Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni is an international journal dedicated for the publication of scientific articles in language education, literature, and arts education. It was firstly published on March 2000 with ISSN 1411-3732 in 2007 by Faculty of Language Literature and Arts Universitas Negeri Padang. This journal had ever been changed into Jurnal Bahasa dan Seni during 2004-2013. In 2014 this journal is renamed as Komposisi: Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Seni applies open journal system (OJS) and peer-reviewed online journal in 2017 with Online ISSN 2548-9097.

Abstract

The meaning of the extra-clause adverbs in this paper constitutes the functional elements of sentences that are peripherals and are outside the clause structure. Some experts call this type of adverbs disjunct, stance adverbs and sentence adverbs. The existence of this type of adverbs is specifically to provide information or additional explanation regarding the establishment, point of view or comment on the proposition contained in a sentence. This paper only discusses one type of extra-clause adverbs, i.e. the one that functions as the restrictions. Keywords: extra-clause adverbs, restriction, Indonesian Language

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the types of thematic progression used by the third year students of English Department at State University of Padang. To achieve that purpose, content analysis is chosen as the design of the research method. The findings of this research show that the ability of the students in writing is still low. This is proved by the students’ weaknesses in using thematic progression in their writing. This problem leads to the students’ insufficient ability to provide logical arguments in their writing. Abstract

The purposes of this study are: (1) to know the ratings of the most cited authors, (2) to determine what means of bibliography was cited most frequently, (3) to know what subject is often cited and, (4) to know the obsolescence of the cited literature in the undergraduate theses written by students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. The research method used a quantitative approach through bibliometric analysis to determine the characteristics of the papers with citation analysis. The results are (1) the author that is most widely cited is M. Atar Semi, and the top 5 authors that are widely cited are M. Atar Semi, Gorys Keraf, Hendry Guntur Tarigan, Suharsimi Arikunto, and Abdurahman; (2) book (80.24%) is a type of literatures that are most widely cited in the theses; (3) the most favorite subject of the theses is "effective sentences"and, (4) the publication time of literature cited in the theses is 21.4 years. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perbedaan hasil penelitian tentang jenis kata yang diucapkan anak dan perbedaan individu yang mempengaruhuinya pada fase perkembangan 50 kata. Bertolak dari latarbelakang tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan memaparkan pemerolehan bahasa pertama anak pada fase perkembangan 50 kata dan faktor yang mempengaruhi pemerolehan bahasa tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap anak Minangkabau yang dalam kesehariannya menggunakan bahasa Minangkabau. Subjek penelitian ini ada dua orang, yaitu satu orang anak perempuan berumur 16 bulan dan satu orang anak laki-laki yang berumur 18 bulan. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara interaksi verbal langsung, perekaman, dan pencatatan. Berdasarkan analisis data ditemukan bahwa pada fase perkembangan awal 50 kata, kata benda paling banyak diucapkan oleh kedua anak tersebut. Anak kelahiran pertama menghasilkan sedikit kata dibandingkan anak kelahiran berikutnya. Selain itu, jika orang tuanya lebih banyak menggunakan kata dan kalimat majemuk, pemerolehan bahasa anak juga akan lebih banyak. Namun, penelitian ini tidak menemukan apakah anak yang sering diajak bersosialisasi oleh ibunya lebih produktif dalam menghasilkan kata jika dibandingkan dengan anak yang jarang diajak bersosialisasi. Abstract

The limitation of women’s opportunities in the activities of the performing arts in the past were opportunities associated with the regulation norms in the foundations of Minangkabau customs. Within the social order, Minangkabau custom placed a woman as a person having the autonomy known as Bundo Kanduang, a perfect woman that should be the model for her descendants, the light in the village, the one who can keep the beauty of the country. Because of this, the women’s participation was limited around Rumah Gadang. In Line with the development of the era, the improvement on formal and non-formal education makes the Minangkabau women aware their limitation to participate in the world of performance arts. Nowadays there is a great opportunity for the women to determine their own choices in the performance arts. This opportunity has resulted in the more dominant presence of woman in the Minangkabau performing arts. Particularly in the world of dancing, the initiators of dance creation art have produced the dances with both the masculine and feminine moves which can be performed by Minangkabau women in the world of performing arts. The most interesting thing is there is a widely open opportunity for the women make their own choices. However, all the movements and behaviors of the Minangkabau women should be based on the social norms that are set in the philosophy of sumbang duo baleh and Alua jo patuik Raso jo pareso. Abstract

The widespread use of celular phones and SMS has spawned a variety of new word formation. These new words raise a language variety that leads to various interpretations. This is because the abbreviations and perpetuate sentences tend to "violate" graphological and syntactic rules, and the influence of psycholinguistics in the use of these abbreviations. This is because the creativity of the language community is very expressive and subjective regardless of the linguistic acceptability. Abstract

Tujuan dari riset longitudinal ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana seorang anak kecil menggunakan bahasa dalam kegiatan sehari-hari. Subjek dari riset ini adalah seorang anak perempuan dengan bahasa utamanya adalah Bahasa Indonesia. Data yang digunakan merupakan data autentik melalui rekaman dengan menggunakan ‘tape recorder’. Data dianalisis berdasarkan aspek-aspek sintaksis, panjang kalimat dan struktur kalimat dari ucapan yang disampaikan. Dalam riset ini ‘Mean Length Utterance’ (MLU) dari ‘Brown's Stages of Development’ di gunakan untuk mengetahui tingkat (level) dari perkembangan bahasanya. Abstract

This study aims at (1) describing the learning achievement of students of FBS UNP Padang based on the entrance selection modes that they have followed, (2) examining the differences of the learning achievement of the students of FBS UNP Padang based on the entrance selection modes. This research used the causal comparative ex-post facto design. The data were analyzed with the ANOVA technique. The result of data analysis shows that there is a significant difference in the learning achievement of students of FBS UNP Padang based selection paths taken. The statistical result of Tukey's test shows that the average learning achievement of students from SPMB/SNMPTN program is significantly different from the average learning achievement of students from the Non-Regular program and track record achievement program. The average learning achievement of students from PMDK program is significantly different from the average learning achievement of students from the Non-Regular program.
