MANAGERIA: Jurnal manajemen Pendidikan Islam is a peer-reviewed scientific periodical journal published by the Department of Islamic Education Management the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Abstract

Dedicated personnel in pesantren have a great responsibility towards the management of education, even though the quality and qualifications are not the same as education personnel in general. Pondok Pesantren Wali Songo Ngabar presents and provides programs to improve their quality through the personnel management approach. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the discussion showed that the dedicated personnel at Pondok Pesantren Wali Songo Ngabar were an integrated unit of educational human resources that functioned as educators. Devotion as an embodiment to explore and practice the teachings of Islam (tafaqquh fi al-din), train to be human beings, and strengthen expertise to engage and serve in the community. Management is applied based on morality and Islamic values that prioritize local wisdom, culture, and independence of Pesantren in an effort to create the professional staff.

Abstract

The government implements private madrasa in order to improve Islamic education services. The strengthening of the existence of madrasa is inseparable from the participation of stakeholders. Especially in the fields of managerial, human resources, and infrastructure. The combination of a traditional Islamic education system with a modern Islamic education system is an appropriate alternative policy. This study aims to describe the concept of education management in the madrasa, the role of stakeholders, and the influence of madrasa enforcement on the implementation of education quality improvement in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is a case study with an interpretive or post positivistic approach. The findings of this study are the establishment of madrasa has a positive effect on the madrasah management which is more transparent, accountable, collaborative, coordinative, and while maintaining the characteristics of madrasas. Cooperative Participation Management based on religiosity become model of education quality improvement in MAN 2 Manggarai.

Abstract

Madrasa was born as the answer for the restlessness of pesantren on the existence of schools established by the dutch. After the independence of Indonesia, madrasas were still regarded as fringe classes. In early 1970s, the transformation of madrasa began to be initiated. In 1975, SKB 3 ministers which sets the content of religious lessons in declining madrasa appeared. This research is a literature study that examines the distinction and Islamic identity of the madrasa by reviewing the curriculum policy since the inception until the decline of KMA No. 184 in 2019. The results showed that the distinction and Islamic identity of the madrasa was still not optimal in producing the output of the Tafaqquh Fiddin, due to the large amount of subjects inserted within the curriculum by the ruling government. Although the equal position of madrasa in the national education constellation has been achieved, the marginalization of religious sciences in Madrasa has not ended. Meanwhile, students who strongly hold Tafaqquh Fiddin are needed at the time of the teenage radicalism.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the opportunities for the formation and initiation of the concept of inclusive Dayah management as an alternative education for Aceh blind children. Public education institutions in Aceh have facilitated the needs of many blind children, but Islamic-based educational institutions specifically do not yet have institutions that facilitate their needs. This research is a type of library research using an educational institution management approach. The results of the study showed that the Establishment of Inclusive Dayah was supported by the Aceh government policy system by establishing the Provincial and District/City Dayah Education Office, and enacting the Aceh Qanun Number 11 of 2014 on the Implementation of Aceh's Education and Law Number 20 of 2003 on the National Education System. Management of Inclusive Dayah for blind children can be carried out with the Special Inclusive Dayah Model, Visiting Class Inclusive Dayah, and Special Class Inclusive Dayah. Inclusive Dayah is an education service system that provides opportunities for school-age children with disabilities, especially children with visual impairment who are in the territory of Aceh Province by paying attention to diversity and individual needs. The potential of children with visual impairment can develop optimally in science along with the priority on Islamic religious education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of The School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS) funds finance management in MAN 1 Bitung. BOS aims to relieve the burden of society in terms of education fund. Therefore, proper financial management is needed to achieve its purpose. This research uses qualitative approaches using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results showed that the implementation of BOS finance management in MAN 1 Bitung was realized through the function of planning, implementation, and supervision. Planning involves formulating a budget draft. Then, the implementation stage is done through socialization and disbursement of funds. The final stage is the supervision stage. Through the implementation of this management function, BOS finance management in MAN 1 Bitung positively impacts the education process. Nevertheless, there is a need to coordinate with every element of the madrasah to ensure accountability for BOS funds.

