Abstract

BeratBadanmerupakansalahsatu parameter yang memberikangambaranmassatubuh. Beratbadan yang normal atau ideal bilatinggibadandanberatbadanseimbang.Batasanberatbadan normal orang dewasaditentukanberdasarkannilaiIndeks Massa Tubuh.Salah satufaktorrisiko DMT2 adalahIndeks Massa Tubuh (IMT).Penelitianinibertujuanuntukmelihatapakahadaperbedaankadarguladarahpuasaberdasarkanindeksmassatubuh.Penelitianinidilakukandenganmetodecross sectional. PopulasipenelitianadalahMahsiswapoltekkeskemenkesbengkuludengantekniksecaraaccidental sampling sebanyak 46 orang, sampel yang digunakanadalahdarahkapiler yang kemudiankadarguladarahpuasanyadiperiksamenggunakanalatglukometer. Penelitianiniterdiridariduavariabel, yaitukadarguladarahpuasasebagaivariabel dependent danindeksmassatubuhsebagaivariabel independent.Dari hasilpenelitiandenganmenggunakanuji t- independent didapatkannilai p value 0,00. Dimananilai p value α (0,000,005) dapat di simpulkan Ada perbedaankadarguladarahpuasaberdasarkan IMT padaMahasiswadipoltekeskemenkesbengkulu.

Abstract

 This study aims to treat salacca peel and secang wood waste into herbal tea and analyze the phytochemical content and antioxidant capacity and organoleptic test of the products made. Salak skin waste samples were taken at the salak center in Sibetan Village and secang wood obtained in Tenganan Village, Karangasem. Antioxidant capacity testing was carried out in the Laboratory Service Unit of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at UNUD, and phytochemical tests at the Health Polytechnic Department of Denpasar. Organoleptic tests were carried out on 20 panelists. Tea is made by mixing secang wood powder which has been mashed with salak skin powder using 3 variations, namely VR1 (1.5 gram: 0.5 gram), VR2 (1gram: 1 gram), VR3 (0.5 gram: 1.5 gram) ), then soaked in hot water and analyzed.The results showed that Cang Salak Tea with variations of VR1, VR2, and VR3 has active phytochemical content of flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, terpenoids, and phenols. These compounds have the potential for degenerative diseases. Antioxidant capacity in VR1, VR2, and VR3 are 343.88; 183.88, and 92.12 mg / L GAEAC. The difference in content is caused by the presence of antioxidants in higher secang wood compared to bark. The tea has the potential to be developed into an antioxidant drink which is useful for the prevention and control of degenerative diseases. Organoleptic tests showed that Cang Salak tea products with various variations were favored by panelists. The most preferred color is in VR1, the aroma is on VR3, and it feels on VR2. Future studies require strength tests of antioxidant activity and in vitro or in vivo testing of Cang Salak tea for degenerative diseases

Abstract

Background. the intestine microflora performs a number of functions such as fermenting unused energy substrates, training the immune system, preventing the growth of harmful species, regulating the development of the intestine and producing vitamins.Purpose. to find out the morphology of bacterial colonies in the digestive tract of Chepalopholis miniata from Kusamba Fish Market, Klungkung Regency.Method. the research is a descriptive exploratory observational study. Grouper faeces are planted in Blood Agar and Mac Concey agar then incubated for 24 hours at 37ºC. Pure isolates were observed macroscopically and microscopically.Results. the morphology of the colony is round and white, the edges of the colony are flat and irregular, the elevations are flat and convex. All isolates were gram-positive in the form of round cells (streptococcus and staphylococcus) and stems (bacilli and streptobacilli).Conclusion. Five bacterial isolates were successfully isolated from the digestive tract of the Cephalopholis miniata.

