Abstract

Abstract Gairaigo is a Japanese vocabulary written in katakana letters. Gairaigo is a special vocabulary, although the words derived from a foreign language but if they are used in Japanese language, they must be appropriated with the rules in the Japanese pronunciation and writing procedures. The data in this research taken from minna no nihongo shokyu I textbook. There are 97 gairaigo in the minna no nihongo shokyu I, but this paper only explains the formation of gairago. There are three morphological process of gairaigo that can be found in this research. First, gairaigo which is formed by affixation process. Second, gairaigo which is formed by compounding process and third gairaigo which is formed by abbreviation process. Clipping and contraction (karikomi) are included in the abbreviation process. To explain the morphological process of gairaigo, this research used theory by sutedi and tsujimura. Abstract

Hospitality is one of materials in gaido course. The research objective is to analyse the need of developing gaido instructional material which oriented to hospitality for students of  D3 Japanese at Univeristy of Technology Yogyakarta especially students who will take internship program as the basis of instructional material development in the future. This research belongs to descriptive qualitative research. Analysis stage refers  to analyze step in ADDIE development model. Data collecting technnique is conducted through questionnaire distribution, observation, and interview. From the interview with students who are taking intership program, it finds that: (1) speaking skill of students who taking internship program is till low since the course material has not facilitate the need of of those students (2) one of the efforts to improve speaking skill of students who taking internship program is by providing conversation instructional material which oriented to hospitality (3)to develop conversation instructional materialwhich is oriented to hospitality needs the latest literature source so students are able to implement in real situation setting directly.Keyword:hospitality, instructional material, ADDIE

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to discover the extent of students’ learning interest in studying Chookai IV in Japanese Department Unikom. The method used is descriptive analysis. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires and literature study. The samples in this research were students of semester IV in the academic year of 2017/2018. The results showed that the student’s interest in following Chookai IV lecture was high in terms of interest with 96.9%, the pleasure with 84.4%, and the enthusiasm to follow the lecture of Chookai IV by 75%. In addition, the students’ interest to do the job well and on time was high. However, the interest of students to always be present in the lectures and interest to repeat the material that has been studied is still not good. Therefore, lecturers need to conduct a deeper evaluation related to the method of assignment before and after the learning in order to improve students’ learning outcomes. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe complexity of the translation process can lead to errors in translation. This case study analyzes the misuse of the Japanese word in Indonesian-Japanese translation. The data source is the nine scientific works of students majoring in Japanese. The results of the analysis show five categorizations of error: 1) Mistakes of inappropriate vocabulary in the sentence. 2) Error adding and omission of words in sentence, 3) Error writing letters saya, 4) Kanji writing error, and 5) error word change. The error is caused by five factors, namely, 1) Language Transfer, 2) Overgeneralization 3) Transfer of Training, 4) Learning Strategy 5) Communication Strategy Key words: Error analysis, Japanese words, IndonesianJapanese translation

Abstract

This study discusses about wasei eigo in Japanese textbook. Wasei eigo are Japanese language expressions that are coined in Japan from English words, that do not exist in Standard English or their meaning differ from the words from which they were derived. Wasei eigo grows rapidly in Japanese, hence wasei eigo frequently found in Japanese textbook. But, the difference of wasei eigo from Standard English becomes problem in understanding the meaning of wasei eigo itself. This study aimed to identify wasei eigo among loanwords in Japanese textbook. Then, those words were classified based on theory by Shibasaki, Tamaoka and Takatori. By knowing the classification of the wasei eigo hopefully will help Japanese language learners in understanding the use and the meaning of wasei eigo. The type of research is qualitative research with descriptive method. Data sources for this research are Minna no Nihongo Shoukyuu 1 and 2. This study showed that there are 27 wasei eigo found in Japanese textbook (Minna no Nihongo Shoukyuu 1 and 2). This study found that based on Shibasaki theory, there are 5 datas of wasei eigo which are classified to imizurekata, 8 datas are classified to tanshukukata, 1 data is classified to junwaseikata, 4 datas are classified to eigohyougenfuzaikata, 8 datas are classified to imizurekata and tanshukukata, and last 1 data that is classified to other than the four of categories.Keyword: Wasei eigo, japlish, loanwords

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah suatu kajian sintaksis dan semantis mengenai setsuzokujoshi noni dan temo dalam percakapan serial drama Jepang. Noni dan temo sering digunakan oleh orang Jepang dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, salah satunya sering ditemukan juga penggunaannya dalam acara televisi, serial drama Jepang, dan lain-lain. Noni dan temo merupakan salah satu materi pembelajaran pada jenjang S1. Dalam tesis ini penulis mencoba untuk mendeskripsikan apakah materi noni dan temo yang diberikan di bangku perkuliahan sama dengan penggunaannya dalam realita kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Jepang.Menurut para ahli makna noni dan temo dikategorikan menjadi masing-masing empat makna sesuai konteks kalimatnya, noni yang bermakna konsekwensi yang gagal, hubungan yang kontras, diluar prediksi, serta menyatakan perasaan kecewa. Sementara temo bermakna untuk menyatakan hal yang kontradiksi, kalimat majemuk, pertanyaan terhadap suatu hal, serta bermakna kenyataan dan kebalikan dari kenyataan. Selain kategorisasi tersebut, akan dilihat fungsi noni dan temo yang digunakan bersama pada kalimat bermakna keadaan, aktifitas, pengaruh, maksud atau keinginan, serta kalimat tanya.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa makna dan fungsi noni dan temo yang dikemukakan oleh para ahli, semuanya muncul pada serial drama Jepang. Sementara pada teks bahan ajar ada yang tidak muncul. Yaitu, noni yang bermakna mengontraskan suatu hal tidak ditemukan. Kemudian, pada teks bahan ajar, temo yang digunakan bersama kalimat bermakna pengaruh, kalimat yang bermakna maksud atau keinginan tidak ditemukan. Selanjutnya, noni yang digunakan bersama kalimat yang bermakna aktifitas, kalimat yang bermakna pengaruh, kalimat yang bermakna maksud atau keinginan, serta kalimat tanya  tidak ditemukan.                             Kata kunci: noni, temo, serial drama Jepang, sintaksis, semantis

