Abstract

Attribute Selection is very important for classification process. This research has been done by doing attribute selection using PSO method (Particle Swarm Optimization) on SVM algorithm (Support Vector Machine). The development of the classification model uses three parameters especially data attribute, influence of the transformation of various kernel function and penalty factor (C) toward the performance of SVM and PSO-SVM classification.  The analysis uses five kernels in mySVM library that existed in Rapidminer application namely dot, radial, polynomial, neural, and anova kernel. The training data used in the first model classification development is student interest data at ABC high school on 2013-2014 year academic.  The first model is evaluated using accuracy, precision, recall, and auc value test. The first result shows that the anova kernel on PSO-SVM is able to work with accuracy level 99.30% using penalty factor 0.1. The second model has been developed to predict student interest in XYZ high school. The second result shows that PSO-SVM with kernel anova is able to classify students interest with 99.29% accuracy level.  Keywords— Optimization, SVM, PSO-SVM, Student Interest.

Abstract

In this study, techniques for Data Hiding performed by combining the Rijndael algorithm and the Least Significant Bit (LSB). At first the sender encrypts the message and inserts the message into the image, and then decipher the hidden message back that can be read by the recipient. System testing is done by sending data from Rijndael encryption and Least Significant Bits to the various media sender. Results from the study indicate that the data is encrypted before and after have the same relative size, but changing the amount of image quality depends on the bit value of the quality of media and messages. The more difference bit value, the greater the changes.

Abstract

Splicing of optical fibers have two methods i.e fusion splicing and mechanical splicing. Fusion splicing method is chosen because this method is gives permanent fusion. Fusion splicing is the act of combining two optical fiber end-to-end using heat parallel electrodes. The goal is to combine the two fibers together such that light passing through the fiber scattered or reflected back. Merging optical fiber using this method to connect Fusion Splicing can be done using a tool arc fusion splicer. Arc fusion splicer is a tool that is used to connect the optical fiber using parallel electrode rod smelting technology for accurate light reflection perfect. This study is to build simulation about how to splicing optical fibers using fusion splicing.  Simulation program is chosen because of the price arc fusion splicer is very expensive ranging from millions rupiah in 2014, so this simulation media may be one visualization of the original tools of arc fusion splicer. The expected goal is to be able to know how to connect the fiber optic cable is good and right  fiber optic cable by using simulation based on Internatonal standards ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union).Keywords: Fiber Optic, Fusion Splicing, Mechanical Splicing, Arc Fusion Splicer

Abstract

Currently, the process of determining a scholarship at the Faculty of Information Technology Maranatha Christian University is still done manually. The existence of several types of scholarships offered, the number of defined criteria for each scholarship and the increasing number of students who enroll in order to receive the scholarship, causing the process of determining admission scholarship lasts longer and not objective. Based on the reasons above, this research is conduct  using  a decision support system that can provide recommendations to scholarship recipients. The assessment criteria of the applicants that much then used algorithms Fuzzy Multiple attribute Decision Making (Fuzzy MADM) with Simple Additive weighting method (SAW). The methodology used in the study consisted of three phases. The first stage is the preparation which includes the identification and formulation process of determining admission scholarship deploying along with the formulation of a decision support system requirements. At the second stage of implementation includes program development, testing, and implementation. Abstract

The purpose of this empirical study conducted to determine the factors influencing student academic performance in Perbanas Institute Jakarta. Multiple Discriminant Analysis and Regression Logistic as main statistical multivariate analysis method were used in this study. Results of the analysis will be determined that the Logistic Regression method is more accurate and superior as well as determine the factors that influence students' academic performance Perbanas Institute. Student Academic Performance in the case study students of Perbanas Institute, using the comparison between discriminant analysis method and regression logistic were influenced by factors duration of study, student motivation, student family environmental factors, and Quality of Learning, and E-Learning System. This comparative study reveals that the logistic regression method is much better and more accurate than the Discriminant Analysis method.

Abstract

University leaders have the responsibility to monitor all activities and make continuous measurements on the performance and quality of higher education which leads to ensure the achievement of the goals set. All this to get some of the information required, university leaders still have to do the data collection scattered beberpa information systems, either manually. Abstract

RFID and biometric time attendance have been used to taking employee’s attendances in attendances. But they have disadvantage which is cost a lot in terms of prices when need to be used in several places at the same time. An alternative solution was given by using android application which utilizing QR-Code, Face Recognition, and Google Map Location technologies implemented in smartphone to taking employee’s attendances. A test for this system was conduct on one of private colouring studios in Bandung, and from the results shown that using this android application help the employees to take attendances. This paper explains the architecture, design, research findings, and future improvements of attendance system.

Abstract

PT Telkomsel Regional Jawa Barat Network Service Tasikmalaya has a lot of inventory items with different serial number. These goods will be used by vendors in providing services to the public. Problems occurs when entering a serial number on each item because data collection is still manual. There is a problem upon return of goods to the center, that is known as the Return Merchandise Authorization or RMA abbreviated, when the Serial Number of the items in the RMA is often forgotten deactivated by the user, causing multiple input Serial Number. The purpose of this research is the ease of input Serial Number automatically generate by barcode includes reminder Serial Number features. In addition will be made also preparing reports on each of goods in accordance with the desired period.

Abstract

E-Commerce as an alternative mean of transaction along with the usage of smartphone as a tool to perform e-commerce transaction is gaining ground. This development could be seen from the emergence of numerous mobile payment applications.The usage of mobile devices to pay for goods, services, bills, or money transfer.Stores as a location for transaction are currently in a fierce completion to gain customers, on the other hand, there are issues for the customers, the customers often do not have adequate information, the distance to the store is too far, or not enough time to visit the store. Those are the reasons that drive the author to create an application to resolve the aforementioned issues.An application to list various types of online store in a mobile app.The stores registered in the app could provide information regarding the store location, products that the stores offered, ongoing promotion, and contact for shipment of information about the store’s products. The user as the customer could see the list of stores according to the type of store selected, could see the information that is provided by the store, and perform purchasing transaction on the selected store. Abstract

Thermal imaging camera and smartphone camera are the impacts of rapid technological development. This research uses two tools to take pictures of chicken eggs. Images of chicken eggs from the two tools are used to identify of size, determination of object and analysis of image cropping from the samples have used. Process analysis using Matlab prototype for image processing began with histogram, converting the image to grayscale or black white, then the process is carried region props, centroid and the bounding box and labeling. The process of identification egg objects with region props and labeling can be successfully performed with a 100 % success rate. Images of each sample were conducted to provide data that the cropping process gives the area to the smaller / less identifiable objects provide little value and uniform for any number of the same object. The identification process on the image of the chicken egg thermal cameras and smartphone cameras give equal areas. However, each data cropping of the process is done, the image from the thermal cameras and smartphone cameras give different values. So the cropping process provides the difference in the identification process of chicken eggs. The difference of the image processing of thermal cameras and smartphone cameras lies in the preprocessing of images of thermal cameras needed to complement and process images from the camera smartphone needs to process with the opening before to do the region props and labeling process getting the object is identified.