Abstract

An examination of leukocytes count and type of 30 e-cigarettes smokers has been done. E-cigarettes are a substitute for tobacco cigarettes which are categorized as safer because of fewer toxins. But the nicotine content in cigarettes can affect the immune system which is related to the leukocytes count and type. This study aims to describe the leukocytes count and types of in e-cigarette smokers who have used more than one month. Methods of examination using haematology analyser and peripheral blood smear. The results showed that the leukocytes count in 1 sample was low, 4 samples were high, and 25 other samples were normal. For leukocytes types, in 14 samples showed a type of cell abnormality by showing an increase in the number of eosinophils, neutrophils, lymphocytes and monocytes. It can be concluded that there are abnormalities in leukocyte counts and changes in leukocyte cell types in e-cigarette users.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Infection is a disease caused by pathogenic microbes and is very dynamic. ISPA is defined as an acute respiratory disease caused by infectious agents that were transmitted from human to human. One of the microbes that caused ISPA is Streptococcus pyogenes, which is a gram-positive bacteria and belongs to Streptococcus sp. β-hemolytic class A. Nowadays, many people are begin to use natural materials to deal with microbial infections. One of them is the betel leaf (Piper betle Linn.) Which has antibacterial and antibiotic components for the treatment of respiratory problems, and bacterial infectious diseases.Purpose: This research was conducted with the aim to know the antibacterial activity of betel leaves (Piper betle Linn) decoction against Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. Methods: This research used true experimental design with Posttest Only Control Design, and data analysis with One Way Anova and Least Significant Deference (LSD). Betel leaves decoction water is made in concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%, then tested on Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria with two replicates and four repetitions.Result: From a total of 40 data obtained, the mean diameter of the inhibitory zone at each concentrations is 20% 0 mm, 40% 12.9 mm, 60% 22.7 mm, 80% 25.5 mm, and 100% 30 mm.Conclution: Betel leaves decoction water is able to inhibit the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes with significant difference of drag zone diameter at each concentration.  Keywords: Antibacterial, Betel Leaves, Streptococcus pyogenes

Abstract

Background : Cupping is one type of natural treatment by suctioning the skin, cutting and removing blood from the skin surface. Cupping works for various diseases, can cure acute, chronic and degenerative diseases, such as high blood pressure and hypercholesterolemia. Cupping therapy has been carried out since thousands of years BC. Cupping consists of dry cupping and wet cupping.Method : This study used a pre-experimental design method for the One Group Pre test Post test.  The examination method for Total cholesterol and Triglyceride levels was carried out using the CHOD - PAP (Cholesterol Oxydase Para Amino Phenazone) method and GPO - PAP (Glycerol-3-Phosphate Oxydase Para Amino Phenazone). Data were analyzed by T-Test.Result : Total cholesterol levels before wet cupping 231 mg / dl and after wet cupping therapy 220 mg / dl (p = 0.000) (r = 0.803) and Triglyceride levels before wet cupping 184 mg / dl and after wet cupping therapy 159 mg / dl (p = 0,000) (r = 0.901). There is a relationship between wet cupping therapy with a decrease in Total Cholesterol and Triglycerides in hypercholesterolemic patients in the working area of the Pinyuh River Inpatient Health Center.Conclusion : For the development of science it is recommended that further research be conducted on the effects of wet cupping therapy on clinical chemical parameters such as creatinine, gout, blood glucose levels, and other blood parameters.

