Abstract

Tulisan ini memaparkan tentang pengalaman pemberdayaan perempuan dalam memaksimalkan manfaat lingkungan hidup berbasis masjid. Pemberdayaan ini dilakukan oleh civitas akademika Universitas Indonesia bersama komunitas perempuan di Pulau Kelapa Dua Kepulauan Seribu DKI Jakarta pada tahun 2016. Dengan Partisipatory Action Research (PAR), data diperoleh melalui proses interaksi yang ada, sekaligus wawancara dan focus group discussion (FGD). Dalam kajian ini, teori pemberdayaan Aileen Mitchell Stewart dan kepribadian innovatif Everett Hagen digunakan untuk membantu menganalisis perubahan yang terjadi. Sebagai bagian dari tahap awal penelitian aksi partisipatif, pemberdayaan perempuan melalui masjid di masyarakat pulau Kelapa Dua ini dapat dikatakan berhasil. Sejumlah hambatan dan tantangan masih terlihat, namun perubahan yang terjadi dan kesadaran masyarakat telah merefleksikan komponen pemberdayaan yang dijelaskan oleh Stewart. Meskipun belum terjadi gerakan massif pada seluruh komunitas perempuan, akan tetapi sejumlah perempuan telah berusaha menjaga keberlangsungan pemberdayaan yang ada melalui kepribadian inovatif yang mereka miliki. Karena itu, proses mentoring dan supporting harus terus dilakukan agar siklus partisipasi komunitas dalam aksi dan refleksi dapat terus terjadi, sekaligus menumbuhkan kepribadian inovatif pada anggota yang lain sehingga pemberdayaan bisa lebih berkelanjutan (sustaible).

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang konflik dan kerukunan antarumat beragama di kecamatan Grabag Kabupaten Magelang. Beberapa tahun yang lalu wilayah ini pernah mengalami konflik antar dan inter umat beragama. Konflik tersebut tidak sampai menimbulkan kekerasan dan kerusuhan dalam skala besar, dan dapat teratasi. Hingga saat ini kondisi masyarakat dalam keadaan damai, hal ini di antaranya disebabkan oleh peran agama dan tradisi lokal yang mampu menjadi perekat kerukunan umat beragama. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif di tiga desa di Kecamatan Grabag meliputi desa Grabag, desa Losari dan desa Ngrancah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perayaan nyadran, merti desa dangenduranan merupakan tempat “terbuka” bagi masyarakat tanpa membedakan latar belakang agama tanpa ada diskriminasi dan ekslusi. Dalam kegiatan tersebut, setiap warga mempunyai kesempatan untuk bertemu dan berinteraksi dengan warga lainnya. Interaksi tersebut telah menjadi salah satu faktor terbentuknya kohesi sosial, disamping faktor prinsip dan norma agama yang dijalankan oleh masyarakat. Kerukunan umat beragama terbentuk. This article discusses about the conflict and harmony between religious followers in the sub-district of Grabag, Magelang district. In the past few years, among religious adherents in the area had ever experienced conflicts both internally and externally. However, the conflict did not lead to exessive violence and riot, was successfully resolved. Until recently, the condition of society is condusive and harmonious. This is due to the important role of religion and local traditions in building social cohesion among religious believers. This researchuses qualitative approach. This study was conducted in Grabag Sub district in the villages of Losari, Ngrancah and Grabag. The result shows that local traditions such as nyadran, merti desa and genduranan have become open spaces for people to meet and interact to each other regardless of their religious backgrpund. In these activities, every resident has same opportunity to participate, there is no discrimination and exclusion among them. Such an interaction has become one of the contributing factors to build social cohesion., along with the religious principle and norm practiced by community. The religious harmony is created.

Abstract

The establishment of house of worship is one of the crucial issues in the harmony of religious life in Indonesia. Some research have been conducted on the case of the construction of houses of worship, but it use the civic pluralism or human rights perspectives. This paper presents the results of research on the case of the construction of houses of worship, namely the church in Bandung, West Java, with conflict management perspective. This study was designed as a case study, by conducting interviews and observations as well as reviewing documents with conflict management perspectives and regulations on the establishment of houses of worship, by examining the elements of the community involved in the process of building houses of worship and the social mechanisms undertaken. The results of this study indicate that the openness and communication between elements involved in the construction of houses of worship, as well as the process of socialization became an important factor in the establishment of the church, even in places where religious worshipers became ‘minorities.’ Social mechanisms or socialization between elements involved in the construction by itself will strengthen the harmony of religious life.

Abstract

This written is aimed to study more about popular culture, espesially in relation to meme phenomenon of shorten-long pants hadith (meme hadis celana cingkrang) spread around social media. From paradigm that this phenomenon is not only about creativity and wasn’t born at an empty space in social world, so the question is what behind this phenomenon is? To answer this question, this study is using constructivism paradigm with discourse analysis framework, all of the data are documentation and analyzed by using content analysis method, that is by means of exploration process, selection and classification so interpretation. This study shows that as religious phenomenon, at least there are two main problems behind meme phenomenon of shorten-long pants hadith. The first, it is an efforts to strengthen the religiousness identity of textual group among ideological contestation. The second, it is a form of their retaliation for the various shapes of resistance the common society does. This finding also strengthen the existence and textual group power relation along with political condition which they may be more free and having a notion and expressing the religious practice which is fully supported by the easiness of literature accessing, both directly or by relevant website.

