Jurnal Sendratasik diterbitkan 4 (empat) kali pada bulan S Maret, Juni, September, dan December denganmemuat artikel / artikel penelitian di bidang musik, tari, dan drama serta pembelajarannya. Memuat teks yang dihasilkan oleh kelompok penyunting, naskah yang digunakan adalah naskah yang lolos dan tidak pernah / tidak akan pindah ke jurnal lain. Jurnal Sendratasik menerima naskah yang memberikan wawasan tentang isu-isu terkini, dan terutama berhubungan dengan studi Seni Pertunjukan dan Pembelajarannya(Seni Drama, Tari dan Musik) dengan menyebar luaskan pengetahuan di bidang-bidang yang muncul dan berkembang. Hasil riset, terdiri dari laporan ilmiah yang meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang seni secara umum, seni pertunjukan, dan pendidikan seni. Baik dalam bentuk artikel yang melaporkan hasil studi penelitian kuantitatif atau kualitatif. Artikel secara konseptual harus relevan untuk memajukan Seni Pertunjukan dan Pembelajarannya, menyajikan teori tentang seni, model, posisi filosofis, dll. Artikel juga dapat mengacu pada teori-teori ataupun materi- materi yang dikembangkan dalam praktik dan pendidikan seni pertunjukan. Bahasa naskah yang dikirimkan dalam bahasa Indonesia. Harus membahas tentang masalah serta kontribusi baru yang signifikan untuk bidang praktik dan pendidikan seni pertunjukan. Artikel dapat berasal dari salah satu bidang berikut: - Drama - Tari - Musik dan / atau Musik Tradisional - dan Pembelajarannya

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the emphasizing is on pulses understanding in the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation teaching material. The type of this research is a qualitative paradigm with a content analysis approach. The object of this research was the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation book, and the research subject was pulse suppression contained in the drum practice material. The research instrument was the author itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, laptop, and mobile phone. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The data types were primary and secondary data. The data were analyzed through practicing, analyzing, eliciting findings, describing findings, and making conclusion. The results show that the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation book is a teaching material intended for students / drummers at the beginner stage (beginner) in the 10th & 9th grade. Therefore, Yamaha provides systematic learning and focuses on pulses as a reference for learning, so pulses are considered crucial. This study reveals the pulses implicitly stated in the Drums 1 Yamaha Music Foundation book where pulses are implemented in 3 forms of practice patterns which are mutually applied. The quarter pulses applied to stick control is a main foundation to orchestrate the pulses in the from of not subdivision, not variation, rhythm pattern, and the drum fill-in. The difference is on where the focus is located. So the research definitively has proven that there is emphasizing of pulses which are presented in various forms of practice patterns.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of question item of the Odd Mid-term Examination for Art and Culture subject in grade 7 of SMPN 5 Padang in Academic Year 2019/2020 in terms of validity, reliability, difficulty level, discriminating power and effectiveness of deceivers. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The subjects in this study were all students (254 students) in grade 7. The object in this study was the question items of mid-term Exam, key answers, and participants' answers. The data were collected through documentation and interview. The data analysis was conducted by using the ANATES program version 4.0.9. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Based on validity, there are 45 valid questions (90%) and 5 invalid questions (10%). (2) Based on reliability, the items have high reliability which is 0.78. (3) Based on the level of difficulty, there are 6 difficult items (12%), 31 medium items (62%), and 13 easy items (26%). (4) Based on discriminating power, there is 1 question categorized as  a bad item (2%),  10 question categorized as pretty good items (20%), 23 question categorized as good items (46%), and 16 question categorized as very good items (32%). (5) Based on the effectiveness of the deception/distractor, there are 28 items functioning very well (36%), 17 items functioning well (34%), 4 items functioning quite well (8%), and 1 item functioning poorly (2% ). (6) Based on the quality of the questions, there are 27 items which are good in quality (54%), 15 items which are less good (30%), and 8 items which are not good (16%).