Abstract

Background: Erythrocyte sedimentation rate is a hematological parameter that measures sedimentation speed of erythrocytes in the blood with anticoagulants placed vertically on a standard pipette for one hour and expressed in mm / hour. One factors that influence the erythrocyte sedimentation rate is dilution factor. Purposed: This study was intended to determine the difference of Westergren blood erythrocyte sedimentation rate in EDTA blood using diluent sodium citrate 3.8% and 0.85% NaCl.Method: This research is an experiment with a posttest only control group design. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate was carried out by the Westergren method on 30 EDTA blood samples. The control group used diluen NaCl 0.85% and the treatment group used diluent sodium citrate 3.8%.Result: The average erythrocyte sedimentation rate using a NaCl 0.85% solution is 19.77 mm/hour while the erythrocyte sedimentation rate using diluent sodium citrate 3.8% solution 17.53 mm/hour. Independent sample T-test obtained pɑ (0.05) means that there was no difference in Westergren erythrocyte sedimentation rate results in EDTA anticoagulants using diluent sodium citrate 3.8% and NaCl 0.85%.Conclusion: Sodium citrate 3.8%  can be considered to be diluted for EDTA blood for examination of the Westergren method erythrocyte sedimentation rate in addition to  NaCl 0.85%. Keywords: Erythrocyte Sedimentation rate; Westergren method; EDTA blood; Sodium citrate 3.85; NaCl 0.85%.

Abstract

Abstract. Lawar Bali is processed meat or minced vegetables that could occur contamination of bacteria in cultivation. Indonesian National Standart (SNI) 7388 in 2009 about maximum limit contamination of microbe in food, traditional food Lawar Bali included in processed meat product for contamination microbe APM Coliform that is 10/g. The aim of this research is to know influence of storage time towards contamination level of Coliform bacteria in traditional food Lawar Bali. This research is true experiment research (true experiment design) with posttest only control group design (control group with posttest) towards 25 units trial using five parameter time measurement that is zero hour, two hours, four hours, six hours and eight hours as much as five times repetition. Result of this research is showing that from 5 treatments influence storage time that given on 25 samples which is examined towards contamination level of Coliform bacteria in traditional food Lawar Bali there is reduction amount contamination Coliform bacteria in traditional food Lawar Bali each types of treatment in succession is on 0 hour with average about 178/gram, 2 hours with average 63/gram, 4 hours with average  19,4/gram, 6 hours with average 3,24/gram, and 8 hours with average 3,12/gram. Statistics analysis on Kruskal Wallis Test shows value sig 0,000(p0,05) so there is influence of storage time on contamination level Coliform bacteria in traditional food Lawar Bali. Abstract

Abstract. Urine is the rest of the body's metabolism that is released through the process of urinalization. Urine examination aims to determine the condition of the kidney and other urinary tracts. Delays in examinations in the laboratory often occur resulting in disturbed urine stability. This study aims to determine the effect of delays on the number of urine leukocytes in patients with urinary tract infections. This research with posttest only control group design using four control and treatment groups each consisting of 9 samples. The control group is the result of urine examination which is examined before 30 minutes while the treatment group is the result of urine examination after 1, 2 and 3 hours since being collected. The results showed an average difference between the control and treatment groups, especially there was a significant reduction in the 3-hour delay group.Keywords: urine leukocytes, delay in urine examination

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground Pseudomonas aeruginosa is negative gram bacteria which cause urinary tract infection. Encok root contains tannins, alkaloids, saponins, tri-terpenoids and flavonoids. The purpose This purpose is to observe the antibacterial activities on encok root ethanol extract with various concentrations towards Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria growth. The Method The type of experiment used true experiment with posttest only control group design using Kirby-Bauer diffusion discs method on five concentrations (20%, 35%, 50%, 65% and 80%), work controls (Ciprofloxacin 5µg) and negatif control (96% ethanol). The result showed that the average diameter of inhibition zone of encok root ethanol extract at concentration 20% (10,5 mm), 35% ( 11,7 mm), 50% (11,8 mm) 65% (12,3 mm) and 80% (15,3 mm). These five concentration have medium until strong inhibition potential. Statistic analysis with One Way Anova the value of p(0,000)α(0,05). In Least Significant Difference test showed the significant different of inhibition zone in each extract concentration. Conclusion This examination showed that antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of encok root with various concentrations (20%, 35%, 50%, 65% and 80%) was difference in towards the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.Keyword: Encok roots, antibacterial activity, Pseudomonas aeruginosa
