This study discusses Speech of Three Years Old Children in Language Acquisition. The purpose of this study is to find out that three-year-old children in the pronunciation of vowels and consonants of words or sentences are still less precise and unclear, to find out why three- years old children cannot compose perfect sentences in conversation. A qualitative descriptive method was applied to analyze the data. The data of this study were taken from the of three- years old children speech, namely DSZ and SYF. The results obtained indicated that the research subjects were able to produce sentences according to their function as a communicative functions, namely declarative sentences, interrogative sentences, and command sentences. Some were influenced by cognitive factors, social background, and input to improve communication and language development. So that the research subjects can master the language and communicate well

the development of the current era is changing so fast that students and teachers get so much convenience from the availability of electronic media, one of which is wattpad media. Wattpad is a platform that provides various stories, articles or poems in English online and offline. Wattpad was created by Allen Lau and Ivan Yuen in 2006. In Indonesia, the results of data taken from the Progress of International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS, 2011) also show that Indonesia is ranked 41st out of 45 countries. This case has become commonplace in Indonesia due to the lack of interest in reading and special attention from the Indonesian government. From the availability of the Wattpad application which has interesting stories and is easy to access by anyone, is it so that reading interest, especially in Indonesia, through the data collected, makes reading interest and understanding in reading increase.

New words are needed not only to increase our vocabulary but also to create new sentences. The new words purchased by the word training process can be made in many ways. One of the most commonly used methods to form new words is assigned by prefix or suffix. The aims of this study is to analyze the morphological word formation in @vvrites (on twitter) Fictional Story “Bittersweet on Your Mouth, Can Your Stomach Doubt?”. The method used by the researcher is a qualitative method, where the researcher investigate the formation of words in the fictional strory from @vvrites ( on twitter ) entitled “Bittersweet on Your Mouth, Can Your Stomach Doubt?” on twitter. The result of this study are the researchers found some types of forming words that will be explained one by one.Keywords : Word Formation, Fiction, Twitter

This research entitled Analysis of English Clause Patterns: A Qualitative Analytical on Clause Pattern in Novel. The aim of this research is to give an explanation in syntactic analysis of the three clause patterns and to give an explanation of each of them in ”Fox Evil”novel by Minette Walters. Clauses can be categorized by the verb used in it. There are two verbs, transitive and intransitive verb. Transitive verb devided into two, monotransitive verb is verb has only one object that called as direct object and ditransitive verb has two objects namely direct object and indirect object. The method that the researcher used in this research is descriptive qualitative as its method to analyze and describe entire data. The data are taken from “Fox Evil” novel by Minette Walters. After getting the data, the researcher analyzed it syntactically. In addition, it is able to be concluded this research those sentence that using transitive verb can analyze based on syntactic unit perspective. Based on the data findings, the writer found that there are 30 data, those are analyzed syntactically based on the clause patterns. The entire three clause patterns were found in the novel fox evil, with details: clause pattern S + V + O as much as 10 data (33,3%), clause pattern S + V + C as much as 10 data (33,3%), clause pattern S + V + AD as much as 10 data (33,3%).

Presupposition And Entailment In The Film “Beauty And The Beast” By Stephen Chbosky And Evan Spilotopoulos Andrew Fraditya Laudry; Muhammad Farhan; Robyatul Rahmah; Emiliya Sukma Dara Damanik

ABSTARCTThis study aims to analyze presupposition and entailment found in the film “Beauty And The Beast” By Stephen Chbosky and Evan Spilotopoulos. The method that used in this study is descriptive qualitative research, which attempt identify and analyze based on theory of George Yule about the types of presupposition, the meaning of presupposition in the film “Beauty And The Beast”. According to Yule 1996, there are 6 types of presupposition, they are : Existensial presupposition, Factive presupposition, Lexical presupposition, Structural presupposition, Non-factive presupposition, and Counterfaction presupposition. The data was taken from the source of data, which is from script of beauty and the beast by stephen chbosky and evan spilotopoulos. The result of this study is the authors found that there are 2 Existensial presupposition, 2 Factive presupposition, 2 Lexical presupposition, 6 Structural presupposition, 2 Non-factive presupposition and authors didn’t find dialogue about Counterfactive presupposition and The Entailment. The dominant types of presupposition that authors found in script of beauty and the beast’s film is structural presupposition.KEYWORDS : Entailment, Film, Pragmatic, Presupposition

THE USE OF DICTOGLOSS TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ WRITING IN MUHAMMADIYAH PLUS SECONDARY SCHOOL BATAM Leil Badrah Zaki

Teaching writing in secondary school is found as another level of skill to be mastered (Abdulwahed and Ismail, 2011; Pertiwi and Drajati (2018); Ardiansyah, (2020)). Research about teaching writing at this junior high school level often got less attention which happened in Muhammadiyah Plus Secondary School Batam. However, students at this level are supposed to be able to master the writing skill as well as learn other skills in English. In implementing that, thus, a teaching method is needed to be chosen. In this study, the researcher will examine the use of Dictogloss as a technique to improve secondary students’ writing skills. Dictogloss is going to use as a treatment to help students to develop their grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation as found as the mostly error made by them. This learning which will integrate dictation given by the researcher and peer-assessment as a technique to analyse is expected to be beneficial. Hence, the aim of this study is to analyse the use of Dictogloss to improve students writing skills. The participants are the students from grade 9A, 26 students in total, in Muhammadiyah Plus Secondary School Batam. The class subject is going to be The English Cambridge exposing about Procedure Text. In order to apply the research, a Classroom Action Research (CAR) is selected as the research method to use. Esther Greenwood Mental Disorder in Sylvia Plath's Novel The Bell Jar Vella Nandita Desyana

This article discusses the mental disorder experienced by Esther Greenwood as the main character in the novel The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. This study was conducted to reveal the picture of mental disorders experienced by Esther Greenwood by analyzing the symptoms of depression experienced by her. The approach used in this research is literary psychology with qualitative descriptive methods. Based on research using the theory from Lubis (2016), the symptoms of depression character Esther Greenwood in the novel The Bell Jar are emotional symptoms, cognitive symptoms, fear symptoms and psychic symptoms.Keywords: Depression, Mental Disorders, Literary Psychology, The Bell Jar.

This study examines the social life of the character Anne in the novel Persuasion, a classic novel written by Jane Austen. There are two formulations of the problem. The first issue is about how Anne Elliot's character is described in Persuasion. The second problem is about how gender and social class issues are related to Anne's life. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Anne Elliot is a wonderful person, charming, friendly, intelligent, open-minded, multi-talented and helpful. In the Middle Ages, women were considered powerless to make decisions and had to obey the rules of family and society, not preventing Anne from fighting for what she really wanted. Anne, who came from a prominent family where her father was in a high position at work, was willing and able to break the rules against relations of different social status and class. His awareness and power to make decisions eventually lead him to true love and true happiness, without interference, coercion, and persuasion from others.