Abstract

Starting from the problem of music learning which has been developed by the use of the internet and YouTube at SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh, the researcher conducted a research with the aim to explain that the use of Youtube videos can improve the learning outcomes of students in XI MIPA-2 of SMA Negeri 3 Payakumbuh.The theory used in this research includes learning and instruction, internet based instruction, instruction done through YouTube videos, use of lecture and presentation methods in instruction, and learning outcomes theory. This is a quantitative research with a true-experiment-design approach. The study population was all students of grade XI, and the sample was class XI MIPA-2 (as the experimental class) and XI MIPA-3 (as the control class). The results of observation, interview, and literature study were used as the research instruments. The results statistically prove that the hypothesis test for H1 is accepted while the null hypothesis H0 is rejected. The data, which can be explained qualitatively, show that YouTube video integrated with the Powerpoint shows used by the researcher in providing music instruction through lecture and presentation is easier to understand.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of the Pantang Mundur song created by Titiek Puspa. It is related to the rhythm, melody, harmony, form, expression, and the relationship between the lyrics and melody. This research is a qualitative research. It uses a content analysis approach which is systematic, objectivity, and generalization. The research data were collected from library study activities and laboratory work. Based on the research, this song has a rhythmic basic motif which then undergoes development. The tone interval is dominated by Second Major (M2), and Prime Perfect (P1). In general, there are 10 motives found in the song. They are k, k1, lm, n, n1, n2, o, p, and q derived from 5 antecedent phrases namely A (3 times repetition), X, B and 3 consequent phrases X (2 times repetition), and Y. This song also consists of three forms, namely the forms A, A 'and B. The relationship between melody and lyrics in this song is predominantly syllabic even though there are several neural bars. This song is also categorized as Logogenic (prioritizing the text) which has two kadens: The Perfect Authentic Cadence and The Authentic Half Cadence. If the meaning contained in the lyrics of the song Pantang Mundur is associated with the melody journey of the song which is arranged in a step - step - jump - step - step - step - jump – etc, it gives the meaning that this song is a contemplation of a willingness, sincerity of soul, and the magnanimity of a wife to accept the departure of her husband who fought on the battlefield. In addition, some parts of the song are also composed of melodic character formulations which mean rigidity as well as melodies which leap to high intervals. This significantly means that it sparks the spirit of the warriors to achieve state majesty

