Abstract

This study aims to develop and obtain valid, practical, and effective realistic mathematics learning tools. The learning tools developed are in the form of lesson plans (RPP), student activity sheets (LKPD), and critical thinking skills tests. The learning device development model used in this study is the four-D from Thiagarajan covering four stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. However, in this study it was not carried out until implementation so that the result was a final prototype of a learning device that was ready to be implemented. The subjects in this study were 20 fifth grade students at SDN Menur Pumpungan, Surabaya. The results showed that the learning tools developed had high validity, practicality, and effectiveness values. This can be seen from the opinion of the validator, the teacher's response, the student's response, and the results of the field test. Based on the results of field trials, a realistic learning approach can improve students' critical thinking skills better. From these results, it is suggested that learning mathematics in elementary schools uses a realistic mathematics learning approach

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran berbasis  etnomatematika dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian Kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan studi dokumen dan dianalisis dengan teknis analisis deskriptif. Penelitian kepustakaan adalah penelitian yang datanya bersumber dari buku, kamus , dokumen ,majalah, jurnal dan lain sebagainya. (Harahap, 2014) Sedangkan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknis analisis dekriptif dengan melihat data-data peneleitian penelitian yang sudah dilakukan oleh orang orang terdahulu yang berkaitan dengan penelitian etnomatematika.hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Etnomatematika terbukti dapat membuat hasil belajar siswa lebih meningkat itu sudah dibuktikan oleh penelitian penelitian yang sudah dilakukan oleh para peneliti yang sudah dilakukan terdahulu yang akan disebutkan dalam pembahasan penelitian ini. Oleh karena itu etnomatematika dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam melakukan pembelajaran yang efektif dan menyenangkan selain itu juga etnomatimatika bisa meningkatkan kemampuan matematis siswa seperti hasil hasil penelitian yang akan dibahas dalam pembahasan ini serta dapat menambah kecintaan para siswa agar mengerti budayanya sendiri.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe students’ mathematical communication skills during online learning in terms of learning motivation during the covid-19 pandemic and gender. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 6 samples consisting of 1 male subject with high learning motivation, 1 female subject with high learning motivation, 1 male subject with moderate learning motivation, 1 female subject with moderate learning motivation, 1 male subject with low learning motivation and 1 female subject with low learning motivation. The instrument in this study used a learning motivation questionnaire and a test of mathematical communication skills. Data analysis was carried out, namely data categorization and reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The triangulation technique is carried out by comparing the results of the subject’s communication ability test with the interview as a test of the validity of the data. The conclusion of this study, in total communication skills both oral and written, subjects with moderate and low learning motivation, both male and female, were better than subjects with high learning motivation, both male and female. Mathematical communication skills both oral and in writing, female gender subjects are better than male gender subjects

Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of inclusive education in regular schools, based on policies for implementing inclusive education in every school since PPDB in 2019, as well as the mathematical problem solving abilities of slow learner inclusive students. The research method used in this research is a case study qualitative research method, where the researcher examines in depth the profile of inclusive education in the research area, the mathematical problem solving ability of slow learner students. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 96 Jakarta, with two slow learner participants sitting in class XI MIPA, namely the first participant (SN) and the second participant (DR). Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis before the research was conducted was used by researchers to determine slow learner participants and the place of research. analysis when the research was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was checked by data triangulation, source triangulation and time triangulation. The results of the study show that inclusive education for slow learners in regular schools is the same as regular education, there are no modifications in terms of curriculum or question instruments, as well as completeness standards. The mathematical problem solving ability of slow learner students is in the moderate to low range, this is based on the difficulty of slow learners in making mathematical models.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a valid and practical learning media in terms of theory and practice. The learning media expected to be effective to improve students critical thinking ability in linear program of two-variable material. This study uses the Research and Development (R and D) method starting from potential and problem discovery, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, limited trial, product revision, wider trial, product revision and mass production. However, due to time constrains this research was only carried out until a wilder trial stage. The subjectin this research were students of class X AV in SMK N 39 Jakarta. The data analysis in this study is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the educational game "Petualangan Program Linier" is valid as a learning media. The result showed that the media validation got 83.91%. Then the game is valid to be practical in terms of theory and practical aspects. Based on the results of the feasibility test, theory ascpect in  this game got 89.44%. And for the assessment of practical aspects that were assessed based on the satisfaction of student responses, they got 82.61%. The game "Petualangan Program Linier" is effective for practicing  students critical thinking ability. This is evidenced by student learning outcomes which were assessed based on indicators of critical thinking ability. The results showed that 78.26% of students were able to achieve the Minimum Completeness Criteria

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the students’ algebraic thinking skills and errors in solving algebraic problems on volume of cube material for class VIII of Junior High School. The research design used was in a form of the descriptive qualitative research method. This study captured the students’ algebraic thinking skill on two indicators, namely the students’ ability to represent problems in the relationship between variables and the students’ ability to perform operations on algebraic form. Based on the result of the categorization, three students from the high-level category were chosen as the subjects of this study. In depth interviews were given to the subjects of the study in order to explore the answers that they provide on the mathematic problems given. The findings revealed that the students with high-level of algebraic thinking skills could solve mathematics problem in algebraic form correctly especially in transformational activities. It was indicated by the students’ ability to provide a solution for algebraic equation problems. Meanwhile, the students’ error in solving the mathematical problems in a form of build-cube space was due to the students’ inaccuracy in writing the final results on the answer sheets for the algebraic thinking ability test. Overall, the students encountered several types of errors, those were the error in the procedural and technical/calculated on comparisons, the error in witing mathematical units, and lastly the error in substituting variables

