Abstract

ABSTRACTThe complexity of the translation process can lead to errors in translation. This case study analyzes the misuse of the Japanese word in Indonesian-Japanese translation. The data source is the nine scientific works of students majoring in Japanese. The results of the analysis show five categorizations of error: 1) Mistakes of inappropriate vocabulary in the sentence. 2) Error adding and omission of words in sentence, 3) Error writing letters saya, 4) Kanji writing error, and 5) error word change. The error is caused by five factors, namely, 1) Language Transfer, 2) Overgeneralization 3) Transfer of Training, 4) Learning Strategy 5) Communication Strategy Key words: Error analysis, Japanese words, IndonesianJapanese translation

Abstract

Abstract

This research entitled " Use of Instagram  in Kanji Learning, sees that  still many students who have difficulty in learn kanji, especially in remembering kanji caused by several things based on preliminary observations of the lack of interest of Japanese students in kanji and many consider it is difficult to learn kanji. The object of this research is the 5th semester Japanese language students who are actively using Instagram. This research used  action research method. Data analysis result showed that of the 435 students who posted kanji via Instagram, most of them used features on Instagram and adjusted them to their ability to remember kanji, such as by association of images, interesting videos and videos of kanji writing sequences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang akulturasi budaya Jepang pada nama dan menu restoran di kota Bandung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan akulturasi budaya Jepang yang muncul pada nama dan menu makanan dan minuman restoran di kota Bandung, kemudian menelaah dampak yang muncul dari akulturasi budaya tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan penulis adalah observasi dan wawancara, dimana penulis mengadakan pengamatan secara langsung dan sistematis serta berhadapan langsung dengan para responden, lalu kemudian data diolah. Hasil penelitian ini akan menunjukan bahwa terdapat berbagai macam akulturasi budaya Jepang yang terjadi pada restoran di kota Bandung dari nama, dan dari menu tidak hanya budaya Jepang namun menu bernuansa Eropa pun memberikan warna dan berakulturasi dengan budaya Indonesia di restoran dan merupakan hal utama untuk memberikan image ke khalayak sehingga menjadi bentuk iklan yang baik kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Penerjemahan pada prosesnya merupakan suatu hal yang kompleks, sehingga besar kemungkinan bahwa dalam proses penerjemahan banyak sekali ditemukan permasalahan yang dapat menyebabkan timbulnya kesalahan penerjemahan. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian studi kasus (Case Study) penulis berusaha mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan kesalahan sintaksis penggunaan struktur kalimat yang muncul dalam penerjemahan dari bagian latar belakang thesis mahasiswa bahasa Jepang UPI Bandung. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa dari 45 kesalahan yang ditemukan dan kesalahan pola kalimat yang paling banyak muncul, sedangkan kesalahan akibat penghilangan bagian dari kata dalam kalimat, kesalahan urutan kata dan kesalahan penambahan kata dalam kalimat muncul namun tidak terlalu dominan.

Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate condolence strategies used by a group of Indonesians lecturers to obituaries announced in a WhatsApp group. The study seeks to answer kind of condolence strategies used by the members and the condolence sequences expressed by the members. Since data is gathered from a computer mediated communication, i.e. instant messaging, this study uses a netnopragmatic approach, an approach to studying the use of language in online communities, coined from netnography research method, an ethnographic research done in online communities. The study shows that the members mostly recite Quranic verses and pray for God's mercy and forgiveness for the deceased in expressing their condolences. The result is due to the faith that most members have, i.e. Islam, which teaches them to pray when they first hear bad news. It can be clearly seen that expressing condolences is influenced by the faith of the condolence giver; not the religion that the deceased held.

Abstract

This research will discuss about language development in its use as a publication media on ads (advertisements). Ads makers are usually trying to make ads with interesting forms, in order to drive consumers interest on their products. However, in adss words (writing) making process, there are often confusions on putting words into sentences, or the words selection as well. This phenomenon is also emerging in the ads that uses Japanese. Sometimes the Japanese writing rules and norms are often overlooked and only consider its aesthetic point, until many errors occurs both in its writing or in the words meaning. Researchers formulate two problems that appear in this descriptive research, i.e. what kinds of syntax errors that appear in the ads writing that use Japanese and what kinds of things that infuenced the emergence of these writing mistakes. The results of this research are two mistakes, 12 phrasemistakes and one sentence error. The cause of these mistakes occurrence is mainly due to errors in typing or misstyping. Other mistakes are caused by human errors in the process of ads making, and mistakes due to technical problems such as damage to ads media.
