Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meganalisis bagaimana manajemen pelayanan komputer JAWS bagi mahasiswa tuna netra di PLD UIN Sunan KalijagaYogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengadakan pengamatan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan memberikan makna terhadap data yang berhasil dikumpulkan dan dari makna itulah ditarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Manajemen Pelayanan komputer JAWS di PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta mencakup beberapa fungsi manajemen, yang pertama, perencanaan yaitu ketua PLD menentukian jadwal kegiatan. Kedua, pengorganisasian yaitu ketua PLD membagi tugas dari masingmasing jabatan. Ketiga, Pelaksanaan seluruh anggota PLD yang telah diberi tugas oleh pimpinan melaksanakan tugasnya masing-masing. Keempat, pengawasan yaitu seluruh kegiatan di PLD selalu dipantau dan mengadakan rapat rutinan guna mengetahui masalah-masalah yang dihadapi sehingga dapat diselesaikan bersama. Manfaat dari adanya pelayanan komputer JAWS yaitu menambah pengetahuan teknologi bagi mahasiswa tuna netra serta melatih kemandirian mahasiswa tuna netra dalam mengerjakan tugas-tugas kuliah yang berkatian dengan penegtikan seperti halnya tugas makalah, skripsi dll. Adapun faktor pendukung pelaksanaan pellayanan komputer JAWS yaitu adanya semangat belajar mahasiswa tuna netra serta bantuan dari para relawan PLD. Untuk faktor penghambatnya yaitu jumlah komputer JAWS yang sangat terbatas sehingga mereka harus bergantian dalam menggunakannya.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and explain the key factors contributing on successful implementation of total quality management in Al-Hikmah Primary School of Surabaya. The sustainability of total quality management in Al-Hikmah Elementary School is proven by the increasing number of students’ enrolment which exceeded the fixed quota; the high level of teachers and students achievement; as well as the big number of competitive graduates. Using qualitative descriptive approach, this research finds that successful implementation of total quality management is highly dependent on top-down leadership system of the school, effective communication among stakeholders, the properly measured reward and punishment to students, and the continous internal and external assessment of educational quality management.

Abstract

To date, the management of educational empowerment particularly in madrasah (Islamic schools) is still struggling in finding its precise form. The madrasahs are commonly managed base on merely the managers’ personal experience, without proper scientific conception. This happens due to unhealthy condition in which the managers are repressed and burdened by complicated bureaucratic matters. On the other hand, they are also required to compete in ever growing critical society.  The main purpose of this research is to obtain the description of the Islamic educational empowerment strategies based on the Total Quality Management perspective, particularly in light of the educational leadership toward the development of the Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (State Islamic Senior High Schools) in the Province of Yogyakarta. Three methods of data gathering are employed in this research, namely in depth interview, participant observation, and documentation. The results show that, in empowering the Madrasah Aliyah, the leaders 1) rely on personal experience obtained from previous workplace, either being teacher or school principal; 2) perceive comparative study involving educational stakeholders, such as school committee, supervisors, and educational staff at Province level, as an effective tool in developing the madrasahs; 3) attend trainings or workshops held by the ministry of education; and 4) read books related to managerial tasks. Overall, the Total Quality Management can be observed through continuous improvement, culture change, reversed organization, costumers-organization good relationship, focus on costumers and the quality of teaching-learning process.

Abstract

A qualified education is an education which is able to develop nation character as well as civilization. Therefore, the values of faith, obedience, piousness, virtuous acts, healthiness,knowledge, competence, creativity, self-reliance, democracy and responsibility shouldbe strengthened within educational institutions including students and stakeholders.Nowadays, most schools superficially develop some of the educational aspects, such as,cognitive dimension that is taught through memorizing and psychomotor dimensionwhich is merely a mechanistic process. Meanwhile, other dimensions, such as relationaldimension, are not handled properly. Ideally, a qualified school should be able to developcognitive dimension, not only as a memorization but also as knowledge mastery suitableto students’ capacity as well as their endowment. From this phenomenon, I tried to offera concept of implementation and development of Islamic education within strategicmanagement framework related to teaching-learning process both in formal and nonformalschools.TheaimistofortifystudentssothattheywillkeepholdingontoQur’an, Hadits,Ijma’ and Qiyas in this global era. Core concept of the strategic managementin Islamic education is indeed still novel. Therefore, it is expected that this article canbe used in broader area of Islamic education. Moreover, it is also hoped that it willpositively affect resources allotment effectiveness in order to achieve the objective ofnational education. One way is through SWOT analysis, so that institutions of theIslamic education will be able to produce well-qualified graduates who play significantroles in society.