Abstract

This study aims to describe or find out the inheritance of the Krilu musical instrument in Sanggar Ratau Agung in Tunggang Village, Lebong Utara District, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. This research is a qualitative research. The research instrument was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, voice recorder, and camera. The type of data in this study was primary and secondary data. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by collecting data, classifying data analysis, and making conclusions and suggestions. The results show that the inheritance of Krilu in Sanggar Ratau Agung in Tunggang Village, Lebong Utara District, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province uses an open and enculturation system. This inheritance system does not use a closed one due to the fact that there is no family from Krilu artists that can inherit the Krilu art. The open inheritance system carried out by artists is by teaching individual studio members who are interested and want to learn Krilu musical instruments. Meanwhile, the closed system is not found in the inheritance system. The Krilu musical instrument is played when the official speech is given in the welcoming dance, and inheritance.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The data collection started from data existing in the field - from the results of observations, interviews, field notes, and study documentation. Then, the data were analyzed by using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research is based on Alan P. Merriam's (1964: 219-226) theory about 10 musical functions.The results of this study indicate that Kompangan Art is used in various traditional events.  It firstly used in a wedding party. Along with the development of time, Kompangan Art is also used in child shaving and circumcision events as an entertainment for the guests who come to the event. The art of Kompangan music plays an important role for the community, especially in marriage parties. It is due to the fact that it is played as the groom's pageant music. From these uses, the reactions that occur in community activities can be seen. It relates to the function through the feelings that humans feel when they see and hear the art. The functions found are the function of (1) emotional expression; (2) Entertainment; (3) Communication; and (4) the continuity of cultural norms.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the activities of Culture and Arts (music) teachers in grade VII of SMP Negeri 3 Harau District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency in implementing music instruction using the Basic Guitar Chords 3D application for learning guitar at school. The use of this guitar playing application provides an opportunity for students to learn guitar playing virtually with a different learning atmosphere from how guitar learning was theoretically and practically conducted before. This study uses references to results from relevant research and several theoretical studies especially those related to learning and instruction, learning methods, guitar learning through application, and Culture and Arts (music) instruction in junior high school. This is a qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. The object of research was teachers’ activities in implementing music instruction in grade VII of SMP Negeri 3 Harau. The learning observed involves learning guitar under the topic of playing a string instrument in a musical ensemble. The research instruments used were observation notes, interview notes, and document studies. The results of the study explain that learning guitar using the Basic Guitar Chords 3D application can create new experiences for students in learning music using the android application. However, due to the fact that the use of this application coincides with learning musical ensembles under the Basic Competence of playing simple music, this application conceptually does not support learning musical ensembles by using actual musical instruments. However, the teachers’ thought to explain that playing music can be done through application surely gives a point, and it can be developed by the teachers in learning music at school.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the form of a Kasidah Rebana presentation in a wedding party in Jorong SarohaTamiang, Lembah Melintang District, West Pasaman Regency. This research is a qualitative research which focuseson getting issues related to the topic. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. The development of sophisticated era and the cultures and arts developed in community give positive and negative effects. However, the art of Kasidah Rebana in the Jorong Saroha Tamiang still exists and is the choice of the community to be presented in a wedding party. The presentation form of Kasidah Rebana in the wedding party now has undergone many changes towards a more modern direction in accordance with the times. This can be seen from the sound system and formations, which neatly arranged by the group on stage, provided by the committee. Based on the composition, the rhythm pattern played is in accordance to the rhythmic musical instrument as well as the keyboard melody combined with chord harmonization and sound distribution. The vocalist sings the song according to the structure of the song's form and the expression according to the song's verse. These are combined to produce a beautiful tambourine blend. Based on the results of the study, to be more creative is an advice the author gives to the group. Song references, music compositions and costumes can be differently arranged, for instance. Thus, it is more interesting and more demanded by the community. The form of a Kasidah Rebana presentation is a mixed ensemble played by 12 players consisting of two vocalists, two tambourine players, two rhythm players, two bass players, three ketipung players, and one keyboard player.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether choir extracurricular activities affect student learning outcomes. This research is a quantitative research with correlation method. Theories used are about extracurricular, choir, learning and instruction, learning outcomes, andCulture and Arts.The data supporting this study sourced from primary data and secondary data. The results show that there is a significant relationship between extracurricular activities and the learning outcomesof singing folk songs. Based on the calculation of simple correlation test, it shows that r count> r table (0.853> 0.831). Thus, it can be concluded that the relationship is positive and can be continued with a significant test. Significant test is sought by using the t test. The resultgot istcount>ttable (7.004> 1.907). This value gives a conclusion that there is a positive and significant relationship between the choir extracurricular activities (X) on the learning outcomes of arts and culture (Y) at SMP N 10 Padang.

Abstract

This study aims at finding out the correlation between learning outcomes in music theory subject and percussion instrument practice subject in the Department of Drama, Dnace and Music Arts. This quantitative research used a correlational method involving two variables, i.e. the learning outcomes of music theory subject and the learning outcomes percussion instrument practice subject. The population in this study was the students of Department of Drama, Dance and Music Arts, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Padang whi took Music Theory subject in the even semester of 2017-18 academic calendar. Meanwhile, the sample in this study was the students of the Department of Drama, Dance and Music Arts who took the Percussion Instrument Practice subject in the even semester of 2018-19 academic calendar. The data of this study were documentation of the students’ learning outcomes in music theory and percussion instrument practice subjects which were processed using the Pearson product moment correlation test method. The results of data analysis showed that the value of the correlation test was 0.1013 or 10.13%. This coefficient value was based on the interpretation of the coefficient values in the range 0.00 – 0.19, indicating that the level of correlation between music theory subject and percussion instrument subject was very weak. Using a significance test with an error level of 5%, the results of the hypothesis testing showed that rcount ˂ rtable, indicating that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. This means that there is a correlation between the learning outcomes of music theory subject in its application to the practice of percussion instrument, but in a very weak level.