Abstract

Expressing opinion is a speech act that can be considered unpolite if delivered in a direct speech. Therefore, when expressing their opinions Japanese people often use various speech act constructions so that their opinions are not too straight to the point. This is done in order to respect and maintain the interlocutor’s feeling. In this study, the author examines speech acts expressing opinions in everyday conversation by looking at the construction used and its meaning. This research is limited to speech acts expressing opinions or facts in conversations on 1 Rittoru no Namida drama series. The method that used in this reseach is descriptive method. From the results of the study it was found that when expressing opinions or facts, speakers in the drama series 1 Rittoru no Namida used various constructions. The most widely used construction is guess construction. In addition, the construction of approval requests construction, avoidance construction, considerations construction, and elliptical construction are also used on the conversations.Keywords: speech acts, expressing opinions, 1 Rittoru no Namida

Abstract

Dalam berkomunikasi dengan bahasa Jepang pujian merupakan ungkapan yang sering digunakan oleh orang Jepang dalam membuka sebuah percakapan dan merupakan sebuah prototipe orang Jepang bahwa mereka sangat sering memuji lawan bicara. Sebagai pembelajar bahasa Jepang yang nantinya akan berinteraksi langsung dengan penutur asli bahasa Jepang. Penting untuk mengetahui respon seperti apa yang akan digunkan sebagai penelitian pendahuluan. Penelitian ini mengenai respon terhadap pujian pembelajar bahasa Jepang Indonesia, khususnya pembelajar bahasa Jepang UPI tingkat IV. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembelajar bahasa Jepang merespon pujian dalam bahasa Jepang.Hasil dari Data dikumpulkan dengan Discourse Complement Test (DCT) , yang terdiri dari 18 situasi kepada 20 sampel penelitian adalah Pembelajar bahasa Jepang banyak merespon pujian dengan kategori menerima dan dengan strategi yang paling banyak digunakan adalah menolak pujian. Pembelajar bahasa Jepang menggunakan kategori menerima sesuai dengan teori kesantunan apabila kita menerima pujian maka, dianggap menjaga positif face lawan bicara.Keyword : Respon Terhadap Pujian, Pembelajar bahasa Jepang

Abstract

This study examines teaching material on basic level especially textboo that focusing on communication in Japanese education. This study aims to compare two teaching materials that focus on communication competency. This research is a comparative qualitative study. The main data are the textbook of “Marugoto A1” and “J Bridge for Beginner Vol. 1”. These two textbooks are for students who learn L2 for a nonnative speaker. These two books were analysed from the point of view of teaching material analysis. We analysed the flow of learning contents and the composition of the textbook through teaching material analysis by Yoshioka (2016) theory. The results show that two subject textbooks used the same topic syllabus approach at the same basic level. This syllabus is a syllabus mainly suitable for learners in basic to intermediate levels. However, since both the textbook`s main purpose is on actual communication, it is possible that they use topic syllabus even at the first stage of beginner level.Keywords: textbook analysis; natural approach, comparative study

Abstract

Pada Bahasa Jepang maupun Bahasa Indonesia, dijumpai jenis kalimat luas bertingkat yang menyatakan syarat. Pada Bahasa Indonesia, jenis kalimat ini ditandai oleh penggunaan konjungsi kalau dalam kalimat. Sedangkan pada Bahasa Jepang, kalimat yang menyatakan syarat diwujudkan dengan penggunaan partikel to, ba, dan tara. Artikel ini berisi tentang deskripsi persamaan dan perbedaan to, ba, tara dalam Bahasa Jepang dan kalau dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Fokus pembahasan persamaan dan perbedaan diarahkan pada segi makna, kategori predikat, dan modus kalimat. Kalau dalam Bahasa Indonesia memiliki tujuh kategori makna. To memiliki tujuh kategori makna, ba empat kategori makna, dan tara tiga kategori makna.   Sehingga, kalau dalam bahasa Indonesia menjadi divergen ketika diterjemahkan dalam bahasa Jepang. Ada lima makna dari kalau yang bisa dipadankan langsung dengan to, sedangkan dua makna lain lebih tepat dipadankan dengan ba atau tara. Untuk memilih padanan yang tepat, hal yang perlu diperhatikan adalah makna serta modus kalimat dari bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Jepang; khususnya makna serta modus yang menunjukkan gejala shinki, ketsujo dan bunretsu. Dari segi kategori predikat dalam kalimat, baik bahasa Jepang maupun bahasa Indonesia menunjukkan karakteristik yang berpadanan. Tetapi, dari segi modus kalimat,  khusus untuk ba, saat modus menyatakan imperatif, permohonan, saran, ajakan atau kalimat yang menyatakan maksud predikat tidak bisa berupa verba; kecuali jika subjek dalam klausa I dan klausa II berbeda. Juga, diperbolehkan jika predikat dalam klausa I menjelaskan kondisi dari topik klausa. Kata kunci: analisis kontrastif, to, ba, tara, kalau