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the important subjects for students, but many of the students do not understand mathematics subjects, especiaIIy in soIving contextuaI probIems. This articIe aims to describe students' errors in soIving contextuaI probIems based on Newman's anaIysis. This type of research is quaIitative research. The data coIIection method used in this research is the observation method in the form of test resuIts and fieId notes. The resuIts showed that there were severaI types of student errors in soIving contextuaI questions, nameIy errors in reading terms, symboIs, words or important information in questions by 22%. Errors in understanding the questions in the form of not knowing what the question was asked and wrong in capturing the information contained in the questions so that they couId not continue to the next process by 18,5%. Errors in the transformation process in the form of not being abIe to change the probIem into the form of a mathematicaI modeI that is correct and incorrect in using the sign of arithmetic operations in soIving probIems is 13,5%. Errors in process skiIIs in the form of errors in caIcuIating or computing and not continuing the compIetion procedure by 26,5%. Errors in writing the finaI answer in the form of not being abIe to write the finaI answer that was ordered by the question and unabIe to concIude the answer in accordance with the mathematicaI sentence and Iess thorough in concIuding the answer by 16%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze students' learning difficulties in solving mathematical problems on the material of opportunity. There are several indicators contained in mathematical problem solving abilities, namely understanding the problem, planning a solution, implementing the plan,  and re-examining the process and results. The subjects in this study were students from SMP/MTs equivalent in the city of Jakarta, totaling 121 students. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive research method. The instrument tested in this study is a mathematical problem solving ability test with 5 description questions related to the material opportunity. Google form is used as a data collection technique to test mathematical problem solving abilities. The research data was obtained using the Winsteps application and then analyzed using the Rasch model. The results of data analysis in this study indicate that there are students' learning difficulties in solving mathematical problems on the material of opportunity, which is contained in the indicator of planning a settlement (Devising a plan), where students are not able to formulate mathematical problems or develop mathematical models on the problems given opportunities.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu (1) Mengetahui rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model Accelerated Learning Cycle (ALC) yang didukung aplikasi Android lebih baik daripada rata-rata kelas yang diajar dengan model saintifik. (2) Untuk mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM), digunakan model Accelerated Learning Cycle (ALC) yang didukung oleh aplikasi Android untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa peserta pembelajaran matematika meningkat. (3) Untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa berpengaruh terhadap minat belajar dengan menggunakan model Accelerated Learning Cycle (ALC) berbantuan aplikasi android. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP kelas VIII. Data diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, angket minat belajar, dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis true experimental. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan. (1) terdapat perbedaan rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. (2) terdapat nilai diatas KKM dengan menggunakan model Accelerated Learning Cycle (ALC) berbantuan aplikasi android. (3) terdapat pengaruh antara kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

AbstractAlgebraic ability is an important part in mathematics. Someone with good algebraic ability will have good performancein mathematics. Math performance has related with attitudes toward mathematics. Someone with good math performance will have good math ability too. Algebraic ability can represent the quantitative situation so someone with good algebraic ability can see the relationship between variables clearly. Attitudes toward mathematics is positive or negative feelings toward math.  The methods in this study uses a mixed methods with sequential explanatory design where research is conducted in two stages, followed by a quantitative research to know algebraic ability after learning with TAI’s Learning Model and followed with a qualitative research to analyze the algebraic in terms of  attitudes toward mathematics. The quantitative research start with choosing sample students in XI IPA 5 of MAN 2 Kudus, when the qualitative research took seven students in that class. After all students in that class learned and participated in algebraic ablility test, there are correlation between attitute towards mathematics and algebraic ability.AbstrakKemampuan aljabar merupakan salah satu hal penting dalam matematika. Dengan kemampuan aljabar yang baik, performa matematika seseorang akan meningkat. Performa matematika memiliki kaitan dengan  sikap terhadap matematika. Ketika performa matematika seseorang baik, maka kemampuan-kemampuan matematika dalam diri orang tersebut juga relatif baik. Kemampuan aljabar mampu merepresentasikan situasi kuantitatif sehingga seseorang yang memiliki kemampuan aljabar mampu melihat hubungan antar variabel menjadi jelas. Sikap terhadap matematika merupakan perasaan positif atau negatif seseorang terhadap matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed methods dengan menggunakan desain sequential explanatory dimana penelitian dilakukan dengan dua tahap yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan menguji kemampuan aljabar setelah diajar dengan model TAI dan selanjutnya akan dilanjutkan dengan analisis kemampuan aljabar bila ditinjau dari sikap siswa. Penelitian kuantitatif mengambil sampel siswa kelas XI IPA 5 di MAN 2 Kudus, sementara penelitian kualitatifnya mengambil subjek penelitian tujuh siswa dari kelas tersebut. Setelah siswa kelas tersebut menerima pembelajaran dan mengikuti tes kemampuan aljabar, ditemukan pengaruh sikap siswa terhadap matematika pada tingkat kemampuan aljabar yang dimiliki.
