Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan kemampuan mendengarkan mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Listening III dengan menggunakan dictogloss sebagai sebuah strategi interaktif mengajar keterampilan mendengarkan, dan (2) mengetahui respon mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan dictogloss. Penelitian ini melibatkan 32 mahasiswa. Didasarkan pada hasil pre-tes, terindikasi bahwa mahasiswa memiliki kemampuan mendengarkan yang rendah. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan tes, kuesioner, diari peneliti, dan wawancara informal. Penelitian terlaksana dalam dua siklus dan hasil penelitian mengindikasikan peningkatan kemampuan mendengarkan mahasiswa. Peningkatan ini terjadi karena dinamika kelas yang mengalami perbaikan. Sifat kooperatif dan interaktif dictogloss melalui proses negosiasi makna dalam kerja berpasangan dan kelompok memungkinkan terjadinya pembelajaran teman sejawat dan pengajaran teman sejawat dalam pembelajaran mendengarkan di kelas, yang dilihat dari perspektif pembelajaran kooperatif dalam pembelajaran bahasa, dapat meningkatkan jumlah input yang dapat terpahami—sebuah faktor penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa kedua. Sejalan dengan dinamika kelas ini, respon mahasiswa dilaporkan positif terhadap penerapan dictogloss.Kata kunci: dictogloss, kemampuan mendengarkan, teks breaking news

Abstract

In the lyrics of the song Puzzle, note that insertion can only be to the extent of mixing noun. Then, laying constituents in Puzzle songs tend to be placed at the core of the modifier or not at the core explanatory. It is known that the reason for the birth of code mixing in the theme song lyrics Detective Conan Movie is the refashioning against diction. Choice of foreign vocabulary as a constituent in a unit of grammar such as phrases and clauses are considered more attractive and aesthetic.Keywords: code mixing, Jpop, syntactic analysis.

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to describe the formulas found in Kambing Jantan diary. The employed approach is textual analysis. The data unit is in form of the text collected by documenting method. The data is analyzed by explaining, comparing, relating, sorting, or combining with popular literary theory. From the previously completed analysis, Kambing Jantan diary has several formulas to construct itself as a comedy novel. The formulas are deployed in the diction (use of language), the topic of discussion selection, and the behavior of the characters. The type of humor is personal humor. By the use of bombastic slang, Kambing Jantan becomes a favorite kind of the new among the readers. In relation to this, the humor that is offered in Kambing Jantan tends to present itself as its function as a means of entertainment.Keywords: formula, humor, comedy, diary

Abstract

One of the oral folklores in the form of story which have developed in the community of Samawa ethnic group is the legend of Tanjung Menangis [the Crying Peninsula]. As a folklore, the legend is thought as containing and expressing pragmatic values. The current study aimed at describing: 1) pragmatic values contained in the legend of Tanjung Menangis; 2) reception of Samawa ethnic community towards the values contained in the legend of Tanjung Menangis; 3) relevance of the pragmatic values in the legend of Tanjung Menangis to the content of literature learning at Senior High School. The study was an ethnographic study which was descriptive in nature. The data were collected by using interview, observation, and documents study, and analyzed descriptive-qualitatively through such steps as data transciption, data identification, data reduction, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The data analysis and discussion resulted in three points of conclusion, i.e.: (1) the legend of Tanjung Menangis contains pragmatic values: faith, moral and ethics, social and culture, goodness, smartness and logic; (2) Samawa ethnic community has varied opinions towards the existence of the legend of Tanjung Menangis and pragmatic values contained in the legend; (3) the pragmatic values contained in the legend of Tanjung Menangis has relevance to the content of literature learning at Senior High School, especially old prose literature.Key words: legend, community reception, pragmatic value, literature learning materials

Abstract

This study was conducted in an effort to improve student learning outcomes in drawing ornaments through the implementation of inquiry learning strategy in class X Competency Design and Production of Textile Craft in the second semester of the academic year 2011/2012. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Research results that the acquisition value of ornament drawing class X Competency Design and Textile Craft Production in the first cycle, 30% of the number of students has not reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) subjects is 70. The average value of drawing ornaments in the first cycle is 70. 4. In the second cycle of 100% of the number of students has reached KKM subjects and the average value was 85.0. The steps taken in the implementation of inquiry learning strategy is the direct observation of flora and fauna, was explored in the form of sketches. Sketch observations then distillation or deformed arranged in a particular composition to form an image of the observation ornamen.Sketsa distillation or deformed, and then arranged in a particular composition to be an ornament image. With the increased activity of observing and practicing, students can enhance creativity in automatic learning leads to student learning outcomes. This is caused by the characteristics of inquiry learning strategy that is oriented learning process of searching for and finding an integrated create opportunities and requires students to be active in learning. The natural learning process, students work and experience, so that the learning is more meaningful because it touches directly the needs of students.Keywords: strategy inquiry, learning.

Abstract

The present study aimed to examine the representation of Indonesian revolution in the poetry “Rapat Mengganyang 7 Setan” written by H. R. Bandaharo. The meanings of the poetry are uncovered by investigating the mutual relationship between the poetry and the work and speech of President Soekarno as well as the written work of D.N. Aidit. The study used a qualitative research design, and the data were analyzed by using parallel reading method. The study results showed that the representation of Indonesian revolution is realized through the theme and diction of the poetry which are derived from sayings/slogans during the revolution time. The mutual relationship between the poetry “Rapat Mengganyang 7 Setan” and President Soekarno’s speech and D.N. Aidit’s written work are based on Mukadimah Lekra (Lekra Preamble), Community’s Culture Conception, and method of combination principle 1-5-1. The representation of Indonesian revolution in the poetry shows literature as part of political movement to reach the goal of Indonesian revolution, that is, just and prosperous community.Key words: representation, Indonesian revolusion, new historicism

Abstract

The present study was library research aimed at finding out and conceptually considering Indonesian language learning models that are relevant to the contents demanded in 2013 Curriculum and its classroom implementation principles. The study results concluded that effective learning of Indonesian language as demanded by 2013 Curriculum must develop two modes of learning process, i.e. indirect learning process and direct learning process. The two modes of learning process must be implemented integratedly. To attain effectiveness of genre-based Indonesian learning with scientific approach, needed are learning methods and models that can accommodate the implementability of the approach in the learning process. Learning methods and models that are considered as being able to accommodate the scientific steps in the learning process as demanded by 2013 Curriculum are Discovery-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and Problem-Based Learning. Related to the learning models, Indonesian language instruction with scientific approach begins with the preparation of lesson plan developed by teachers either individually or in group by referring to the syllabus and course book. In this case, the three models are seen as being very effective in supporting the attaintment of all competencies contained in 2013 Curriculum integratedly.Key words: learning models, 2013 Curriculum
