Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni is an international journal dedicated for the publication of scientific articles in language education, literature, and arts education. It was firstly published on March 2000 with ISSN 1411-3732 in 2007 by Faculty of Language Literature and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal had ever been changed into Jurnal Bahasa dan Seni during 2004-2013. In 2014 this journal is renamed as Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni applies open journal system (OJS) and peer-reviewed online journal in 2017 with Online ISSN 2548-9097.

Abstract

This article discusses about application of approaches and method in dance learning regarded to be relevance with the situation and condition in the SMPN 5 Solok. This article is going to answer many problems existing in the school faced by the dance teachers of West Sumatera. The problem is that the teachers are often not able to catch the appropriate method in the application of dance learning as well as to measure the students’ creativity correctly. This case is caused by the in appropriate approach and method of learning used by the teachers and less of facilities available. Related to that problem, the dance teachers of SMPN 5 Solok city try to answer it through applying approach and method that they consider to be relevance to the condition and situation of the school. The teachers use persuasive, cooperative, and motivated approach to analyze the problem. The learning method used in this study is the combination, of exploration and appreciation method, and then this approach is finally done effectively and efficiently in the school. Abstract

This paper discusses the short story of Malin Kundang, rebellious mother, written by AA Navis by using Derrida’s deconstruction theory. Deconstruction is method of reading the text very carefully so that the conceptual distinction inventions by the authors of the foundations texts seem inconsistent and paradoxes in the use of the concept in the text as a whole. The presence of deconstruction has allowed a text to have multi meanings. Literary text is seen as very complex. In this short story, Navis does not imitate what it is from the legend, nor about the legend recounted his version, but argues on different sides of legend of Malin Kundang and delivers it in way that is very unique and interesting. Abstract

Understanding the mother tongue is as important as understanding the second language for language learners. Contrastive analysis provides a means to compare and find similarities and differences between the two languages so that the exchange f meaning can be done with accuracy. Abstract

The formulation of competence standard and basic competence for Indonesian language and literature subject is based on four aspects of language skills. But when viewed from the point of the communicative approach in language learning. generally those competencies do not directly address the language components which must be taught again and teacher often do not specify clearly these aspects when developing indicators of basic integrate the three components of learning, namely :1. mastery of language knowledge which also includes a significant mastery of linguistic rules; 2. Four aspects of language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing); 3. A positive attitude towards meaningful Indonesian language and literature which enable student to use language appropriately. Communicative approach in learning the language is emphasized also that language learning is not learning about the language, but learning the language. However, learning the language without learning the rules of language is useless. Therefore, this article would like to try to criticize the imbalance of attention to good language trainings in the four aspects of language skills, supported by a situation that requires students to speak with the correct behavior Key words: Standar kompetensi, kompetensi dasar, pembelajaran bahasa, pendekatan komunikatif, pola pengintegrasian.

Abstract

The creation of works of choreography requires a creative work process and time of development, ranging from initial stimulation until the dance composition. The stimulation of dance begins with stimulation of ideas, visual stimulation, stimulation of audio, kinesthetic stimulation, ad touch stimulation. The creation of dance associated with the creative process requires sufficient time. Choreographers are not just stringing-chain motion, but to develop ideas, creative power train in expressing movement, abstracting ideas at this stage of cultivation, improving the knowledge of understanding, and providing a variety in the creative process. Exploration activities undertaken are not yielding a form of dance, but rather motivating and stimulating the creation of a new movement through stages of composition that would be a form of dance. Abstract

The aim of early age education is to develop all of student’s basic potential ability. To develop the student’s basic potential ability, it is needed the improvement of teachers’ profesionalism. The improvement of teachers’ profesionalism itself should be done toward both of the guide of profesionalism capability and the guide of commitment. The improvement of profesionalism capability for early age education teachers can be done through: education supervision; certification program and study task; commitment training for early age education teachers by helping their welfare. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat penerapan strategi-stategi membaca berdasarkan Genre Based Approach guna menigkatkan pencapaian nilai membaca siswa. penulis melaksanakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menerapkan strategi membaca berdasarkan konsep Genre Based Approach yang terdiri dari empat langkah yaitu building context of the text, modeling the text, joint construct of the text, dan independent construction of the text. Strategi-strategi membaca berdasarkan genre based approach diterapkan melalui tiga fase membaca yaitu, pre-reading phase, whilst reading phase, dan post reading phase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi membaca bisa memperbaiki proses belajar dan mengajar membaca. Simpulan ini bisa dilihat dari hasil tes membaca siswa yang menunjukkan peningkatan dari 12, 5% di siklus 1 ke 70, 8% di siklus 2 dan terakhir di siklus 3 menjadi 83, 3%. Penulis juga melakukan pengamatan dengan menggunakan (contreng) checklist terhadap strategi pengajaran dan keaktifan siswa. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan hampir semua siswa suka strategi pengajaran guru dan sebagian besar dari siswa sudah aktif. Hasil angket menunjukkan 90% dari siswa tertarik dengan cara pengajaran guru dan 88% dari siswa  tersebut aktif dalam belajar. Data tersebut juga diperkuat oleh informasi dari wawancara yang direkam terhadap 15 siswa pada tiap siklusnya. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara diketahui bahwa sebagian besar siswa mengatakan mereka tertarik dengan cara guru mengajar dan termotivasi membaca teks berbahasa Inggris Key words: Students’ Reading Comprehension, Genre based approach, Reading Strategies Derived from Genre Based Approach

Abstract

The goal of teaching literature is enabling students to enjoy, comprehend, explore and use literary work for improving their knowledge and language skill as well. Besides that, it is also aimed at encouraging students to master and dig the distinctive points of literary work genres, namely prose, drama and poem. In fact, teaching literature, especially teaching poem for elementary students is not an easy job. Because it becomes a problem sometime for an English teacher to make their students love and enjoy poem. So that, an appropriate teaching method is needed to solve that problem, even there is no best method which can meet all of teaching and learning goals. One of recent method that is widely used by English teacher recently is Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL). The principles of CTL have high possibilities to be applied, they are; contructing, modelling, discovery, learning community and questioning. Dealing with Discovery-Inquiry method, Carin in mentioned that Discovery-Inquiry is a teaching method that give great chances for students to get involved and using their mental process to dig and make the discoveries  for materials that they are studied. This method designs the situation that empowers students to activate their learning experience. Students may study outside of class for observation and getting inspiration, next time that experience can be written in a poem, so unconsciously they have learned how to write and explore a poem.