Abstract

Makalah hasil penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang implementasi kebijakan sertifikasi tanah wakaf di Kabupaten Serang Provinsi Banten. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini berhasil mengungkapkan adanya beberapa fakta yaitu, data wakaf yang ada di selama ini tidak valid, masih adanya tanah wakaf yang belum didaftarkan, adanya ruslah yang tidak sesuai prosedur, dan minimnya pemahaman masyarakat tentang proses sertifikasi wakaf. Empat hal tersebut menjadi indikator dan kemudian disimpulkan bahwa implementasi kebijakan terkait sertifikasi wakaf di Kabupaten Serang kurang efektif. Simpulan tersebut, didasarkan pada analisis bahwa unsur pelaksana sebagai implementor kebijakan memiliki kelemahan baik karena minimnya SDM, sikap pelaksana, fasilitas, dan anggaran. Di sisi lain, kelompok sasaran juga memiliki karakteristik yang kurang memadai terhadap kebijakan yang telah ditetapkan.

Abstract

Tulisan ini merupakan hasil penelitian akhir tahun 2016 untuk mengetahui bagaimana kebijakan negara dalam pelayanan keagamaan terhadap kaum minoritas. Penelitian dilakukan di negara para Mullah, yaitu Iran, dengan sasaran Kota Teheran, Qum, Khurasan dan Kota Sanandazs. Mitra penelitian di Iran adalah Al-Mustafa International University, Islamic Denomination University of Teheran, dan University of Teheran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara, focused group discussion(FGD), pengamatan tak terlibat, dan kajian kepustakaan. Masalah yang diteliti adalah kebijakan politik keagamaan terhadap kaum minoritas, pendirian rumah ibadah, penyiaran agama, bantuan keagamaan dari luar negeri, perkawinan berbeda agama, perayaan hari besar agama, perawatan dan pemakaman jenazah, penodaan agama, dan kebijakan terhadap kelompok sempalan.

Abstract

One of the the policy directions of the government in order to strengthen harmonious life of religious communities is to protect religious minority groups and religion-based trauma healing. This qualitative descriptive-designed research is an evaluative study to the local unit force of Depok City which has authority to deal with ex-Gavatar members and other citizens who were recorded as ex-Gavatar members. The research discovers that in dealing with ex-Gavatar members, the government of Depok City is still limited in picking up, data collecting, sheltering, psychological consulting, and returning them home. In addition, the post-returning action is limited in the observation and supervision of state-national insight. There has not been a policy to provide personal training and mentoring to the ex-Gavatar members. Some of their civil rights are still ignored. This includes services of population administration, education, and return on their assets in Kalimantan. The obstacle factor in dealing with ex-Gavatar members is mainly in the inflexible budget when facing social dynamics, especially when dealing with victims of social conflicts.

The role of the Hajj Guidance Group (KBIH) has not been effective as the implementation of the independent Hajj mentalty’s program, such as self-sustaining travel, Manasik-al-hajj, and health. That’s factor are; (1) there is trade orientation of trade orientation, (2) distinction between independent pilgrimage and group hajj (3) pilgrimage following the culture of patriarchi (3) prestice group.

Abstract

The house of worship become an interesting phenomena among the religion community, in recent years. The minority tends very hard to build their houses of worship. This paper aims to describe that houses of worship become battle area among the reliogion community. Seven cases of houses of worship in East Kalimantan are best example for that symbolic battle. Not only between two different religion community but also the same religion community.This paper explains that houses of worship become battle area among the reliogion community was caused by; 1) houses of worship is well known as symbolic and artificial. Not just for pure worship for sure. 2). Syndrome of majority. The majority reject to live side by side in peace. 3). Those people are not ready to live together in multicultural area.

Abstract

Who is more authoritative in researching certain religious minorities, insider or outsider? How to apply the concept of ‘detachment’, ‘neutrality’, and ‘bracketing’ in studying religious groups officially declared by majority of ulama and mainstream religious organizations as deviant cults like Ahmadiyah? And how would the various concepts, methods, and scientific theories, such as ‘going native’ and ‘participant observation’ be applied in the field? How to negotiate between faith and science, our identity as part of religious mainstream and orthodox group in studying communities deemed ‘heretic’? How does researcher’s identity as a non-Ahmadi affect his research and judgment about Ahmadiyah? This paper intends to discuss the author’s experience in studying Ahmadiyah, in applying various theories and academic principles in the study of this community, and how to behave towards individual conflicts and controversies surrounding Ahmadiyah issues. This paper is based on seven-year experience of living with, studying, and participating in the activities of Ahmadiyah in Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, India, England, and the United States.
