Abstract

Microalgae is known as a raw materials of pharmaceutical industry, it contains various chemical compounds such as protein, fatty acid, pigments and vitamins. The compound can be use as a basic ingredient of pharmaceutical also can be use as a treatment or prevention agent such as cancer and high cholesterol. Chlorella sp. is a green microalgae which can be found in Indonesia marine area, it also has a high enough of lipid. Compotition of fatty acid from marine microalgae Chlorella sp that cultivated with modification medium has been analyzed. Microalgae culture cultivated with GM 10% as a medium for 8 days. 51,55 L culture produced a 31,0537 gr dry biomass. 31,0537 gr dry biomass Soxhletation produced about 12,8818% w/w oil rendemen. The results of GC-MS analysis, there are 3 types of fatty acids identified in microalgae Chlorella Sp. The composition are palmitic acid (13,34%), linoleic acid (5,39%) and oleic acid (16,40%). Abstract

Limus (Mangifera foetida Lour.) Is one of the local Indonesian fruits of the anacardiaceae family. Limus contain secondary metabolites that have pharmacological effects, including the kernel waste of the seeds of the fruit. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli on the fraction of kernel seed of limus fruits ethanolic extract in invitro using solid diffusion method with positive control Tetracycline HCl. The extraction process was carried out by maceration method, then fractionation was obtained to obtain the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction. Based on the result of the research, the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction of kernel ethanol extract limus fruit seed have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The highest activity was shown by fraction of ethyl acetate with minimum killing concentration (KBM) to Staphylococcus aureus was 5% with diameter equal to 4,33 ± 1.17 mm equal to 30,27 μg / mL Tetracycline HCl, and KBM value to Escherichia coli.4% (7.60 ± 0.14) mm equivalent to 26, 04 μg / mL Tetracycline HCl. Abstract

Surgical services are hospital services which often lead to medical injuries and complications such as wound infection (ILO) and anesthetic complications are becoming one of the most common causes of serious surgical complications. Provision of appropriate drug therapy, safe, effective and patient safety standards and monitoring operations can be reduces the incidence of complications and mortality of patients. The use of appropriate drug therapy, safe and effective can be determined by evaluation of the use of drugs. This study aims to describe the pattern of drug use and appropriateness of using the drug in patients in the preoperative surgical installation of central dr. Soekardjo Tasikmalaya which include proper indications, the exact dosage and drug interactions. This study is a cross-sectional, Data collection was done prospectively and statistical data. Data generated from the 120 patients who met the inclusion criteria preoperative inaccuracy indications showed 22.5%; inaccuracy dose of 22.9% and 87.5% of potential drug interactions. Keywords: preoperative, drug use evaluation, Antibiotic prophylaxis, anesthesia.

Abstract

Pengomposan merupakan salah satu sumber dalam mencari mikroorganisme potensial penghasil enzim Selama proses pengomposan, terjadi perubahan komunitas mikroorganisme yang disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti perubahan suhu. Proses pengomposan pada penelitan ini terbagi menjadi 5 tahap pengomposan yaitu fasa inisiasi/ awal pengomposan (suhu pengomposan 28oC), mesofilik pertama (suhu 50 oC), termofilik (suhu 55 oC), mesofilik kedua (suhu 50 oC) dan fasa pematangan (suhu 37 oC). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi bakteri potensial yang dapat menghasilkan enzim amilase, selulase, xilanase dan lipase pada fase pematangan/ fase akhir pada proses pengomposan manur sapi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bakteri F5A yaitu bakteri potensial dari hasil fase pematangan/fase akhirkompos manur sapi.  Bakteri ini sangat potensial karena memiliki aktivitas amilase, selulase, xilanase dan lipase. Dari hasil analisis filogenetik diketahui bahwa bakteri F3A memiliki homologi terdekat dengan Viridibacillus arenosi dengan kemiripan 98%. Kata Kunci:   Amilase, Lipase, Selulase, Xilanase, Viridibacillus arenosi

Abstract

Background : Giving the drug information and counceling are parts of pharmacist clinical task as be stated in ministry of health statue number 35 year 2014 on Pharmacy service standar in community pharmacy (Permenkes no 35 tahun 2017 tentang standar pelayanan kefarmasian di apotek). Through these tasks, pharmacist can inprove the patient therapy outcome. Aim : The purpose o this study was to describe the clinical service of  drug information in community pharmacies (CP) at South Tangerang City. Methods : This was a descriptive-explorative study with survey technic. Sample were the 50 CPs and clinical pharmacy services were evaluated on their pharmacist who could be met at the visiting time. Results & Conclusion : Thirty eight percent of pharmacists could be met at the visiting time. The highest percentage of drug information service is drug usage (72,22%) whereas the lowest are drug interaction and the way of its prevention i.e 5,55%.  The quality of pharmacy clinical service of drug information is 41,66% and meet the bad criteria. The clinical pharmacy service of drug information in south Tangerang has not been run well and met the Pharmacy service standard yet. Keywords: drug information service, pharmacit, south tangerang, community pharmacy.

