Abstract

Parallel to the operational concrete development stage, school-age children start to develop their skills in logical thinking and problem-solving. They need adequate concentration to grow at the stage successfully. One of the determining factors in achieving such concentration is the quality of sleep. The study aims to analyze the relationship between sleep quality and learning concentration among school-age children. This research is a cross-sectional descriptive quantitative study. The samples were taken by proportional stratified random sampling from 53 respondents of 111 populations. Data were collected using PSQI and concentration questionnaires and analyzed using chi-square. The results indicated that 47 children (88.7 %) had a low sleep quality and 33 children (62.3 %) on a middle range of learning concentration. The statistical analysis showed 58.5 % of children with low sleep quality had a middle learning concentration level and 30.2 % had a low concentration level with a p-value (0.000) < value α (0.05). It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the quality of sleep and the level of learning concentration for school-age children at SD IT Al-Maqom Cimahi. Nurses as healthcare professionals can cooperate with the school to provide health education for the students and their parents regarding decent sleep quality and its effect on their growth and development, especially in studying. The parents can modify their children’s daily activities, especially before bedtime. One of them is rules about using gadgets and other electronic media in their bedrooms.

Abstract

Compliance of patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in undergoing therapy is essential in reducing the viral load. Currently, the world is in the era of revolution 4.0, where there is a combination between technology and human needs. The effort to adapt to this condition is by utilizing Telehealth. Telehealth is considered efficient in controlling, monitoring, and providing palliative care remotely. This study's purpose is to review Telehealth's effectiveness as an alternative method of increasing anti-retroviral treatment compliance in children, adolescents, and young adults with HIV. Using scoping review method with inclusion criteria for articles published in 2012 – 2022, Randomized Control Trial and Experimental Study research design, and published in English. Selection of articles using PRISMA Flow Diagram. The database consists of PubMed and EBSCO using keywords telenursing, compliance, anti-retroviral agents, and children. Four articles were included in the study out of 895 identified articles. The use of Telehealth provides the potential for both children and youth to increase patient motivation and adherence to treatment. Telehealth in patients with HIV used short messages. So, Telehealth has the potential to become  an alternative method of increasing anti-retroviral treatment adherence in children, adolescents, and young adults with HIV.

Abstract

Online game is increasingly popular entertainment for all ages, especially on adolescents. Previous study had shown that the most internet users in Indonesia are adolescents and playing online game is the most activities frequently accessed by adolescents. Previous research also showed that online game addiction among Indonesian students was estimated at 10,15%. This study aimed to identify the level of online game addiction in adolescents. This research was in form of quantitative descriptive. The study population was all students of class X dan XI who obtained students from screening results and have met certain criteria with total of 241 people. The population and sample criteria in this study were adolescents who played online games for at least 6 months starting from the first time playing online game. The sampling technique used was total sampling, that all members of the population were used as sample. Data was collected within a month using The Indonesian Online Game Addiction Questionnaire and data obtained directly through google form. The result of the study was analyzed by univariate analysis then grouped into groups of respondents with a score of 7-13 no addiction, 14-21 on mild level of addiction, and 22-35 on high level of addiction. Base on the data analysis, the result of this study showed that almost all respondents were male (87,1%) with duration of ≤ 3 hours/day atau ≤ 21 hours/week to play online game (69,3%). Nearly half of respondents were addicted at a mild level (49,8%) and partially at a high level (10,8%). The conclusion of this study was that the level of addiction in adolescent was dominated at a mild level. The suggestion for school and school health nurses are to collaborate in prevention and treatment efforts by providing education about time management and the dangers of online game addiction to students.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced universities to change their teaching and learning activities using online methods, which can impact students' stress problems, including undergraduate nursing students. This study aims to identify the relationship between stress levels and sleep disorders among nursing students in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional study included 253 nursing students from the Faculty of Nursing at Universitas Padjadjaran between 2018 and 2021, and completed the Student Nurse Stress Index (SNSI) questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire from June 2022 to July 2022. Study findings, all individuals reported experiencing moderate to severe stress levels and had an impact on sleep disorders, with a sig. (2-tailed) namely 0.001 (<0.05) and correlation (r) 0.290. The majority reported moderate stress, i.e. less disturbed sleep (70.6%), disturbed (63.2%), and very disturbed (52.6%). Meanwhile, severe stress, namely disturbed sleep (33%) and very disturbed (47.4%). Although, there were 14.3% had mild stress and slept less disturbed. The highest levels of stress and sleep disorders were reported by women (85.4%), 17-21 years old (78.7%), and lived with their family (77.1%). This study highlights that the COVID-19 pandemic related to stress and sleep disorders has a significant relationship. Therefore, future studies using meta-regression are needed to investigate the factors influencing and exacerbating stress and sleep disorder among nursing students in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic to minimize results bias.