Abstract

This research examines the management of extracurricular education early childhood. It is backed by that implementation of extracurricular activities on early childhood education face varieties of constraints in management. Therefore, extracurricular activities, early childhood education is supposed to be managed thoughtfully. The management of extracurricular activities are good and true will effect positively to the quality of early childhood education. The qualitative research methodology is library research. Method of data collection by collecting reference books the subject matter and book supporters. Data analysis techniques are content analysis. Results of the study show that the extracurricular management, early childhood education is implemented through the following four stages: (1) plan a needs analysis, types, background, goals, budget, materials, assessment tools, schedule, facilities and infrastructure, output criteria instructors, (2) organize the Division of duties, authority and responsibilities of the personnel of extracurricular activities, (3) carry out extracurricular activities appropriate planning and organizing, and (4) evaluate extracurricular activities. Abstract

Success in employee recruitment system is a starting point toward a well performing organization. To gain employees who are match with the task requirements of an organization, requires some procedures, such as: job identification, job analysis, recruitment sources, recruitment method, and candidate interview and selection, as well as job offer. Referring to Islamic conception on employee recruitment, this research found numbers of principles in recruitment, they are: (a). merit system, that means reward system is given based on quality of services performed, (b). Belief in God and having high moral commitment to reach organizational objective, (c). avoid nepotism practices or like and dislike, and all kinds of bribery in the administration and management.   Keywords: Organizational performance, recruitment, human resources, merit system

Abstract

This research was conducted because of the death case of two students due to ‘klitih’ acts happened at SMP Piri I Yogyakarta. The phenomenon of ‘klitih’ is interesting as it closely related to the problem of character education. For that, this research focus on the efforts of the headmaster and teachers at SMP Piri I Yogyakarta in building love of peace character in the school by examining the leadership type of the headmaster, teachers exemplary, and the efforts of character building initiated by the school. By using qualitative approach, the data was gathered using indepth interview, observation, and documentation. This research finds that: first, the headmaster’s leadership type is democratic paternalistic. Second, love of peace character was build though teacher exemplary behavior using discipline, and the implementation of 5 S concept, they are salam (regards), senyum (smile), sapa (greet), sopan (polite), and segan (humble). Third, students character building was conducted by using heart, honor, tolerance, empathy, and justice. Those character is build together by all school’s community with eclectic method.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to analyze the management of ICT-based Arabic learning. This study was designed to find the management of ICT-based Arabic learning in MA Daarul Uluum Majalengka. This study proposed that the integration of various fields of studies with ICT, including Arabic language learning, is undeniably vital to be enhanced in this digital era. However, the constraints experienced by some institutions, especially the educators, have not had a clear format of the use of ICT in the integration effort of the both disciplines. This study applied a qualitative research approach. The research method was descriptive method. The data were collected by conducting observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the techniques qualitative analysis. The results showed that the design of ICT-based Arabic learning model can be developed at MA Daarul Uluum Majalengka a communicative computer-based Arabic learning model. The materials and other learning tools are designed using a computer program. Through this kind of learning models, a teacher served as learning motivator and facilitator elaborating the materials that need clarification for the learners. Abstract

This research explores the role of Madrasa’s headmaster as an academic supervisor to improve teacher’s performance in State Islamic Junior High School (MTs) of Donomulyo, Kulon progo, Yogyakarta. This is a qualitative research using non participatory observation method, interview and documentations as its data collection.  The result shows that: (1).  MTs Donomulyo employs assistance as the academic supervision concept, (2). the academic supervision programs applied to improve teachers performances are training and development for individual teachers or in group, (3). Madrasa’s headmaster’s role in the improvement of teachers’ performances involves guiding them in the form of giving motivation, encouragement, as well as giving examples. Beside that, he is also sometimes suggest for a solution, help, building commitment and training.

Abstract

Currently, the development of Islamic education is astonishing in numbers, but the spirit is generally not accompanied by adequate capacity and capability. As the consequence, most Islamic education faces problems and gives rise to negative cycles of unsolved problems. Numbers of research results have suggested that the schools could turn the negative cycles into the positive one, or to transform the Islamic education from low quality of education into good quality schools. It necessitates an ideal leadership through a transformative leadership model. In order to build such leadership, this study aims to nbe an important part to profoundly describe the social values ​​of the kiai leadership as the core values ​​of a transformative leadership using Pierre Bourdieu's social practice theory of social action, between (Habitus x Capital) + Ranah = Practice. Using the above perspective, the internalization of the values ​​referred to be social capital for the kiai to give birth to the model of transformative leadership. Because essentially the above value system is a holistic expression of the role and social actions of kiai that comes from al-Qur'an and al-Hadith as a belief and a basic value in the midst of society to make changes. The habitualization of the above values ​​is an alternative in developing Islamic education, and is seen as the main source and force for change, through the actions and roles of kiai as leaders.
