Abstract

Nowadays the meaning of marriage has changed as found in various phenomena of exiting from state regulations and laws, religion, customs and norms in society. The research aims at finding interaction model and group communication leading to changes of meaning of marriage among inter-generation of middle-class groups in in DKI Jakarta. This research refers to Alfred Schutz teories of symbolic interactionism, group-communication, and social phenomenology. Qualitative research method is used to analyze data completed by depth interview and FGD as data collection technique. The results shows that interaction model on mariage meaning is influenced by the way people grow, interact, and communicate within their group. The meaning of marriage symbols which is exchanged in the interaction of a group has changed from one generation to the next generation. Marriage is perceived as destiny, the unity between man and woman as a way of preserving human beings, justifying sexual intercourse and holding religious order. The research also fond contradictive phenomenon of marriage meaning between marriage meaning with the sacred law of marriage, whether it is in state regulations, customs and norms of society, such as same-sex marriage phenomenon (gay/lesbian), swinging behavior, samen leven, and free sex.

Abstract

This study discusses the integrated marketing communications conducted by PT Cubes Consulting to build the brand image of the company. Authors take this subject because the authors assume that the PT Cubes Consutlting as an SAP partner, a company that is still very new, but it could have a considerable client references and come from large companies. Though competition in the business world is not easy, because many SAP partners in Indonesia who have first foray into the world and be seen from the size of the business, obviously bigger.

Abstract

Visual Communication activities in 1950-2000 actual cigarette Advertisement in packaging his message began to flourish in the late 90s with the beginning of the modern trends with ad visualization further highlight the ability to package the message in a way that “new”, the Advertisement contains a more interesting originality out of the path message vulgarly without the superior power of creativity is only repeating the old ways of communicating visually compared with 50s. Advertising is a message that offers products intended to the public through a media and advertising is the biggest benefit of bringing the message to be conveyed by the producer to the general public. Sometimes Visual Communication submitted by the Advertisement in the plot that makes the society to behave in a consumptive. Advertising is the tip of the spear, in this case is one of the important parts in the process of achieving success of a program to disseminate, in other words visual communication plays in achieving the goals producer or the sender’s main message.

Abstract

The real experience of journalists in the field when disaster coverage is learning that can be researched empirically  in disaster coverage in the present and future. The purpose of this research described problems communication disaster experien ced by reporters at the disaster, within specific research about experiences journalist who served in Yogyakarta and surrounding when coverage eruption Merapi 2010. Methods used in this research is indepth interviews with the journalists who involved in disaster coverage. The result of this research was found an important aspect that must be controlled reporters, namely, the ability accuracy and verification of data in coverage that puts forward journalism sensitive disasters and as well as to give hope to residents affected disaster and people through journalism optimistic in disaster coverage. The absence of standard operating procedure (SOP) of disaster coverage during the eruption of Merapi Mount eruption in 2010 became a valuable lesson for various media. The SOP of disaster coverage becomes significant in disaster coverage which now has to be prepared by the editor before giving assignments to journalists to cover the disaster. This research contributes to give a new insight for journalist on disaster journalism issue.

Abstract

Organization is currently experiencing growth and remarkable development. An increasingly diverse public characters, both interal and external, require special handling in communicating to them. Communication activities of the organization is a strategic communications activities that need to be run by the organization. This communication activities involving management as important decision makers in the organization. Through public relations activities of the organization’s strategic communication can run well. Public relations must have the full support of management to be able to carry out the task.

Abstract

This study aims to determine communication strategy of Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Special Region of Yogyakarta in disseminating Generation Program Planning (GenRe). The study uses descriptive qualitative method. The result shows that communication strategy undertaken by BKKBN Yogyakarta Province in disseminating the program GenRe is through Student Ambassador Selection genre, GenRe Goes To School and GenRe Goes To Campus, Genre Comedy Competition, Poster Competition genre, and Competition NGE - rap genre. BKKBN also uses mass media as a medium of socialization such as Public Service Announcements on television and radio, internet media by creating a website, blog, facebook, and twitter, as well as the use of billboards appeal board. BKKBN also works with schools and colleges to form the Youth Information and Counseling Center / Student (PIK R/M) to get closer to teenagers and college students.

Abstract

According to Anne Gregory at least in Crisis Management, PR is able to communicate to management about the structure of stakeholder from organizations and their characteristics which are expected to support the policy.

Abstract

Karonese Batak tribe has ertutur tradition. It is communication of someone when meet people for the first time to get position in the custom and family relationship (pertuturen). When someone meets people for the first time, he or she reduces uncertainty by information seeking. This paper aims at analysing ertutur Karonese tradition as interpersonal communication model for Karonese young people living in Yogyakarta using uncertainty reduction theory. Using qualitative method, data were collected by in-depth interview and participatory observation to Karonese young people living in Yogyakarta. The research found that many young Karonese people living in Yogyakarta have difficulties in starting communication. Ertutur tradition can be one way to start communiation.
