Abstract

Smallholder rubber plantations in South Tapanuli still have the opportunity and huge potential , especially when associated with a society that is still largely rely on rubber plants as an option for propagation . The availability of potential land is still quite wide and supported by government policy in the development of rubber plants also provide great opportunities to the business development of rubber plants in South Tapanuli . Commodity rubber in South Tapanuli a plantation commodities that contributed greatly to the economic development of society . Development of agri commodities rubber growing along with improving commodity prices of rubber inlocal markets , nationally and internationally. Business financially viable smallholder rubber plantations to be developed . Parameter estimation results show that only a partial area of variable parameters rubber previous year ( when different variables ) that significantly influenced the total area . While other parameters rubber real price , price Rid TBS and dummy effect is not real autonomy to the area ! rubber . Coefficient djfferential positive shift indicates that the partial commodity is a commodity rubber plantations do not have a competitive advantage in all areas South Tapanuli . Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine of benefits, the motivation and the loan success factors to farmers at Deli Serdang and Langkat Regencies. The obligation and duty of government as a provider of facilities and services for the community. The services carried out by the department of technical implementation through their respective programs. This coaching program has output that with the formation of a strong institutional groups can be used by farmers to carry out the joint venture. As a result of the joint efforts of farmers have the additional job as a principal side business of work as small farmers. Thus the direct coaching program has helped local governments in providing jobs for small family farmers in the countryside . The studies had the conclusion that the small farmers who are the target P4K program is farmers who are still under the poverty line income that is equivalent to 320 kg of rice per capita per year. Agricultural extension workers have a responsibility to facilitate lending and repayment , so that no group is unrealized arrears due credit. Local governments are expected to provide special assistance fund for poverty alleviation programs and increasing aid channeled through the BRI was appointed to serve small farmers with specific rules and regulations and absolutely no partisanship on the farmers. Abstract

Cocoa is one of the plantation commodity whose role is quite important for the national economy besides oil palm, rubber and coffee. The goal of this research is to analyze the factors that influence the development of cocoa production at Asahan District, To assess the contribution of cocoa commodity in increased revenue of Asahan District, To examine the role of cocoa in increase in employment at Asahan District, ad to assess whether the cocoa can be a commodity in the Asahan District.This use econometric approaches, descriptive and quantitative analysis of the data and the summary of the information and publications related to the cocoa small plantations at Asahan District. From the analysis can be concluded that the increase of cocoa production at  the Asahan District from 1993 until 2007 influenced by factors acreage, productivity and price. The  increase of cocoa production at Asahan District can be implemented by increasing of acreage, number of labor (intensification) and the stimulation of increased the cocoa price. During the analysis period of 7 years, between 2001 and 2007 the cocoa small cultivation at Asahan District is the basis sectors of the economy of Asahan District based on income and employment indicators. The cocoa cultivation influence on regional development in the Asahan District, both to increase the income and employment. The income and employment multiplier obtained from the analysis of the role of commodities in the Asahan District showed the effect of the change in total revenue and employment. Abstract

This study analyzes the demand and supply of rice , as well as looking at the effect of price and non- price variables on demand, supply of rice in the province of North Sumatra . The results showed that rice production is strongly influenced by the price of rice and fertilizer prices , the rise in the price of rice will memngkatkan number of offers in the future , whereas the increase in the price of fertilizer will reduce the number of betas offer , as a component of fertilizer inputs which are relatively large , while the price of substitute goods does not affect the rice offers . Views and expectations and the price elasticity of both input prices and terms of the demand is inelastic , the price of rice and the price variable substitutes insignificant influence on the demand for rice , the rise and fall of both vaniabel will not cause a change in the number of requests , while income and population positive effect on demand rice , when viewed in rice prices and good elasticity and income are both inelastic. Keyword : demand, supply, and rice

Abstract

One of the fishing activity is increased and is relied upon in the future by the Deli Serdang Regency is the brackish water aquaculture, such as shrimp. The land use of shrimp farms can be replace the role of fishing is estimated to have exceeded the allowable catch, especially on the East Coast of Sumatra in the coastal of Deli Serdang Regency. The development of farm land was centered in Hamparan Perak District. There is supported with specific aquatic environment, to be located in the coastal region of Deli Serdang Regency. By the optimal and sustainable management, the potential of pond at Hamparan Perak District is expected to contribute an adequate production in accordance with the carrying capacity of the region . The purpose of the study was to determine the shrimp farm income in Paluh Manan and Lama Villages at Hamparan Perak District, and to find out the feasibility of the shrimp farming in the Paluh Manan and Lama Villages at Hamparan Perak District. This study will be conducted in the Paluh Manan and Lama Villages at Hamparan Perak District for two months from January 2011 to March 2011. Based on the analysis and discussion that has been concluded that: the difference in the average of expansive farm land, number of labor, farming seeding, farming feed, drugs farm, and farm profits. The value of total profit at Lama Village obtained is Rp . 20.574.275 and at Paluh Manan Village is Rp. 13.395.954. From the comparison of the farm income in the shrimp pond at Lama and Paluh Manan Villages, the greater income is the farming at Lama Village. The difference average total farm profits of the shrimp pond at Lama Village and Paluh Manan Village is Rp. 7.178.321. Keywords : farming, food, shrimp
