Abstract

Teachers have an essential role in determining the success of education. Teacher performance is of particular concern in the world of education. This study examines the influence of madrasah principal leadership, work environment, and work motivation on teacher performance. The research approach uses a quantitative approach with a correlational type. The population in this study were Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri teachers throughout Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh Province. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The data collection is a questionnaire measured by a Likert Scale. The validity test was calculated by comparing the r-table at a significant level of 0.05 with degrees of freedom (n-2). The reliability test was carried out using Cronbach Alpha. Data analysis used Partial Least Square to analyze the outer Model, Inner Model, and Bootstrapping. The results showed that the leadership of the madrasah principal had a significant positive effect on work motivation, the work environment has a significant positive impact on teacher work motivation, and the principal’s leadership also has a significant positive impact on teacher performance. The teacher’s work environment has a negative and insignificant effect on teacher performance, while work motivation has a positive and minor impact on teacher performance. Another finding is that there is no indirect effect between the principal’s leadership on teacher performance through work motivation. There is no indirect effect of the work environment on teacher performance through work motivation. Excellent leadership role, well-environment and high work motivation will optimize the teacher performance.

Abstract

Internship is a stage of education in Vocational High Schools that trains students to adapt to the business world and practice the competencies they learn in school directly in the industrial world. But unfortunately, not all vocational students who take part in internship programs in the industrial world can be well received. This study wants to look more deeply into how strategic management empowers Vocational High Schools in preparing students for the internship. This research uses mixed methods, more specifically the Embedded Design. Samples were taken randomly as many as 61 teachers and 353 students using the random sampling technique. Through SPACE Matrix analysis, it is known that the appropriate strategy in developing schools is to support an aggressive approach, namely by implementing the SO (Strategy to use power to reach opportunity) strategy. So it can be explained that the profile of Vocational High School 1 Kademangan is stable and can continue to prepare internship students with plans to take advantage of existing opportunities to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This research discusses the management of the Quran learning curriculum at Integrated-Islamic Elementary School of Luqman Al-Hakim Yogyakarta. This research is field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research data was taken from various scientific writings, school curriculum documents, field observation notes, and interviewees determined by non-probability sampling and purposive sampling. The data were tested by data triangulation and analyzed using the Miles & Huberman technique: (a) data reduction, (b) data presentation, (c) conclusion and verification. The results: The Quran learning curriculum is a set of educational program plans, target achievements, and learning strategies that are carried out so that students read the Quran Tartil and have three juz of memorization. The curriculum management process includes planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating.

Abstract

The pandemic COVID-19 has opened new horizons in all parts of the world, including in education. Educational institutions must make breakthroughs related to the number of student admissions, which has decreased significantly, especially at Vocational School of Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study was to find a promotion model for student admissions from a neuroscience perspective at Vocational School of Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. This study uses a qualitative method. The subjects of this study were the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, the vice principal for public relations, the head of the admission committee, and the prospective students. Researchers used observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, display data, and conclusion drawing/verification data. This study indicates that neuroscience as a brain approach (cortex prefrontal) can attract the sympathy of prospective new students to study at Vocational School of Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. It is a solution to meet the target group for majors at school. This research has implications for school management and Islamic education management in student admission department.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of transformational leadership on innovative behavior through psychological empowerment as a mediation variable. This study used quantitative methods. The data collected by interviews and questionnaires. The samples were taken using a saturated model from 42 responden of student association of Islamic Education Management Study Program, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. The data were analyzed using descriptive, regression, and path analysis. The results showed that transformational leadership significantly influenced students' innovative behavior directly or mediated by psychological empowerment variables. The resulting impact of pathway coefficients on psychological empowerment has a considerable effect on the innovative behavior of students with a p-values value of 0.003 < from 0.05; transformational leadership has a substantial impact on innovative behavior through psychological empowerment with a p-values value of 0,000 > 0.05. It shows that improving students' innovative behavior can be achieved with transformational leadership roles through psychological empowerment variable in student association of Islamic Education Management Study Program, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. The association of students are expected to pay attention to students needs and activities, create a comfortable organizational environment to optimizing student activities.

Abstract

This study explores new media for the admission system at Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School, Tulungagung. Innovations in registering new students need to be carried out to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Islamic boarding schools require a registration form that can be accessed online to accept new students. This study uses a qualitative method. The data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The waterfall analysis model is used for analyzing the admission system. The interactive analysis model is used for the data analysis technique. The validity of the data is done by triangulation of techniques and sources. The study results: The service for accepting new students during the covid 19 pandemic was carried out online using the google form media. The use of the media is effortless, so it is easy to apply. However, parents of prospective students need a long time to use the online form. This research implies that the free online form provided by Google can be a practical and easy solution for Islamic boarding schools that have limited resources in accepting new students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Chongraksat Wittaya School Pattani, Thailand, is one of the most prominent Islamic schools in Pattani, Southern Thailand. This school has a dualism of management, including the applied curriculum, namely the religious and academic curriculum. Although the Thai kingdom regulates these two curricula, schools can adapt to their needs for religious curricula. This article examines the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum at Chongraksat Wittaya School Pattani, Thailand. It uses a qualitative method and a phenomenological approach with data collecting from interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. Then, data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, model data, and conclusions. The results showed that the Chongraksat Wittaya school implemented an integrated curriculum, namely the religious curriculum (Sassanah), which contained Dirasah Islamiyah, and the academic curriculum (Saman) included general subject matter. This school has regular classes and special classes. Curriculum planning is carried out together with Village Experts at the beginning of each semester. The curriculum is implemented with 40% of the religious curriculum (Sassanah) and 60% of the academic curriculum (Saman). Evaluation is carried out by briefings, daily meetings, early semester meetings, and annual meetings. Student learning is in the form of numeric and descriptive. The evaluation of the model uses the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, and Product) model.

Abstract

Implementing human resource management at Vocational High School Khoiriyah is guided by Islamic boarding school values. The teachers at that school are very heterogeneous. The difference can be seen in the competence and mastery of technology. This study describes the human resource planning carried out by Vocational High School Khoiriyah Hasyim Tebuireng. The method used qualitatively with observations, interviews, and documentation for data collections. The results showed that human resource planning at Vocational High School Khoiriyah was carried out centrally in the quality assurance unit of the Islamic Boarding School. The results of human resource planning were approved by KH M Hasyim Asy’ari Foundation. The implementation of human resource planning at Vocational High School Khoiriyah, on enhancing teacher performance is based on Islamic Boarding School values by prioritizing cultural values. In the process, human resource planning also involves the business and industry for following the expertise program at Vocational High School Khoiriyah Tebuireng.
