Abstract

One of the infectious diseases that have high morbidity and mortality rates is Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) which is transmitted through the bite of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. In West Java Province, dengue cases fluctuated. So it is necessary to analyze and review the influence of weather on dengue cases in West Java Province with the pattern and prevalence of dengue cases in all cities and districts in West Java Province. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research by making exploratory observations and producing something general with a Geographic Information System approach. The location of this research is in all 27 districts and cities in West Java Province. Data on dengue cases in West Java Province is accessed from the West Java Provincial Health Office on the West Java Open Data platform (https://opendata.jabarprov.go.id/). Then the population data of West Java Province can be accessed at the Central Statistics Agency of West Java Province on the https://jabar.bps.go.id/ platform. Analysis of this research data for incidence is calculated by dividing the number of cases divided by the population and then multiplying by one hundred thousand, while the prevalence can be calculated by dividing the number of cases divided by the population and then multiplying by a thousand, and mapping using QGIS 3.16. From 2014 – 2020, the highest cases were in the city of Bandung and the highest prevalence was in the city of Sukabumi. there is a relationship between rainfall and DHF cases in West Java Province in 2014 - 2020 with a moderate correlation strength where rainfall plays a role in the incidence of DHF cases but is not absolute because it can still be influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the six countries with a high burden of TB and HIV. The prevalence of TB-HIV cases at all ages is as much as 4.9%; The study aimed to provide an assessment of PITC implementation in high coverage and low coverage in HIV detection among TB patients. This study descriptive, analytic, cross-sectional with the consecutive sampling method. Data used in this research was secondary data collected from January until December 2017 conducted in 5 of the 23 cities with a high burden of TB-HIV. Using a routine reporting system by primary health care and regional health service in the district. The total sample size included TB patients registered in 5 cities 16.097 patients, 8022 patients (2.365 from low PITC, 5657 from high PITC) TB patients who had received the PITC program of this 3,5% were HIV positive. Additionally, was detected by percentage among TB patients in the high-coverage PITC area compared to in the low-coverage PITC area was 4.3:2.6. Male patients had a double risk of having HIV-positive results compared to female patients. Furthermore, the analysis also showed that productive age patients are more likely to have HIV infection compared to other age groups. Male sex aged 26 to 36 years 78-94% of them were at risk of having HIV infection. The implementation of PITC in countries with high TB / HIV burden has shown an increase in TB-HIV patient detection but still needs to be followed by ARV treatment to reduce mortality.

Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2) causes the 2019 Coronavirus Disease pandemic. Convalescent plasma is the first choice in the current situation because it has been used successfully in other coronavirus outbreaks. Convalescent plasma administration has an immunomodulatory effect on the lungs through the induction of anti-inflammatory cytokines and antibodies that inhibit the complement cascade (C3a, C5a) and the antiviral effect of NAbs. IgG and IgM are the main isotypes, and the humoral immune response is primarily the spike protein (S). Its anti-inflammatory effect controls an overactive immune system (cytokine storm, Th1/Th17 ratio, complement activation and regulation of hypercoagulable states) and synergistically with standard therapy leads to the development of primary clinical outcomes. The use of convalescent plasma has an impact on reducing the morbidity of patients with severe or critical COVID-19.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), has become the fastest growing Vector Borne disease (VBD) in the world over the last few decades, with an increase of 30 times. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the characteristics, behavior of 3M, and climate factors with cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Indonesia. This research was conducted using a literature review method. The research was conducted online by taking research objects in English and Indonesian journals that discussed cases of DHF in Indonesia. The sample used was appropriate and determined in this study totaling 45 research articles. The results showed that men were more likely to be infected with DHF because they were more active outside the home. The age prone to DHF is the age under 16 years old, or the toddler, child, and early teens. The education of the head of the family is also an important factor in efforts to control the dengue outbreak. The results of the literature review show that the characteristics have a significant relationship with dengue cases. Not all people are aware of the importance of 3M behavior, seen from the proportion of people who apply 3M less than people who apply 3M. 3M's behavior is a factor that can reduce the occurrence of dengue cases. Stakeholders or policy makers in the health sector, especially those in charge of controlling the dengue outbreak, should take the results of this study into consideration in determining regulations or policies related to dengue outbreak control.

Abstract

Sekaran Village is a village with a dense population, so the quantity of waste, both organic and inorganic from the village community is also high. This experiment focuses on processing organic waste only with Maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF) media which has the potential to decompose organic waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of degradation of organic waste with BSF maggot media at the Sekar Benefit 3R Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) Sekaran District, Lamongan Regency. The results of this experiment include the increase in the mass of Baby Maggot BSF before and after degrading waste. The level of degradation of organic waste with Baby Maggot BSF is rice (69.83%), bones (50.5%), meat (46%), fruit (45.83%), wet leaves (31.5%) and the last is dry leaves (16.67%). Meanwhile, the level of degradation of organic waste with Adult BSF Maggot is not as high as the level of degradation of organic waste with Baby Maggot BSF media. Organic waste type which easily degraded by Adults Maggot BSF for 24 hours are meat, fruit and rice up to 0.59, 0.44 and 0.11 kg. Meanwhile, dry leaves, wet leaves and vegetables, which were degraded up to 0.69, 0.59 and 0.7 kg. It was concluded that the type of organic waste did not affect the quantity of Adult BSF Maggot before and after degrading organic waste.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is a global outbreak of the coronavirus disease caused by SARS-Cov-2. Health workers are the most vulnerable to contracting the disease. Anxiety is a reaction to a threatening and unexpected situation such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Anxiety can have a direct or indirect impact on physical, psychological and behavioral aspects. Caring behavior is central to nursing practice that must be carried out by nurses even in the era of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This research used a cross-sectional research design. The data was collected from a questionnaire distributed on April 21, 2021 with a total sample of 42 from 72 populations. The purposive sampling technique was used in this research. Data processing included coding, editing, and tabulating. The data were subsequently analyzed using Chi-Square statistical test through SPSS. Most of the nurses at Lumajang Islamic Hospital experienced Mild Anxiety levels,  with a total of 38 people (90.5%), and most of them performed Good Caring Behavior with a total of 41 respondents (85%). From the Chi-Square statistical test that has been conducted, p Value = 0.000 which is smaller than the alpha value (0.05) so that H1 is accepted. There is a relationship between the level of anxiety of nurses and caring behavior of nurses in the Inpatient Installation of Lumajang Islamic Hospital. High self-efficacy and a long working period are among the factors that promote good caring behavior in the COVID-19 pandemic era.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the recovery process of two women survivors of online gender-based violence and their efforts to maintain their livelihoods. This article shows the bondage of violence with the spaces in survivors lives and the livelihood strategies they employ. The method used is a qualitative feminist perspective with data collection techniques carried out by in-depth interviews via online. The data were then analyzed using the Sphere, Time, and Violence (STV) framework by Elias and Rai, which explains deeper about the inequality women experienced in their lives based on 3 aspects; space, time, and violence. The results of the study show two main findings: first, online gender-based violence experienced by women is intertwined with women's roles and living spaces. Women got economic and psychological impacts along with victim blaming and negative stigma from the environment. Second, women survivors seek different coping strategies to survive and recover. Both of the subjects limit their access to communication, carry out technical efforts, and report the case they experienced to the authorities. Unfortunately, the state does not guarantee the recovery of online gender-based violence victims, so there are losses and costs that must be borne by the survivors themselves
