Abstract

PISA 2018 to improve literacy skills involves three competencies: 1) explaining phenomena scientifically, 2) evaluating and designing scientific literacy, and 3) interpreting data and evidence scientific literacy. These competencies require scientific literacy knowledge, namely content, procedural, and epistemic. The research presents the results of the interactive chemical bond e-module based on nature of science to improve scientific knowledge of scientific literacy. The method uses Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) The results of the e-module validity of each component, such as: material, scientific literacy, Nature of Science (NoS), presentation and language, are categorized as very feasible. The results of the e-module practicality of each component, such as: material, scientific literacy, Nature of Science (NoS), presentation and language, are categorized as very practical. The results of the e-module effectiveness obtained from the literacy test questions used to test the scientific knowledge of students with varying N-gain values, namely 0.81 at content knowledge, 0.84 at procedural knowledge, and 0.84 at epistemic knowledge.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills on the reaction rate material by implementing a guided inquiry based on a contextual approach. The subjects were students of class XI MIA 7 SMA Negeri 1 Gedangan with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The methods used to collect data are observations, tests, and response questionnaires. The research instruments used were critical thinking skills test sheets, observation sheet of learning model implementation, students activity observation sheets, and students response questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative techniques assisted by SPSS 23. The results showed that (1) The percentage of the implementation of the guided inquiry with a contextual-based approach at I and II meetings is 98.66% (very good) and 99.48% (very good). (2) The relevant activities of students at I meeting is 98.06% and at II meeting is 97.78%. (3) Students' critical thinking skills are successfully improved with an average gain score on the interpretation indicator is 0.85 (high), the inference indicator is 0.82 (high), the analysis indicator is 0.77 (high), and explanation indicator is 0.75 (high). (4) Students' positive response to the learning model implementation is 96.35% (very good). The results showed that students' critical thinking skills on the reaction rate material were successfully improved by implementing a guided inquiry learning model based on a contextual approach.

Abstract

The aims of this study: (1) analyze the feasibility of LKPD with a contextual approach, (2) analyze the practicality of LKPD with a contextual approach, (3) analyze the effectiveness of LKPD with a contextual approach to improve students' scientific literacy skills. LKPD with this contextual approach helps students in linking the influence of unhealthy living culture on the health of the excretory organ system in humans. This study uses the Thiagarajan 4D (Four-D Model) development model, consisting of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The dissemination stage was not carried out, this research was only limited to testing the feasibility and effectiveness of the product. The results showed that: (1) LKPD with a contextual approach was feasible, judging from the results of the material validator 3.54 (very good), the results of the media validator 3.89 (very good), and the results of the teacher validator 3 (very good), ( 2) the results of the analysis of the students' responses are 3.12 (very good), (3) based on the results of the analysis of N-Gain and Effect Size, LKPD with a contextual approach is effective in improving students' scientific literacy skills (N-Gain 0.56 (moderate) Effect Size 1.22 (height)). Based on the analysis of the Paired Sample T Test, there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores.

Abstract

A skill needed in the 21st-century learning is scientific literacy (SL). Ethnoscience integrated inquiry-based learning (IBL) is expected to train the SL. The SL ability can be measured using an instrument. The purposes of the research were i) to produce a valid and reliable instrument on the ability to measure the SL using ethnoscience integrated IBL and ii) to know the item analysis results of the item test. The research method used was research and development (RnD) with instrument development. Data collection techniques were questionnaires and tests. The instruments of data collection were validation sheets and assessment instruments on SL ability. The data analysis technique used was both descriptive qualitative and quantitative techniques. The qualitative analysis was aimed to determine the product quality using Aiken's V theory. The quantitative analysis aimed to determine the product quality empirically using Rasch model. A valid and reliable instrument was produced with 15 test items for additive substances topic with integrated ethnoscience in learning.

Abstract

The study aimed to find out the effect of online learning using Smansa Ende online on motivation to learn physics and the effect of online learning using Smansa Ende online on physics learning outcomes, to students in class XI at SMA Negeri 1 Ende for the academic year 2020/2021. Quantitative research was used to examine the causal relationships that were not treated by researchers and the occurred activities. The data collection techniques were questionnaires and documentation. The population was 71 students of class XI MIPA 4 and XI MIPA 5 at SMAN 1 Ende, with a research sample of 36 students of class XI MIPA 5. The hypothesis testing using linear regression t-test showed that H1 and H2 were accepted, with a significance value of H1 being less than 0.05 (0.026 0.050). Then, there was an effect of online learning using Smansa Ende Online on learning motivation. Meanwhile, the significant value of H2 was less than 0.05 (0.007 0.050). Then, there was an effect of online learning using Smansa Ende Online on learning motivation.
