Abstract

Background: PMTCT was government program to suppres HIV/AIDS and child. The point of PMTCT activities was a strategy to prevent HIV/AIDS transmission from mothers living with HIV/AIDS to their child. However, there were mothers living with HIV/AIDS who have been too late knowing their status HIV status so that they did not join PMTCT.Method: This study aims to learn about HIV-positive mothers behavior in preventing of HIV/AIDS transmission from mother to child. This research was a quantitative with cross sectional approach. The data was collected from 32 mothers living with HIV/AIDS who had toddler babies in Central Java Province. Data were analyzed using univariate with frequency distribution, bivariate with chi square and fisher exact, and multivariate with logistic regression.Results: The result showed that the variable which correlated towards behavior of HIV-positive mothers in preventing HIV/AIDS transmission from mother to child were age of child, HIV status reveal time, time of joining ARV, joining PMTCT, time of joining PMTCT, and knowledge. While, knowledge was the main variable that has considerable influence on the behavior of HIV-positive mothers. From this research, can be conclude that knowledge can affect HIV-positive mother’s behavior.

Abstract

Background: Negative perception about condoms would cause preventing HIVAIDS behavior among men that risked will be low.The cohering of condoms perception in society caused by a social factor (external), personal factors (internal) as well as a combination of both. This study aims to know the perception were the condoms that there are among the risked man in Malang East Java and the factors that influence the perceptions itself.Method: Kind of this research is explanatory research with the cross sectional approach. Respondents in this research was man with the risk that come from four kinds of work that is a truck driver, cab drivers, factory workers people and fishermen, people with the number of respondents 350. Data analysis using univariat technique, bivariat by this chi-square multivariate and techniques with the logistic regression.Results: The research result show that there is 11 variable that has been analyze, there are 8 statistically variable are associated with the perception of condoms, the age variables, education, work, marital status, respondents experience about condoms, the attitude of respondents about condoms, media information, experience others about condoms and socialization health workers. Based on the results of the multivariate stated that that is together impact on perception among the man condoms that risked in Malang is in marital status. KPA Malang district should provide detailed and easily accessible information about condoms for men who are at risk, including demonstration use.Keywords: Perception, Condom, High Man risked

Abstract

Background: Based on a national data of proportion of domestics aged  ≥ 10 year old related to their smoking behaviour, Yogyakarta is 14th province with highest number of active smokers with a rate of 21,2% every day.  The purpose of this research is to analyze factors influencing students of junior high schools (SMP) in Yogyakarta regarding their assessment of PHW.Method: This research is a quantitative researh supported by qualitative data. The quantitative data were obtained by a cross sectional method, while the qualitative ones by case study approach. The samples were 403students who are in seventh grade at several SMPs in Yogyakarta.Informant of indepth interview were 2 teachers SMPs, and 10 students who are in seventh grade at several SMPs in Yogyakarta.Results: The results of this research show us that 49,1% of respondens have a negative assessment of PHW. The factors contributing to the assessment of SMP students in Yogyakarta were: exposure of PHW, with ρ value of 0,0001 (ρ < 0,05) and OR/Exp (B) of 16,610; knowledge of smoking with ρ value of 0,024 (ρ < 0,05) and OR/Exp (B) of 2,041; and age, with ρ value of 0,029 (ρ < 0,05) and OR/Exp (B) of 1,808. Indepth interview shows that PHW has not been able to make a smoker (SMP student) have assessment of PHW related to them intention to quit smoking. Key Words: PHW, Assessment, Junior High School Students, Cigarette

Abstract

Background: Equality role of government hospitals and private hospitals in improving the quality of health services in Indonesia, causing every hospital should provide a good service and quality. Nurses are part of hospital human resource that considerable influence on the quality of service, and the implementation of good nursing care can not be separated from therapeutic communication, then the optimal implementation of therapeutic communication by nurse is one of the efforts to improve services to the patients.Method: The type of this research was quantitative analytical, with a design using cross-sectional study.Results: The results showed a significant differences in the implementation of nurses therapeutic communication between public hospitals and private hospitals, where the implementation of nurses therapeutic communication in private hospital are better. Associated factors significantly with the implementation of nurses therapeutic communication in public hospitals and in private hospitals are the same, the variables are job satisfaction, work motivation, work climate, coworkers support and head of ward support. The most dominant factor that affects the compliance of nurses in government hospitals in implementing therapeutic communication is work motivation (OR 36.866), while in private hospitals is head of ward support (OR 28.598). Significant differences between the government hospitals and private hospitals appears on variables : age, period of work, attitude, job satisfaction, work motivation, work climate, coworker support , head of ward support, and the implementation of therapeutic communication itself. Keywords: Implementation, Therapeutic Communication, Government-Private Hospital

