each of the article shortly describe the research finding. Indicator of student success with cooperative type STAD can be seen from the average value above 50%. It was found that the STAD type of cooperative learning model lead the creation of actively students mood, creative, and independent learning atmosphere for students in receiving, processing, and answering learning material. This learning model is likely one of the most adaptive model learning, modifications some elements are required depend on characteristic and environment learning locally.

Abstract

The limitations of media variants and the infrequent use of learning media in the chemistry learning process in one of the public schools in Palembang City are the main problems behind the research. This research was an R&D (research and development) research that aimed to develop snakes and ladders game on acid-base topic, determine validity based on expert judgment, determine the practicality of media based on student response questionnaire assessments, and determine the effectiveness of the learning media. The development of the snake and ladder game learning media followed the ADDIE development framework. The validators in this study were content experts, media experts, and education practitioners. The subjects were students in one of the public schools in the Palembang City. Data collection instruments used validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and test questions. The results of the validity test got an average score of 4,07 meaning that it was feasible. The practicality assessment in small-scale trials got 94,86% which was included in the very practical category, the medium-scale trials of 90,75% and also included in the very practical category. The results of test showed an increase in student learning outcomes. It could be proved by the average post-test score of the experimental group students was 85,12 while the average post-test score of the control group was 78,12 and the Sig. (2-tailed) of the t-test (independent sample t-test) had 0,000 < 0,05, which means the snake and ladder game learning media developed is effective to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Chemical phenomena can be explained by three levels of representation, namely macroscopic, sub microscopic and symbolic. Chemistry learning media which includes three dimensions of representation can make it easier for students to build chemical concepts. The aim of this research is to produce a valid multipeld representation-based media on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution course, to know students respond toward multipel representation-based media on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution course that developed. This study was categorized as research and development (RnD). The media development procedure used in this research through 7 phase and adapted from Borg & Gall development model. The collecting data procedure used are interview and questionnaire. This research involve 2 material experts, chemistry teacher and expert lecturer, 1 media expert and 1 language expert. The subject of this research involve 6 students for small scale research and 30 students for medium scale research. The result of this study showed the developed media is valid and appropriate to use with detail score; 4 from experts lecturer (very good), 3.55 from chemistry teacher (very good), 3.46 from media expert (very good), 3.55 from language expert (very good), while students respond in small scale research get score percentage 90% (really agree) and students respond in medium scale research get percentage score 90.5% (really agree)
