Abstract

This research is motivated by the practice of naming animals (zoonim), especially the garut sheep in the Priangan region. The purpose of this research is to examine the history of the naming of the sheep and to reconstruct the linguistic name of the garut sheep. This study uses a qualitative approach, namely descriptive analytical method. The data collection techniques used in this study were fishing techniques, all-encompassing techniques, recording techniques, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis begins with collecting data, reducing data, analyzing based on classification. The source of the data in this study were the garut sheep that competed in the 2022 Garut League Agility Competition. The results of this study were: 1) the naming of the sheep is inseparable from the culture and history of agility competitions carried out by nobles since ancient times, and in the end this activity became an activity favored by the community and spread to several areas, 2) Based on the reconstruction, the naming of garut sheep can be classified into several categories, namely: based on physical aspects, psychological aspects of one's title and name, natural environment, place names, weapons names, and nuanced names automotive. Based on the word class and language origin, the naming of sheep includes: noun, verb, and adjective word classes. The languages used to name the garut sheep are Indonesian, Sundanese, and English. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh praktik pemberian nama pada hewan (zoonim), terutama domba garut di wilayah Priangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah  meneliti sejarah penamaan domba garut dan merekonstruksi penamaan domba garut secara linguistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yakni metode deskriptif analitis. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik pancing, teknik cakap semuka, teknik rekam, dan teknik catat. Analisis data dimulai dengan mengumpulkan data, mereduksi data, melakukan analisis berdasarkan klasifikasi. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah domba garut yang bertanding pada ajang Adu Ketangkasan Liga Garut 2022. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) penamaan domba garut tidak terlepas dari budaya dan sejarah adu ketangkasan yang dilakukan oleh para ningrat sejak zaman dahulu, dan akhirnya kegiatan ini menjadi sebuah kegiatan yang digemari oleh masyarakat serta menyebar ke beberapa wilayah, dan 2) berdasarkan rekonstruksi penamaan domba garut dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi beberapa kategori, yaitu: berdasarkan aspek fisik, aspek psikologis, gelar dan nama seseorang, lingkungan alam, nama tempat, nama senjata, serta nama bernuansa otomotif. Berdasarkan kelas kata dan asal bahasa penamaan domba mencakup: kelas kata nomina, verba, dan adjektiva. Bahasa yang digunakan untuk menamai domba garut adalah bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Sunda, dan bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This critical academic article examines the significant and aesthetic educational values portrayed by Nussa's animated cartoon characters. The study employs a descriptive and qualitative research approach, focusing on the animated cartoon characters from the Nussa series as research subjects. The data collection process involved purposive sampling techniques, observation methods, literature studies, and the application of semiotic analysis developed by Roland Barthes. The findings indicate that the characters in the Nussa animated cartoon series possess substantial educational value, encompassing various aspects such as patience, sibling affection, resilience against shortcomings, simplicity in lifestyle, promotion of positive language, encouragement of remembrance of God (dhikr), and cultivation of tolerance. Moreover, the cartoons consistently emphasize the significance of comprehensive education that prioritizes critical thinking. Considering these findings, this article suggests that Nussa's animated characters can serve as a reference point for theater playwrights aiming to develop high-quality and educational scripts for children. AbstrakArtikel akademis kritis ini mengkaji nilai-nilai pendidikan yang signifikan dan estetis yang digambarkan oleh tokoh-tokoh kartun animasi Nussa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif dan kualitatif dengan fokus pada karakter kartun animasi dari serial Nussa sebagai subjek penelitian. Proses pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, metode observasi, studi literatur, dan penerapan analisis semiotik yang dikembangkan oleh Roland Barthes. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa tokoh-tokoh dalam serial kartun animasi Nussa memiliki nilai pendidikan yang tinggi, meliputi berbagai aspek seperti kesabaran, kasih sayang saudara, ketahanan terhadap kekurangan, kesederhanaan dalam gaya hidup, promosi bahasa positif, dorongan mengingat Allah (dzikir), dan penanaman toleransi. Selain itu, kartun-kartun tersebut secara konsisten menekankan pentingnya pendidikan komprehensif yang mengedepankan pemikiran kritis. Mempertimbangkan temuan ini, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter animasi Nussa dapat menjadi referensi bagi penulis drama teater yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan skrip pendidikan berkualitas tinggi untuk anak-anak.

