The Journal of Innovation in Business and Economics (JIBE) is published by the Department of Economics and Business at University of Muhammadiyah Malang in 2017. Previously this journal was known as Jurnal Media Ekonomi that was initially published in 2000. In 2011 until 2016, this journal was renamed as Ekonomika Bisnis: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pemikiran. JIBE is a generalist; academic review covering all fields of business, management, accounting, and economics. The journal seeks to examine the emerging and state of the art future innovations in business, economics and management made possible by advances in information, communication, and technologies. We welcome contributions covering all fields of business innovations including, but not limited to information, communication and technologies applications in business, cost and revenue model, business ethics, business strategy, applications of innovation in business and management, entrepreneurship & innovation, information systems, international business & cross-cultural studies, marketing, organization studies, general management as well as micro and macro economics.

Abstract

This study tries to explain the influence of import tariff to Indonesian balance of trade and national income. The analysis was made by applying a dynamic linier model. The result showed that the imposing of import tariff has a positive and significant influence to the raising of balance of trade surplus in a long term. The import tariff on commodity of agriculture and manufacture have also positive influence to the growth on balance of trade, however the sector that give a significant value is agriculture sector. The surplus growth on balance of trade gives positive and significant influence to the national economic growth.

Abstract

The research objective is to analyze customers satisfaction of “Nova” VCO brand product in the Surabaya area counters or retails. The customers have been bought the product during the research periods. The data analyzed by SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) approach through AMOS program. The result show that: 1.  There is no influence of  Customer Value factor to Customer Satisfaction of “Nova” VCO brand product;  2.  There is positive influence of store image factor to Customer Satisfaction of “Nova” VCO brand product 3) Customer Satisfaction have a positive influence to Customer Loyalty of “Nova” VCO brand product.

Abstract

The research purpose is to analyze the impact between environment, knowledge sharing behavior, and inovation to the performance of leather shoes enterprise in Mojokerto, East Java. The analysis tool is multiple regression used a  SPSS 16 program.  The research results  show the tested hypotheses, there are significant partial and simultaneous impact between environment , knowledge sharing behavior and inovation to performance. Knowledge sharing behavior as dominanly influence performance, which means SMEs must gain informations about competitor strategy to create product creativity & innovation, market trends & pole  and product design to suit the customer behavior.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the effect of emotional, intellectual and spiritual quotient upon lecturer’s performance in Jogjakarta private universities. Multiple regression analysis applied in the research. The result show that the lecturer’s performance significantly affected by emotional, intellectual and spiritual quotient, both simultaneously and partial. The spiritual quotient gives more contribution influence to lecturer’s performance than emotional quotient and intellectual quotient. According on the result, emotional, intellectual and spiritual quotient  show very significantly influence to increase the lecturers performance.

Abstract

The  Indonesia management idea didn’t separate from management thought itself. If we look from the geographical aspect, Indonesia is near eastern managemen style, but empirical evidence shows a western orientation practice. There is an organizational culture dispute and it has an influence toward the organizational output to be solved. The alternative solution is to integrate both of  management style within local culture. This integration needs to adjust with Indonesian culture to optimize the organizational performance.The Indonesian management style must put emphasis on distinctive local uniqueness along with the influence from both east and west

Abstract

The research purpose is to understand level and factor in the failure of fertilizer distribution systembased on minister of industry and commerce instrution No. 70/MPP/Kep/2/2003. To determine the effectiveness of fertilizer distribution system , the author the ratio between the average expected targets and the reality. The results of this research is c2 about 0.500 with the values of c 2 tables around 11.34, significant at the 0.001 level in the region of Ho is received. The conclution is effective distribution of fertilizers rely on the right circumstances, that consist of time, quantity, price, quality, location and type.

Abstract

Accountability is an inseparable part of  agency theoryabout  the relationship between agent (management) and principal (owner). The essence of theory, difficult creation of relationship between owners and management because conflict of interest. The Solution to improve  the performance-based compensation is to give a  reward to agent in order to optimizing their work. To maintain accountability, agent is obliged to act in the interests of the principal and the principal gives the power to recognizes agents performance  or give a punishment to them.
