Abstract

The research of Delery and Dotty (1996) concluded that the relationship between HRM strategy and organizational performance were not simple but complicated.  The purpose of this research is to reexamine the relationship between HRM strategy and organizational performance by using organizational strategy as a contingent factor in that relationship. Respondents of the research were HRM managers of 81 companies which part of the Top Companies and Big Group in Indonesia,  71h   Edition published by Compassindo. The big companies were considered to perform their HRM as a strategic partner (Nurhayati, 2001). The concepts of HRM strategy  used in this research based on Bae and Lawler formulation (2000) and the organizational strategy based on Porter (1980). The result of this research shows, there is only one hypothesis supported  (H1) of five dimensions of HRM strategy, namely fit between extensive training and differentiation strategy is highly correlated to its organizational performance (r  =  - 0.401, significant of p = 0.01). On the other hand, hypothesis H2, H3, H4, and HS are not supported. It means that differentiation strategy do not moderrate the relationship between  empowering, staffing, performance based pay, broad design and organizational performance. There Is only one of five HRM strategy dimensions which is supporting  contingency theory in HRM strategic literature, states that the relationship between HRM strategy and organizational performance is depend on the contextual factor, namely organizational strategy. The concept of fit between HRM strategy and organizational strategy will have a superior performance (Jackson  & Sculer, 1995) needs to be explored in the future.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of managerial strategic on the relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance. The objectives of this study are : (1) to investigate the relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance and (2) to investigate the relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance differs depending on the degree of decentralization.  (3) to investigate the effect of managerial strategic in the relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance.  (4)) to investigate the effect of managerial  strategic on the relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance  differs depending on the degree of decentralization. The expectations in the model were explored with data gathered from 26 public banks in Bursa Efek Jakarta. The study uses a research methodology survey method supplemented by questionnaire, the survey questionnaire is adapted from previous studies. The respondents of the survey questionnaire were Chief Executive Officers and Middle Managers responsible for unit budgets in the sample of companies. The result of the study are :  (1) there is a significant relationship between budgeting design ugase and managerial performance.  (2) There is a significant relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance differs depending onteh degree of decentralization.  (3) there is a significant relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance is moderated by managerial strategic.  (4)  The moderating effect of managerial strategic on  the relationship between budgeting design usage and managerial performance differs depending on the degree of decentralization.

Abstract

The conceptual framework is proposed that investigates the effects of service quality, image, and price on perceptions of customer satisfaction and loyalty.  To test the framework, validity and of reliability analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regresion are applied to data collected from 203 tourist in Bogar Botanical Garden. The result of the study indicate that service quality positively related to satisfaction and loyalty variables.  While price and organizational image variables in the reality not have significant influence to satisfaction variable. Price variable only owning influence directly to loyalty. Besides, image variable in the reality nor have significant influence to loyalty. While satisfaction variable alone, owning weak influence to loyalty. Thereby, variable of service quality represent very dominant variable in influencing  customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the effects of organizational commitment, job satisfaction and ethical behavior to professional turnover intention in information system. This research is using survey method. Population in this research is all professional / worker of information system or laboring employees in the field of information system. Result of research is support that organizational commitment, job satisfaction and ethical behavior have the influence to profesional turnover intention in information system.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to test the effect of Quality Management Practices (QMP) based on Deming's 14 points, Operational Excellence Strategy (OE), on company financial pettotmsnce (CFP). Conceptual model of Deming's Principle is used with  operational excellence strategy (operational excellence dimensions and investment level) as mediating variables between the independent variables of Quality Management Practices and the dependent variable of company financial pertormance. The survey instrument usede comprehensive set of 81  importance and performance questions that were directly tied to the eight  constructs of the study.In summary, eight causal paths specified in the hypothesized model were found to be positive and statistically significant. Furthermore empirical results suggest that quality management practices have a positive and significant indirect effect on company financial performance through its direct effect on operational excellence strategy. The results also show that a complete model ftt and the acceptable parameter level which indicate the overall parameter are good fit between the hypothesized model and the observed data. By concentrating on a single industry (oil and gas) is that Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)  specification of the sequentialrelationship model between eight research constructs can be more complete and specific because unique characteristics of the oil and gas industry can be included (e.g. upstream and downstream chain activities). Finally, the particular design of the research and the findings suggest that the final structural model of the study has a great potential for replication to manufacturing as well as service operations.Based on the oil and gas managers (the SBU level), operational excellence strategy (five meaningful factors of operational excellence) can be viewed as the effective use of production and operations capability and technology for achieving business and corporate goals. Operational excellence strategy, therefore, is to help a company's operations organization define the common ground where it can play a proactive and collaborative role with other company functions or cross-functional relationships.Oil and gas managers in Indonesia can use these meaningful factors of operational excellence in concert with other critical quality management practices to help them in their  word-class company initiatives. Researchers can also use these factors to build structural model linking such factors to various organizational performance measures (i.e., non-financial or value- gain and financial or monetary-gain performances).

Abstract

Studi  ini meneliti pengaruh komitmen organisasi dan gaya kepemimpinan terhadap hubungan antara partisipasi anggaran dan kinerja manajerial.  Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menemukan bukti empiris tentang (a) hubungan dan pengaruh posistif dan signifikan antara partisipasi anggaran dan kinerja manajerial; (b) komitmen organlsasi dapat menjadi moderasi hubungan antara partisipasi anggaran dan kinerja manajerial; dan (c) gaya kepemimpinan dapat menjadi moderasi hubungan antara partisipasi anggaran dan kinerja manajerial. Responden penelitian ini pimpinan (manajer) kantor cabang utama bank-bank di Jakarta, dengan populasi sebesar 170 kantor cabang utama. Pengumpulan data dilakukan selama tiga bulan, mulai pertengahan September 2004 sampai pertengahan Desember 2004. Dari 170 kuesioner yang dlsampaikan, diterima kembali dan  diisi lengkap sebanyak 90 kuesioner (52,94%). Pengumpulan data dngan daftar pertanyaan yang diadopsi dari peneliti terdahulu. Data yang dikumpulkan diolah dengan menggunakan moderating regression analysis (MRA) dan regresi lnteraksi antarvariabel. Hasil penelitlan adalah (1) terdapat pengaruh dan hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara kinerja manajerial dan partisipasi anggaran,  (2) pengaruh komitmen organisasl terhadap hubungan kinerja manajerial dan partisipasl anggaran adalah positif dan signifikan, dan (3) pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan terhadap hubungan antara partisipiasi anggaran dan kinerja manajerial adalah tidak signifikan.

Abstract

This research test directly factors influencing for systems development quality, like: user participation, user training, user expertise, user /developer communication, user Influence, and user conflict. Persuant to answer 86 respondent employee banking industry in Banjarmasin. Result of examination of partial regretion indicate that user training and user/developer communication have an effect on positive and significant to systems development  quality, while user participation, user influence, user expertise and user conflict not have an effect on by partial to systems development quality.
