Jurnal Pembelajaran Sains (Print ISSN: 2355-7044; Online ISSN: 2527-9157) provides a place for teachers, academics, lecturers, and students to share and discuss the results of their research in the field of science education. JPS publishes academic articles that focus on teaching and learning science from a range of basic education to higher education. This journal serves as a bridge between researchers and practitioners (teachers at every level of education) in sharing and providing information, ideas and opinions about the reality of education experienced by each. Science education which is included in the focus of JPS is not only limited to science education at the junior high school level. JPS also publishes academic articles related to the results of research in the fields of chemical education, physical education, and biological education for the level of basic education to higher education. JPS also does not close itself to publish academic articles related to the integration of science education with other disciplines, such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), geography, social education, and art. However, academic articles relating to research in the field of pure science and education in general (not related to science / Science education) will not be considered for publication by JPS. Academic articles in the field of science education published by JPS can be in the form of empirical research, such as the development / application of learning models and strategies, the development and innovation of teaching materials and learning media, and the development of learning evaluation instruments. Both the academic articles of experimental research and the results of classroom action research (CAR) are highly accepted for publication in JPS. All academic articles published by JPS must follow the applicable research rules and any data / research results can be justified by the author.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe student learning outcomes after the application of the Snowball Throwing learning model on the Additive Substance material. This type of research was a quantitative descriptive research. The form of design used was the one-shot case study. This research was conducted in 1 meeting with a time allocation of 3 × 40 minutes or 120 minutes. The instrument used was in the form of test questions for students' cognitive understanding. Data collection was obtained from student learning outcomes (posttest) expressed as student completeness and learning indicator completeness. Student learning outcomes data (posttest) showed that learning using the Snowball Throwing model has created a success in learning that was the average grade value was 75.77 while the Minimum Criteria Completeness on science subjects was 65. Mastery Learning Indicators (KIP) in this study amounted to 76.45. This study showed that learning using the Snowball Throwing model has completed student learning outcomes and learning indicators.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model Group Investigation terhadap hasil belajar serta mendeskripsikan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah menggunakan model Group Investigation. Penelitian ini menggunakan quasy experimental design dengan tipe posttest only control design. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 2 dari 7 kelas VIII yang ada di sekolah atas rekomendasi guru IPA. Instrumen pada penelitian ini berupa instrumen tes kognitif dengan bentuk soal pilihan ganda dan soal uraian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelas kontrol 70 dan kelas eksperimen sebesar 78. Sedangkan perolehan dari analisis posttest melalui uji t kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen yaitu sig. (2-tailed) lebih kecil dari 0.05 yaitu 0.000. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Group Investigation berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VIII dan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol. Abstract

This research was a development research that aim to produce teaching materials in the form of Student Worksheets based un Contextual Teaching and Learning on Mirror material.  This study used ADDIE development model, with stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This study used instruments in the form of worksheets validation sheets, worksheets material validation sheets, and posttest sheets. The result of the study showed that the worksheets developed had met the aspects of validity, and effectiveness. The validity aspect was shown by the results of the worksheets validation of 3,71 and the results of the worksheets material validation of 3,92 with very valid categories. The mastery of student learning outcomes amounted to be 77,8 (Effective), and mastery of learning objective was 78,8 including the effective category. So that it can be concluded that the worksheets developed were qualified and worthy of being used as a learning resource.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop learning devices with Etnoid assisted guided inquiry models in eighth-grade students at Semester II in Ngunut 2 Junior High School in Tulungagung. This research a  in two stages, namely the preparation stage which aims to develop the device followed by the implementation stage of learning in the classroom using the pretest-posttest design. The validation test consisted of media validation tests by media expert lecturers from the Chemistry Department and the material validation test by material experts from the Science Study Program lecturers. The learning phase was carried out by involving 30 eighth grade students at Ngunut 2 Junior High School who had taken the material of vibration and waves. The results of the development are in the form of learning tools with the Etnoid assisted guided inquiry model. The result of the validity value of 93.88% is a very valid category, the practicality value of 86.70% is a very practical category, and the effectiveness value is 0.703 high category information is very effective to use in learning. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can categories that the learning device with the Etnoid assisted guided inquiry model which has been developed has met very decent criteria. So, it can improve students' high-level thinking skills.

Abstract

The general purpose of this study was to describe the application of the jigsaw learning model on Light and Optical Devices material. The specific purposes were (1) describing the implication of the jigsaw learning model, (2) describing completeness of learning after applying the jigsaw learning model and (3) describing student responses after learning by applying the jigsaw learning model. This was a quantitative and qualitative descriptive research because the data obtained was the form of the nominal described. Data collection techniques in the study were observation, test and questionnaires methods. The data gained were analysed used qualitative and quantitative fly The results showed that The implementation of learning based on teacher activities at the first and second meetings goes an average of 82,35% with very good criteria. The value of completeness of students achieved 86 with complete criteria. Students’ positive response to model jigsaw learning reached 90,95% with very good criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ketuntasan hasil belajar peserta didik dan pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing terhadap hasil belajar. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan rancangan posttest-only control group. Sampel yang digunakan, yaitu kelas VIII J sebagai kelas kontrol dengan proses belajar mengajar menggunakan metode konvensional dan kelas VIII H sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan proses belajar mengajar menerapkan model inkuiri terbimbing. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah tes dengan soal pilihan ganda. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kelas kontrol memiliki nilai ketuntasan hasil belajar 53,1 dan kelas ekspreimen 87,8. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen adalah 77,2 dan 87,3 serta uji hipotesis t-test menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa ketuntasan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen berbeda secara signifikan dan lebih baik dibanding kelas kontrol; serta model inkuiri terbimbing memengaruhi hasil belajar peserta didik secara signifikan.