Abstract

Monascus purpureus is a mold capable of producing pigment as secondary metabolites. Pigments of Monascus purpureus isolated from rice fermented solid known as red yeast rice. This study was conducted toMonascus purpureus know the potential in generating new compounds of pigment produced by solid fermentation process with rice as a substrate. The results indicate insulation compounds and new compounds of pigment Monascus purpureus. Beginning with an analysis of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) using the mobile phase n-hexane and ethyl acetate (7:3) with a Rf value obtained was 0.71. Analysis with UV-Vis spectrophotometry against red yeast rice extract aims to determine the maximum wavelength. The results of the analysis of UV-Vis spectrophotometry obtained one peak an absorption at 0.255 with a wavelength of 486 nm which showed that the red pigment monascorubramin compounds in Monascus purpureus. Isolation of Monascus purpureus pigments by Preparative Thin Layer Chromatography (Preparative TLC) using the mobile phase n-hexane and ethyl acetate (7:3). Results isolation pigment Monascus purpureus form of a ribbon that can fluoresces atλ 365 nm UV light with a Rf value obtained was 0.73 were further identification of the molecular weights of compounds Monascus purpureus using HPLC instruments with detectors MS (Mass Spectrometer). The results of LC-MS analysis of a sample INACC-F01 showed a new compound which has a molecular weight of 357.41 and based on the literature that the same compounds with molecular weight is Monascopyridine C which is a derived compound from Monascus red pigment that is monascorubramin and rubropunctamin. Keywords:Monascus purpureus, pigment, angkak, Preparative TLC, LC-MS.

Abstract

Pumpking seed oil (Cucurbita pepo L.) popular as healthy oil and became natural antioxidant as consist of various unsaturated fatty acid, carotenoid, flavonoid and polyphenolic. The purpose of this research is to study the compounds on pumpkin seed oil that has antioxidant activity by determining fatty acids composition of the oil using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and antioxidant activity by inhibiting free-radical DPPH and determination of total polypheolic content as gallic acid using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Pumpkin seed oil was produced by solvent extraction with Soxhlet apparatus used as sample. Oil samples was reacted to form fatty acid methyl ester for component analysis by GC-MS determination. Antifree-redical activity was determined using UV-Vis spectrophotometry to count the IC50 value of concentration series of mixed samples and free-radical DPPH compared to vitamin C as standard antioxidant. Total poliphenolic content as gallic acid was determined using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry by reacting samples with Folin-Ciocalteau reagent. Pumpkin seed oil content at least 10 moderate chain fatty acid, saturated and unsaturated, volatile oil and carotenoid. Antixidant activity of pumpkin seed oil with IC50 value of 16,90(±0,28)mg/L in inhibiting free-radical DPPH and has total polyphenolic content as gallic acid of 0,212%.Keywords: pumpkin seed oil, antioxydant, DPPH free radical, polyphenolic, UV sepctrophotometry, GC-MS.

Abstract

Okra (Abelmoschus esculatus l. Moench) fruit has been used empirically and scientifically proven to have effect to control  blood cholesterol and blood glucose level. However, there has been no research on okra ethanol extract acute toxicity effect on hepatocyte. This research was aim to evaluate okra ethanol extract acute toxicity on liver using SGOT, SGPT and liver histopathology parameter after given 300 mg/kg bw (1 dose), 2000 mg/kg bw (dose 2) and 5000 mg/kg bw (3 doses) okra ethanol extract to female wistar rats. There were no significant differences on SGOT and SGPT level among all of experiment groups, but SGOT and SGPT increased along with increasing dosage. Histopathology showed no significant damage on hepatocytes. Okra ethanol extract has no acute toxic effect on the liver. Keywords: Okra, SGOT, SGPT, histopathology.

Abstract

Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil memiliki terpinen-4-ol yang berfungsi sebagai antibakteri dan anti jamur yang memiliki potensi efektivitas mengobati jerawat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formulasi pembuatan sediaan dan evaluasi sediaan emugel Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil dengan menggunakan Hidroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) sebagai gelling agent.Untuk memperoleh sediaan emulgel yang memiliki stabilitas baik maka dilakukan serangkaian tahapan penelitian mulai dari pengumpulan bahan baku, formulasi dan evaluasi sediaan emulgel Tea tre oil. Formulasi yang dibuat terdiri dari tiga formula yaitu F1, F2 dan F3 dengan variasi HPMC sebagai gelling agent. Evaluasi yang dilakukan adalah uji organoleptik, pH, homogenitas, daya sebar, viskositas, Cycling test dan uji hedonik. Analisis data hasil uji viskositas dan uji hedonik diolah dengan penjabaran deskriptif. Hasil uji hedonik menunjukan bahwa emulgel anti jerawat tea tree oil dapat diterima oleh responden. Kata kunci : emulgel, Melaleuca alternifolia, HPMC

Abstract

Indonesia has various types of plants those have potential as medicine to overcome health problems in line with the expanding of traditional medicine industry. One example of plants from the Zingiberaceae family is Hedychium coronarium, which is not widely known by the community despite it has efficacy as an antibacterial which is not inferior to other Zingiberaceae family. The research was conducted to determine whether the Hedychium coronarium rhizome shown to have antibacterial activity against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, knowing antibacterial compound that contained in Hedychium coronarium rhizome, also knowing the most effective extraction method to take the antibacterial compound from Hedychium coronarium rhizome. The gandasuli rhizome was extracted by maceration and reflux with 96% ethanol. Antibacterial activity test carried out by the agar diffusion method, and the analysis of antibacterial compounds with bioautography, and the results are monitored with vanillin-sulfuric acid. Maceration and reflux extract at a concentration of 90% has antibacterial activity with inhibition zones, each for 8 and 10 mm against Escherichia coli as well as 9 and 10 mm against Staphylococcus aureus. Bioautography results show a positive effect on the appearance of vanillin-sulfuric acid. Reflux extract has better antibacterial activity, while the antibacterial compound is an essential oil group. Keywords: Hedychium coronarium, antibacterial, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, bioautography.