Abstract

Gerakan Sekolah Menyenangkan (GSM) i.e Enjoyable School Movement, actively participates in the creation of an adaptive educational culture with changing times. This research aims to analyze GSM management in Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK) i.e Character Building Affirmation in Buayan 1 Kebumen Elementary School. This is descriptive-qualitative research. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that GSM management in Buayan 1 Kebumen Elementary School uses the following functions: 1) Planning with carefully in elaborating GSM principles by school resources; 2) Organizing, with the formation of work divisions explained in detail according to authority and duties; 3) Implementation through the establishment of a 'learning environment' which provides physical and emotional development space for students; 4) Supervision by analyzing strengths, weaknesses, supporting and inhibiting factors for future program improvement references. GSM has become the right program to be developed as a solution to the imbalance in the quality of education so far through grassroots transformation.

Abstract

This study discusses about religious-based quality management in Mutiara Parahyangan Elementary School, Bandung. Many cases of child mischief encourage schools to improve the quality of education through religious activities that can change the character of students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected through documentation, interviews, and observations. The results of the study show that the religious-based quality management concept is based on a commitment to improving the quality of education based on universal Islamic values. It is manifested in several activities are as follows, (1) The quality planning of vision, mission, and yearly semiannual programs, (2) The quality implementation in the form of religious activities that support religious practice in schools through routine, weekly, and monthly activities. (3) The quality evaluation is conducted periodically. (4) The quality control is carried out as a follow-up from the evaluation results to improve the quality. All of these activities always lead to the quality management principle of continuous improvement.

Abstract

This research aims to describe education financing in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Pondok Pesantren Tahfiz Qur'an Assalaam Bandung using the School Levy analysis. School Levy is a concept of education financing in which the community (property tax) is set as the main source of the additional fund. This is a qualitative study. Data were collected by observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation then analyzed through data categorization and data interpretation. The results are 1) Alternative sources of education financing in MTs-PPTQ Assalaam were acquired through the funds from middle-high income communities in the form of zakat, infak, sedekah and Wakaf (ZISWAF); 2).The acquisition of the education financing sourced from ZISWAF is obtained in several ways. The first, Madrasa obligates students from the middle-high income family to pay certain amount of donation at the beginning of school year. The second, madrasa offers the parents to channel ZISWAF for educational financing tailored at the initial contract. Third, madrasa applies auction system for the Development Fund addressed for classrooms or other facilities improvement. 3) The Further utilization of this fund is used for madrasa’s development as well as facilities improvement, such as Wakaf land, Free Scholarship for 30% of orphans and duafa students, and as madrasa saving.

Abstract

Benchmarking encourages an institution to look deep into the process of similar competitors, and is proven to provide better results. But, this strategy is often forgotten. The purpose of this study is to uncover the application of benchmarking in improving performance at Islamic State Institute Sheikh Nurjati and Islamic Institute Bunga Bangsa, Cirebon, West Java. This research is a multi-case studi with qualitative approach. Data were collected by participant-observation, documentation-studi, and in-depth interviews. Analysis techniques were conducted through collecting data, reducing data, displaying data and concluding data. The results showed that benchmarking at Islamic State Institute Sheikh Nurjati and Islamic Institute Bunga Bangsa, Cirebon was sufficient to provide results in improving the performance of good institutions. Benchmarking plans were formulated through comprehensive planning and team building. Benchmarking implementation was formulated by selecting and adapting the results of benchmarking and taking into account the conditions of the institution. Benchmarking control in improving performance at both institutes is carried out through good communication between leaders, subordinates, and all education stakeholders.

Abstract

Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is shaking the world. This massive event triggered by infectious disease is beyond the predictions of many people, even practitioners, and experts in the field of crisis management. Now all sectors are affected, including the world of Education. Academic leaders respond by moving their educational activities and those related online. The decision to pivot into distance learning is made quickly. This research focuses on highlighting how the headmaster's leadership in carrying out crisis management in the Islamic School of Al-Azhar Cairo Yogyakarta by going through the stages, namely 1) Before the Crisis, 2) During the Crisis, 3) After the Crisis. This research uses a qualitative method with the type of case study. The results showed that Before the Crisis stage was carried out by implementing the Covid-19 Prevention Literacy policy. The stages during the crisis are carried out with (a) Health Talk, (b) Learning from Home Policy, and (c) Video and Podcast Challenge. After the crisis phase, the principal develops a collaborative approach to leadership, evaluating, and controlling the various effects of the crisis to prevent future crises. Crisis management is needed so that schools can be better prepared to deal with crises and reduce their impact so that the learning process and managerial activities can continue to run productively.