Abstract

The image of women is an impression that arises as a result of individual knowledge and experience that is presented implicitly through literary works. Periodization of literary works can also present images of women who represent certain characteristics. “Isteri Tabib” by Teha and “Putri Pahlawan Indonesia” by N. St. Iskandar are two short stories published in Pandji Poestaka during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia. This research will discuss the image of Indonesian women during the Japanese period presented through these two short stories. The purpose of this study is to reveal that image of Indonesian women more or less shaped by the intervention of the Japanese. The research method used is a qualitative approach to the close reading.  Data collection techniques use by reading the corpus repeatedly and then marking the narratives and dialogues between characters related to the image of women. The results and analysis revealed that the image of Indonesian women during the Japanese occupation was the image of a wife which was closely related to the domestic sphere, the image of a mother, and the image of a woman warrior. These three images exist as a form of propaganda to create an ideal woman who is useful for the interests of Japanese ideals.AbstrakCitra perempuan merupakan kesan yang muncul sebagai hasil dari pengetahuan dan pengalaman individu yang dihadirkan secara implisit melalui karya sastra. Periodisasi karya sastra juga dapat menghadirkan citra perempuan yang mewakili ciri tertentu. “Isteri Tabib” karya Teha dan “Putri Pahlawan Indonesia” karya N. St. Iskandar merupakan dua cerpen yang terbit di majalah Pandji Poestaka saat masa pendudukan Jepang di Indonesia. Penelitian ini akan membahas citra perempuan Indonesia masa Jepang yang dihadirkan melalui dua cerpen tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengungkapkan citra perempuan Indonesia sedikit banyak dibentuk oleh campur tangan pihak Jepang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif metode close reading. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara pembacaan korpus secara berulang kemudian menandai narasi dan dialog antartokoh yang berkaitan dengan citra perempuan. Hasil dan analisis mengungkapkan citra perempuan Indonesia di masa pendudukan Jepang adalah citra seorang istri yang erat berkaitan dengan ranah domestik, citra ibu, serta citra perempuan pejuang. Ketiga citra tersebut hadir sebagai bentuk propaganda untuk menciptakan perempuan ideal yang berguna untuk kepentingan cita-cita Jepang.

Abstract

The objectives of this study (1) produce digital modules using demonstration methods, (2) knowing the response of students and teachers to digital modules, (3) knowing obstacles during development, (4) testing the effectiveness of the use of digital modules using demonstration methods in improving the ability to write procedure texts compared to conventional teaching materials, (5) testing the effectiveness of using digital modules using demonstration methods in increasing students' learning independence compared to conventional teaching materials. The research method used is R D (Research and Development) from Borg and Gall which is simplified into 5 main steps. Data is collected through observation, interviews and questionnaires. Instrument data processing procedures include validity test, normality test, paired sample t test, paired sample statistics test, homogeneity test, independent sample t test, independent static group test sample t test, n-gain test, and descriptive analysis. The research locations are at SMK Texar Karawang, SMK Sehati Karawang, SMK BK 1 Karawang, and SMK PGRI Telagasari. The results of this development research are in the form of digital modules using demonstration methods. The digital module format is generated through google sites.com and question creation through google form.com. The responses of the students and teachers of the four schools were either categorized or agreed. Several obstacles were found during the development of digital modules. The results of the product test proved the effectiveness of the digital module using the demonstration method in improving the ability to write procedure texts and student learning independence in the experimental class compared to conventional teaching materials in the control class. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini (1) menghasilkan modul digital (2) mengetahui respon siswa dan guru terhadap modul digital, (3) mengetahui kendala saat pengembangan, (4) menguji efektivitas penggunaan modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks prosedur dibandingkan bahan ajar konvensional, (5) menguji efektivitas penggunaan modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa dibandingkan bahan ajar konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah R D (Research and Development) dari Borg and Gall yang disederhankan menjadi 5 langkah utama. Data dikumpukan melalui observasi, wawancara serta angket. Prosedur pengolahan data instrumen meliputi uji validitas, uji normalitas, uji paired sample t test s, uji paired sample statistics, uji homogenitas, uji independent sample t test, uji grup stastistik independen sample t test, uji n-gain, dan analisis deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian di SMK Texar Karawang, SMK Sehati Karawang, SMK BK 1 Karawang, dan SMK PGRI Telagasari. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini berupa modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi. Format modul digital dihasilkan melalui google sites.com dan pembuatan soal melalui google form.com. Respon siswa dan guru keempat sekolah terkategori baik atau setuju. Ditemukan beberapa kendala saat pengembangan modul digital. Hasil uji produk membuktikan keefektifan modul digital menggunakan metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks prosedur dan kemandirian belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan bahan ajar konvensional pada kelas kontrol.
