Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa ditinjau dari gaya belajar Kolb. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitiatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Jetis. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 38 siswa yang terdiri dari siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 dan XI MIPA 2. Dari 38 subjek penelitian dipilih 2 subjek pada masing-masing kelompok tipe gaya belajar Kolb. Pengambilan 2 subjek pada setiap gaya belajar dimaksudkan untuk memperkuat hasil penelitian dan membandingkan antara subjek satu dengan yang lainnya. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah angket, tes uraian, dan wawancara. Angket digunakan untuk mengelompokkan subjek menjadi 4 kelompok tipe gaya belajar, tes uraian digunakan untuk menganalisis kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan wawancara digunakan untuk memperkuat hasil jawaban tes uraian subjek. Selanjutnya, model interaktif digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menganalisis data yang telah diperoleh. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang dikuasai oleh masing-masing tipe gaya belajar berbeda. Siswa dengan tipe gaya belajar konverger lebih dominan menguasai seluruh indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang telah ditentukan. Sedangkan tiga tipe gaya belajar yang lain dominan dalam menguasai satu atau dua indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis, yaitu (i) kemampuan menyatakan permasalahan dalam model atau simbol matematika dominan dikuasai oleh siswa dengan tipe gaya belajar diverger dan assimilator, (ii) kemampuan menjelaskan ide matematika dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan sesuai dengan kaidah matematika yang berlaku dominan dikuasai oleh siswa dengan tipe gaya belajar asimilator dan akomodator, sedangkan (iii) kemampuan dalam menyimpulkan hasil penyelesaian secara jelas dominan dikuasai dengan baik oleh siswa dengan tipe gaya belajar akomodator.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui implementasi program pengasuhan dan (2) faktor pendukung dan penghambat pelaksanaan program pengasuhan di BA ‘Aisyiyah Ronowijayan Siman Ponorogo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Prosedur Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, (1) implementasi program pengasuhan di BA ‘Aisyiyah Ronowijayan adalah (a) Mengembangkan kecakapan hidup seperti: ganti baju, makan bersama, (b) Penanaman nilai agama dan moral seperti: sholat dhuhur berjamaah, membaca iqro’, hafalan surat pendek, hafalan doa harian, hafalan hadist pendek. (c) Pembelajaran interaksi sosial seperti: bermain bersama, dan (d) Menumbuhkan kreatifitas dan inovasi anak melalui ragam permainan seperti: Balok, lego, manik-manik, dan (2) Faktor pendukung program pengasuhan adalah biaya yang terjangkau, lokasi yang strategis, aman dan nyaman, jauh dari bising, faktor penghambat kurangnya fasilitas sarana dan prasarana, alat-alat permainan yang kurang memadai.

Abstract

The aims of this research were identify: 1) The types of code switching, 2) Find out the factors influence the teachers to switch English into Indonesian or the opposite, 3) Analyze the impact of teacher’s code switching for the students. This research was held on SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo. The research design was qualitative research especially case study. Research used observation and interview as the data collection technique in this research. To analyze the data the writer transcribing interviewing, scanning material, typing up field notes, coding process, making qualitative narrative, and making interpretation the data. Based on finding, the types of code switching which was used by English teacher at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo include tag code switching, inter sentential code switching, and intra sentential code switching with different quantities. The factor influence teachers to conducted switch English to Indonesian such as the students understanding was the big factor and the students characteristic were different, they had not same ability in English. Finally, the researcher proposed suggestion to the teachers to maintain using code switching during teaching and learning English in classroom, but continue to prioritize English as the primary. They could switch Bahasa Indonesia, but when used for certain purposes only.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) find out and describe the implementation of character independence education for children with visual impairments in the Ponorogo Regency Aisyiah Integrated Blind Home, (2) to create a pattern of character education of children with special needs visually impaired in the Ponorogo Regency Aisyiah Integrated Blind Home. This study uses a qualitative method with a groundet theory approach. The research was carried out at the Aisyiyah Ponorogo Integrated Blind Orphanage with informants, namely the head of the orphanage, the board of education and blind children. Procedure for collecting data using interview procedures, observation and documentation. Data analysis in this study uses data collection, data reduction, data display, verification and confirmation of conclusions.The results of the research obtained from this study are: (1) The implementation of character independence education at the Aisyiyah Ponorogo Integrated Blind Orphanage has been well implemented, in accordance with the four characteristics of independence. (2) The character education pattern of independence of children with khusust needs unanetra in the Aisyiyah Ponorogo Integrated Blind Orphanage is divided into four, namely: a) Initial assessment is carried out in the form of recording the identity of foster children and their families; b) OMD (basic mobility orientation) in the form of daily activities training c) Exploring talent to train and develop talents possessed by foster children and; d) OML (Advanced mobility orientation) activities related to activities carried out in the community.

Abstract

Speaking is one of the most important skills in communication that should be learned by the people. By speaking, the people combine information and ideas by communicating with each other. Extracurricular is one of ways to learn English. By following English extracurricular, the students can increase their speaking skill ability. All of students at Azmania Boarding School also follow the English extracurricular. Therefore, when they are in second grade, they are able to use English in their daily lives.  The purpose of this study was to analyze the teaching strategy to promote students speaking skill in English extracurricular of the 2nd grade and the implementation of the strategy at Azmania Boarding School of Ponorogo in the academic year of 2018/2019. This research design was qualitative research of case study. As the data collection techniques,  the researcher used qualitative observation and interview. The subject of this research was the instructor of the second grade’s English extracurricular. Based on finding and discussion, the teacher’s activities in classroom were learning by playing, singing and telling. Those activities were categorized as Active Learning strategy. This strategy gave good effect for the students. This strategy also increased students’ motivation in speaking skill. The implementation of this strategy was by combining materials with song, story and game. The implementation of this strategy also based on the students’ need.  Based on the results of the study, the researcher gives suggestion related to the strategy of teaching speaking. For teachers, it is hoped that this research can encourage other teachers to adopt this strategy. Besides adopting this strategy, other teacher can modify this strategy to improve speaking skill of the students. The teacher also can apply interesting strategies to develop the students’ ability. By using various strategies in teaching, it is hoped that the students are not bored and get good way to improve students speaking skill. For students, they need to increase their motivation and interest in learning English. They need to practice speaking skill in their activity. Students can use media in around them, for examples; song, story or novel, games, etc. to improve their speaking ability. The last for other researcher, the researcher hopes that the other researcher can do some improvement in many aspects that can be analyzed in English language especially in speaking skill.
