Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence and religiosity on prosocial behavior in adolescents. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a cross sectional study design. The population in this study were adolescents aged 15-18 years, with the total number of Indonesian adolescents aged 22,312.6. The area of distribution of research data was carried out in several provinces, including West Sumatra, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, NTB and NTT. The sampling technique used in this study is the quota sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 384 adolescents in Indonesia. The data collection tool was carried out using a scale of emotional intelligence, religiosity and prosocial behavior. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression. The data results show the value of R = 0.984 and F = 5941.766 with a significant level of p 0.01. The effective contribution (R Square) produced is R2 = 0.969, which means that simultaneously emotional intelligence and religiosity contribute 96.9% to prosocial behavior. It can be concluded that emotional intelligence and religiosity have a significant influence on adolescent prosocial behavior, meaning that adolescents who have high emotional intelligence and religiosity have high social behavior.

Abstract

Verbal aggression occurs frequently among adolescents. This behavior can result in negative impact such as; trauma and other psychological losses. This study discusses the relationship between empathy and verbal aggression in high school students. Participants in this study were high school students of class X and class XI. This research is a quantitative study with data collection using a questionnaire. The results indicated that there was no relationship between empathy with verbal aggression (r = 0.141; p = 0.112 0.05) which means that the level of empathy does not affect someone committing verbal aggression. In addition, there were external factors causing verbal aggression, namely joining friends and replying to friends who verbally aggression first. The results of this study suggest students report to the school if they see verbal aggression, so the school can follow up and verbal aggression behavior can be avoided. For the school, it is necessary to respond actively to the perpetrators of aggression that occur between students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of parents expectations with fear of academic failure in firstborn children. The research hypothesis is that there is a relationship between perceptions of expectations of parents and fear of academic failure in firstborn children. The subject of this research was 119 eldest children who were students at Sriwijaya University. The sampling technique in this study is by using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection method uses a scale of perceptions of parents' expectations and fear of academic failure, which refers to the dimensions of parents expectations from Sasikala and Karunanidhi (2011) and aspects of fear of failure from Conroy (2004).The results of the research hypothesis test showed a relationship between perceptions of parents' expectations and fears of academic failure with a positive correlation of 0,366 and significance of 0.000 (p 0.05). These results indicate a relationship between perceptions of parents' expectations and fears of academic failure, so the hypothesis in this study was accepted.

Abstract

Like normal children in general, sexual education should be given from an early age also to children with special needs, especially children with mental retardation. Mental retardation or intellectual disability is a pathological condition in the brain from birth that shows limitations in intellectual function and other adaptive functions, including mental function, communication skills, self-care and social skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of moderation psychoeducation on increasing knowledge of sex education in mentally retarded children. This study used quantitative research methods with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects used in the study werestudents and parents of students at SLB AKW Surabaya aged under 8 years with a total of 21 subjects. This study was analyzed using the Wilcoxon sing-ranked test to measure the effect of sex psychoeducation. The p-value = 0.000 (p 0.01), indicates that the knowledge of parents and mentally retarded children about sexual harassment has increased after being given a moderation psychoeducation intervention.

Abstract

The driving stress scale is one of the stress measuring tools for car drivers and so far, the Indonesian version of the measuring instrument has not been found. Adaptation of this measuring tool is needed considering that the construct has been more suitable for car drivers, while for motorcycle riders, adaptation is needed, especially in Indonesia. The adaptation of measuring instruments using driving stress consists of 16 items and is a unidimensional measuring instrument. The adaptation process follows six stages (translate-synthesis-backwards translate), both qualitative and quantitative. The results of the measurement tool translation were then given to eight online motorcycle taxi drivers and they were asked to read each item to check understanding in each item. Based on the qualitative process, some words were changed. The DS-Indonesia version was then returned to three online motorcycle taxi drivers to be re-tested for readability. These results were then tested (try out) to 28 online motorcycle taxi drivers to be analyzed quantitatively. Improvements were made again so that there were some item changes. The final result of this item was then collected data on 200 online motorcycle taxi drivers. Reliability testing and Confirmatory Factor Analysis with the R platform and Lavaan packages were used to check the suitability of each item with the DS-Indonesia unidimensional factor. It is known if the value of x2 : 57.114 p0.001, CFI = 0.969; TLI = 0.906 . RMSEA =0.078; SRMR = 0.040 which indicates that the results of the DS-Indonesia adaptation data have a fairly good fitness value. The inter-item results are in the good range and the correlation with BFI-Indonesia shows that DS-Indonesia correlates with the neuroticism, consciousness, agreeableness and openness traits but not with extraversion.

Abstract

Work is an essential thing in the world of work so that many studies have been carried out to examine the variables that are correlated with it. In this study, the researcher wanted to examine the relationship between work environment and job satisfaction and gender as a moderating variable for employees at the Yogya Cherbon Junction department store. This research is quantitative research with a survey method, using two measuring tools, namely: the Job Satisfaction Scale by Brayfield Rothe (1951) and the Work Environment Scale from Moos (in Maqsood, 2011). The study involved 119 employees of the Yogya Cherbon Junction Department Store, consisting of 17 men and 102 women. The results of the analysis of the R-value data of 0.512 and F of 13.614 with a significance of 0.000 (p 0.05), which indicates a positive correlation between the work environment and significant job satisfaction. However, it was found that the value on X3 (interaction between work environment variables and gender) was 1.486 with a significance of 0.140 (p0.05), which indicates that gender does not apply as a variable to the relationship between job satisfaction and the work environment of employees at the Yogya Intersection Department Store. Carbon. Further explanation of the results is discussed in this article, along with suggestions that can be implemented for the world of work based on this research

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the relationship between self-concept and anxiety faced by drug user inmates in facing the future when they are approaching the free period which has undergone 2/3 of the verdict. The subjects in this research were 31 inmates. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling with the criteria of drug user inmates who had undergone 2/3 verdicts at the Narcotics Correctional Institution IIA Yogyakarta. Data were analyzed using product moment correlation from Karl Pearson. The calculation method is assisted by using the SPSS program. The results showed a significant negative relationship between self-concept and anxiety in drug user inmates in facing the future at the Narcotics Correctional Institution IIA Yogyakarta with the correlation coefficient of hypothesis testing obtained at -0.613 with a significance value of 0.000. This means, the more positive the self concept, the lower the level of anxiety in facing the future, and vice versa the more negative the self-concept, the higher the level of anxiety in facing the future.

Abstract

Autism is a neurological disorder that affects children's social skills, communication and behaviour. The broad and severe impact raises its challenges in providing sexuality education for autistic children. The results of the needs assessment show that not all parents understand that children with autism continue to experience sexual development like children with normal development. In addition, parents also really need information about how to provide sexuality education to autistic children. Based on the results of the assessment, the researchers developed an M. Learning application design with smartphone media to increase parents' knowledge of sexuality education for autistic children. M. Learning was chosen because it can contain information on child sexuality education while still supporting the mobility of parents so that it can be accessed anytime and anywhere. The design of the M. Learning application was compiled based on various references from previous research, sexuality education booklets and books as well as discussions with educational psychologists. The coding of applications on smartphone media is carried out by information technology experts so that the information that has been compiled can be accessed easily.
