Abstract

The increase in extreme climate events in recent years is the impact of climate change.Extreme climatic events trigger anomalies of the weather causing climateclassification mismatches.This study aims to determine the pattern of rainfall in the influence of extreme conditions, as well as changes in Oldeman climate classification in Jember Regency, based on rainfall data for the last 30 years.The results showed (a) the pattern of below normal rainfall in Jember Regency influenced by the incidence of El Nino, while rainfall above normal influenced by La Nina, (b) rainfall in every decade tends to increase in the last 30 years, (c) there has been a change in the type of Oldeman climate classification in most areas of Jember Regency to be drier than in the 1975 with loss of climate typesof B1, B2 and C2.

Abstract

Circula trifenestrata is a kind of golden silkworms that are native wild habitat tropical areas like Indonesia. This gold silkworm living on host plants such as cashew nut, avocado, cocoa, soursop, mango, quinine and kedondong. Sidomulyo is largest coffee producer in Jember, and avocado crops are very abundant population because these plants shade the coffee plants. People assume that this type of worm that attacked the plant avocado is a kind of pest caterpillars can spend the leaves quickly and reduce the productivity of harvesting the fruit so that the caterpillars are often exterminated by farmers. The purpose of this study was to determine the outlook and development strategy pests into gold silk as potential Kab.Jember Sidomulyo village. Respondents who used an avocado farmer in the village of Sidomulyo, using analysis of FFA (Force Field Analysis) that identify factors driving and inhibiting factors in an activity will be achieved. The results showed the total value of the park on the driving factor is equal to 1.59 (D2 silkworm cocoon abundance of gold in avocados) while the number of inhibiting factors in the amount of 1.40 (H4 has been no development of silkworm farming gold in Kab.Jember). It shows that the value of the driving factors is greater than the value of the park in an inhibiting factor. Therefore, the cultivation of silkworms in Jember has the advantage to improve the prospects and potential development of silkworm gold C.trifenestrata in Jember. Keywords: Circula trifenestrata, silkworms gold, avocado, potential village

Abstract

Keunggulan tembakau White Burley untuk dikembangkan melalui teknik kultur jaringan dikarenakankadar nikotin yang lebih rendah dan ketahanan terhadap penyakit tanamantanaman. Kendala pengembangan kultur tembakau antara lain adalah kemampuan eksplantembakau beregenerasi dan berdiferensiasi untuk membentuk tunasseringkali berlebihan.Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peranan zat pengatur tumbuh eksogen dari golongan sitokinin agar tujuan perbanyakan tanaman dapat tercapai dengan hasil bibit tembakau White Burley yang berkualitas. Penelitian dilakukan berdasar Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan perlakuan tunggal konsentrasi Benzyl Amino Purine 0 ppm, 1 ppm, 2 ppm, 3 ppm dan 4 ppm.  Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa peran BAPpada media MS mempengaruhi eksplan tembakau White Burleypada kecepatan bertunas, jumlahtunas dan tinggi tunas. Kecepatan pembentukan tunas tercepat pada perlakuan MS + 3 ppm BAP dengan rata-rata 15,75 HST, jumlah tunas terbanyak pada perlakuan MS+ 2 ppm BAP dengan rata-rata 28,375 tunas dan tunas tertinggi pada perlakuan MS+ 4 ppm BAP dengan rata-rata 18,00cm. Kata kunci : BAP, induksi tunas, kultur tembakau, White Burley

Abstract

This research was conducted at central of artificial insemination Tuah Sakato in May 2015. The purpose of this research to know the relationship of the circumference to the scrotum on the quality of the testicles simmental bulls production.  The materials used were of 13 Simmental Bulls. The parameters of research is the parameter independent in circumference the scrotum and dependent of the parameters of the volume of semen , the consistency of cement , the concentration of spermatozoa and motility spermatozoa. Regression analisys simple was used to process the data. Results showed that the relationship between scrotal circumference and semen volume with : Y = -8.965 + 0.401 X; scrotal circumference and spermatozoa concentration :Y = 1175.533 + 14.846 X; scrotal circumference with semen consistency :Y = 0.348 + -0.057 X and scrotal circumference with sperm  motility with equation Y = 31.328 + 0.783 X. It can be concluded that scrotal circumference had not a significant effect (P>0.05) on consistency , concentration and sperm  motility but significant (P<0.05)  on semen volume.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the use of fermented corn tumpi on the fat tail sheep fattening and sheep production performance which includes the consumption of feed dry matter (DM), daily weight gain, and feed conversion. The study consisted of three treatments, namely, control diet without tumpi corn fermentation (P0), feed containing 30% tumpi fermentation (P1), and feed containing 60% tumpi corn fermentation(P2). Replicates at each treatment consists of three sheep. The method used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and significantly different results in a further test using the least significant difference test (LSD). The results showed that the use of fermented corn tumpi are not significantly different (P> 0.05) on dry matter intake. But the use of fermented corn tumpi significantly different (P <0.05) on daily weight gain and feed conversion. Average daily weight gain was  the highest in P1 of 140.47 grams / head / day. Keyword : Sheep, fattening, tumpi corn fermentation