Abstract

Background: Fostering cadres is an important in improving the knowledge and skills of cadres in Posyandu activities. Skills of cadre will greatly assist in implementation of Posyandu. One of the elements that determine the success of increased knowledge and skills of cadres is the use of learning methods. The aim of the research to determine differences in knowledge and skills of cadres after getting training by learning methods based on problems and methods of learning Mind Mapping.Method: This research use quantitative research with quasi experimental methods, the design of non-randomized control group pre-test and post-test design. Samples are 109 health cadres working at Posyandu Madya which are further divided randomly into two treatment groups and one control group.Results: These results indicate that the cadre training with methods of fuel increased 1.28 more knowledge of the MM group. While the improvement of skill in the fuel group of 1.43 more than the MM group.Keywords:  Training of the Cadres, BBM methode, Mind Mapping methode

Abstract

Background: Semarang City had a highest cases of HIV and AIDS in Central Java. In order to provide health care service for People with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA), three from the five designated hospitals were actively providing Care, Support and Treatment (CST) as a referral hospital for PLWHA in Semarang City. HIV-related discrimination is one of the barrier in the response to HIV and AIDS that influenced PLWHA to seek HIV treatment and lost of HIV treatment because they were afraid of getting stigma and discrimination in health care facilities. Some research have indicated that there were stigma and discrimination by health workers, including doctors. This study aims to find out doctors practices in providing health care to patients with HIV and AIDS in a referral hospital in Semarang City.Method: This study used qualitative methods. The data collecting used indepth interview. The data was collected from 13 doctors as a primary informants and triangulation with 3 HIV team leader.Results: The results showed that the majority of doctors practice was good, they did not discriminate when providing care or treatment to patients with HIV and AIDS. However, there were still a some doctors who discriminate when providing care for patients with HIV and AIDS such as the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was more strictly when dealing with patients of PLWHA like using double gloves. Most doctors have a good knowledge and positive attitudes towards HIV and AIDS. However, there were some doctors who has less understanding of HIV and AIDS.Keywords : doctor practice, HIV and AIDS patients, hospitals

Abstract

Background: Comfortable workplace is one of the factors supporting morale. The work environment is hot and humid will reduce labor productivity, it will also have negative impacts on health and safety. Warmer temperatures result in lower performance primarily thinking. Decreased ability to think happened after the temperature has exceeded 32 0 C. The temperature within the furnace area of 34.9 0 C, which exceeds the standardized NAV of 30.5 0 C. The purpose of this is to research analyze control of heat stress on the workforce section furnace PT.X Pangkalpinang Bangka Belitung.Method: This study used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews on 8 key informants, 5 labor section of the production and management 3. Analysis of the data using content analysis.Results: The results showed that all informants reveal the temperature within the furnace hot work area in accordance with the results of temperature measurements in the field at 34.9 0 C exceeds the threshold standardized, control heat stress with training (education or training on heat stress control and controlling the risk of heat stress) is not routinely executed, control with fluid replacement has been provided by the company but the rules and patterns of consumption have not been implemented, control with acclimatization yet implemented in the company.Keywords: heat stress, control, worker

Abstract

Background: The rate of the spread of HIV/ AIDS that more and more worrisome needs an integrated tackling from various parties such as the government, non – governmental organizations, includes religious figures. Religious leader is believed that they have a strategic role in tackling the bad effect, at the same time break the chain of the spread of HIV and AIDS. This research aimed to know the factors that influence the stigma of religious figures towards people living with HIV/ AIDS.Method: The kind of the research isanalytical correlational with crossectional approach. The data was collected from 164 the religious figures. Data were analyzed using univariate with frequency distribution, bivariate with Chi-square, and multivariate with logistic regression.Result: The result showed that factors related to The stigma towards people living with HIV were knowledge about HIV/AIDS, value/belief and friend’s support. Knowledge about HIV/AIDS was the main factor that has considerable influence to The stigma towards people living with HIV. From this research, can be conclude that Knowledge about HIV/AIDS can affect The stigma towards people living with HIV besides value/belief and friend’s support.Keywords : The stigma towards people living with HIV, knowledge, religious figures

Abstract

Background: Stress that occurs in individuals will impact on the emergence of problems related to health, psychology and interpersonal interaction. In a physical disorder a person experiencing stress will be susceptible to disease, the mental disorders of prolonged stress will cause tension, it will damage the body and health problems. In interpersonal disorders stress will be more sensitive to loss of self-confidence, withdrawal and others. The support gained by PLWHA can be used as a coping or survival effort, as HIV / AIDS is not the end of everything, with good coping owned by PLWHA will be very helpful in antiretroviral treatment adherence and continue its life.Method: The type of research used is Explanatory Research, The time of the research will be done in September Year 2016 and the location of the research was conducted four shelters Surya Kasih Kota Jayapura. The sample in this research there are 33 responder. The way used in data retrieval in this study is to use questionnaires that are filled by respondents.Results: The results showed that the age of 27-30 years 11 respondents (31.3%), male gender 18 respondents (54.5%), mode of transmission through sex 28 respondents (84.8%), ARV treatment drink 31 of respondents (93.9%), there is a relationship between ARV treatment with stress in people with HIV AIDS in Jayapura shelter home with p-value value 0.001.Keywords: ARV Treatment, Stress, People With HIV / AIDS