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the nutrient composition of sorghum forage with the addition of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (VAM) was conducted for 5 months  from June to November 2016. Sorghum is grown in polybags and placed on the forage land of the State Agricultural Polytechnic of Kupang. This study was conducted using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications, The treatment were: without mycorrhizal fungi (S0), mycorrhizal fungi 5 gram/polybag (S5), mycorrhizal fungus 10 gram/polybag (S10) and mycorrhizal fungus 15 gram/polybag. The measured variables were dry matter (DM) content, ash content, crude protein (CP) content, ether extract (EE) content, crude fiber (CF) content  and nitrogen free ekstract (NFE) content. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance and followed by Duncan's multiple-range test. The results showed that the level of mycorrhizal fungi use only significant (P<0.05) to the ether extract (EE) content, crude fiber (CF) content  and nitrogen free ekstract (NFE) content, while the content of dry matter (DM), ash content and crude protein (CP) content No significant effect (P> 0.05). The Average dry matter content 16,27%; ash content of 11.03%; crude protein content of 10.12%; ether extract content 2.94%; crude fiber content 22.61% and NFE content 53.30%. Keywords : sorghum forage, vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) level, nutrient composition.

Abstract

Ectoparasitic infestation is one of the major animal health issues affecting on the livestock industry in many parts of the world. Haematopinus sp. is an ectoparasite that causes pediculosis (ptiriasis) in cattle, investing in large quantities causes itching and weight loss because it causes irritation, discomfort, and several studies explain that Haematopinus sp. can lead to decreased milk production and decreased quality of cow products. The objective of the study was to identify Haematopinus sp. in Limousin cows from Karanganyar and Fries Holland (FH) cows from Boyolali based on their morphology. Haematopinus sp. samples were taken from the tail end area, perineal vulva, ears and around the eyes of cows as much 5 – 10 tails of each 1 cow that was invested. The results of morphological identification were analyzed descriptively. Haematopinus sp. samples in Limousin cows from Karanganyar and Fries Holland (FH) cows from Boyolali was identified as Haematopinus quadripertusus.                                                                                                                                                 Keywords : Ectoparasit, Haematopinus, Louse, Ptiriasis

Abstract

One of the activities that absorb a lot of labor is the activity of planting rice seedlings (transplanting seedlings). These activities require about 25% of the labor needs of rice cultivation. the scarcity of labor in agriculture and the declining interest of young people in the agricultural sector is one of the obstacles in the agricultural sector. These constraints can threaten the uniformity of planting time, increase productivity and shrinking rice crops in a stretch or area that will ultimately disturb the achievement of national self-sufficiency rice targets. So the need for an alternative use of mechanization technology for this move planting activity is simple, easy and cheap.The objective of this research is to make transplanter with crankcatching system for two rows which are ergonomic, affordable and suitable for the condition and habits of rice farmers in Indonesia.The design approach for the design of this machine uses a method developed by Gerhardt Pahl and Wolfgang Beitz described in the Engineering Design book, so that the design approach is based on a functional design approach and a structural design approach. Stages of design of this machine include the identification of problems, formulation and refinement of ideas, the selection of design concepts, analysis and drawing work, prototype tool making, testing and refinement prototype tool.The output in this study is a simple planting tool (transplanter) with a crank system for four lines that are ergonomic, affordable, and ready to apply. Plant spacing on the tool is arranged by referring to Government recommendation that is using planting system of legowo, with spacing between line 20 cm, 40 cm, 20 cm, spacing in line 12 cm, while tool width 80 cm. Tests using seedlings that have been seedlings for 20 days, with the average seed height 22 cm.Field testing showed that the rice seedlings plant has a working capacity of 0.16 ha / hour, at a road speed of 2 km / h, the number of seeds per clump of 2 seeds / grove, 5.2 cm planting depth, 90o plant resistance angle, empty 20%, percentage of seeds collapsed 5%, percentage of seeds scattered 5%.Keywords: transplanter, seedlings, rice
