Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine student perceptions of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy, which intends to create a superior generation with a high level of creativity, inovative ideas, and ready to learn under any conditions. The MBKM policy provides opportunities and freedom for students to choose programs and activities to gain knowledge and a different academic atmosphere, to enrich their knowledge and skills. This research is descriptive quantitative in nature. The respondents in this study were 257 active students of the Unikom Accounting Study Program. The results showed that most students had a good and positive understanding of MBKM policy and the benefit in the forms of improved hard and soft skills, regardless of the challenges. For future advancement, the university needs to continuously socialize and facilitate the University's MBKM policy implementation. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji persepsi mahasiswa atas kegiatan Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) untuk menciptakan generasi unggul dengan kreativitas, ide, inovasi dan siap belajar hal baru. Kebijakan MBKM ini memberikan peluang kepada mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan potensi diri, memilih lingkungan kampus untuk menimba ilmu sehingga untuk menemukan atmosfer akademik yang berbeda untuk memperkaya pengetahuan dan skills. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 257 mahasiswa aktif Program Studi Akuntansi Unikom. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa telah memahami kebijakan dan program MBKM serta manfaatnya dalam memberikan tantangan dan kesempatan bagi mahasiswa untuk pengembangan inovasi, kreativitas, kapasitas, kepribadian, serta terbentuknya hard skills dan soft skills mahasiswa. Untuk pelaksanaan ke depan universitas secara berkesinambungan perlu melakukan sosialisasi dan fasilitasi MBKM dengan lebih intens.

Abstract

Student satisfaction during online learning needs to be considered because it is a positive response and a benchmark for the success of learning. This study was conducted to examine the level of student satisfaction with online chemistry learning during the pandemic. The method used is survey using quantitative approach. The population in this study was students of 11th grade IPA SMA Negeri 2 Bantul. The research sample consisted of 88 students of science class, selected using simple random sampling technique.. The data collection was carried out using a Student Satisfaction Level Questionnaire consisting of 25 statements with a rating scale 1-5, covering 4 aspects, namely facilities and infrastructure for the implementation of online learning, teacher innovation in learning design, discussion activities in the online learning process and service to students. The results showed a high level of overall satisfaction with online chemistry learning and there was no significant difference in satisfaction between male and female students. Kepuasan siswa selama pembelajaran daring perlu diperhatikan karena merupakan respon positif dan menjadi tolok ukur keberhasilan suatu pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji tingkat kepuasan siswa terhadap pembelajaran kimia secara daring pada materi termokimia selama pandemi. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 2 Bantul. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 88 siswa yang secara acak sederhana. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan Angket Tingkat Kepuasan Siswa yang terdiri dari dua puluh lima pernyataan dengan penilaian skala 1—5, yang mencakup empat aspek yaitu sarana dan prasarana pendukung pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring, inovasi guru dalam mendesain pembelajaran, aktivitas diskusi dalam proses pembelajaran daring dan pelayanan kepada siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi terhadap pembelajaran kimia secara daring dan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan kepuasan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors of job readiness in the culinary field. This research is a quantitative research. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and documentation. The validity of the items was tested with the product moment correlation, the results obtained were 19 valid items and 3 items failed. The results of the reliability test obtained the value of Alpha = 0.951. Data analysis techniques in this study are the mean, median, mode, and standard deviation. The results showed that the factors of job readiness in the culinary field in Vocational High School students were in the sufficient category with a relative frequency of 60.32%. The variables of job readiness factors in the culinary field have two indicators, namely internal factors and external factors. (1) Internal factors are in sufficient category with a relative frequency of 66.67% and (2) external factors are in sufficient category with a relative frequency of 52.38%. It can be concluded that the internal and external factors of work readiness in the culinary field are quite sufficient. Students are expected to be more active and confident in learning theory and practice.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic, which has disrupted the order of life in the world of education, is still ongoing; various efforts are being made to end the pandemic period as soon as possible. Even in the midst of a pandemic, the world of education must be given special attention in order to avoid being negatively impacted. The opportunity to advance the world of education through online learning is a solution to meet educational standards through the use of information technology so that students and teachers are interconnected and the teaching and learning process can still be carried out properly through the use of technology. The method used in this study is qualitative, with approach content analysis and descriptive presentation. As a source of research data, the author examines documents in the form of text, news, journals, and newspapers. Although the pandemic had many negative consequences, it had a positive impact on the world of education. This positive impact can inspire the community to persevere in the face of adversity in order to achieve more advanced educational goals. Among the many positive effects of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, one has the greatest impact on the world of education: it accelerates educational transformation.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to explore the attitude toward Online Teacher Education Courses (OTECs). To that end, this study was carried out over the teacher educators and trainee teachers of Bangladesh Open University. Here, teacher educators represent the faculty members of the School of Education (SoE) of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), and trainee teachers represent the Master of Education (M.Ed.) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) students of BOU. A mixed research approach with triangulation was used to conduct the study with a descriptive survey, two Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and one key personnel interview. Data were collected from a total of 602 teacher trainees (182 were M.Ed. students and 420 were B.Ed. students) and 12 teacher educators, selected through multiple sampling techniques. The  data revealed that the teacher educators and trainee teachers had a positive attitude towards online courses since the mean score of faculty members, M.Ed., and B.Ed. students of BOU were 3.60, 381, and 3.81, respectively. Considering all these aspects, this study suggested that SoE/BOU needs to decide rationally to shape its future Online Teacher Education Courses (OTECs). This research contributes to the basement of new knowledge through an explorative study with all the possible stakeholders covering the whole country of interest.

Abstract

The results of the observations show that there are no teaching materials in the form of e-modules used by mathematics teachers in junior high schools. Based on the problem and research objectives, this type of research is quasi-experimental. This research was conducted in two groups, namely the learning experiment class using e-modules with a CTL approach and the control class using conventional learning. The population in this study were all seventh-grade students at Blue Junior High School for the 2020/2021 academic year which consisted of 2 classes. To obtain the sample class, namely the experimental and control classes, a random sampling technique was used. VII B was the experimental class, and class VII A was chosen as the control class. The instrument used is a test consisting of 5 questions about conceptual understanding test. Data analysis using the t-test. From the students' responses to the e-module, the criteria were "very interesting" with a percentage of 90.6%. The calculation results obtained is 2.704 with a significance level of 0.009. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, Ho is rejected, this means that there is a significant effect on the use of e-module teaching materials with a CTL approach to improving students' conceptual understanding abilities.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic students had to learn at home. In this mode of learning students experienced difficulties in understanding the learning material which impacted on student assignments completion. This condition requires parental involvement in solving the problem. Parental background has effects on the quality of student mentoring. This study aims to determine the impact of parenting self-efficacy, parental involvement in online learning, and parental education level on student learning outcomes. The population of this study was all parents (mothers) of active students enrolled in the school. This research uses ex post facto research. The Measurement of variabels using a Likert Scale with multiple regression analysis. The results show that the variabel that has the most influence on student learning outcomes is the level of parental education which contributes 68.3%, followed by the variabel of parental involvement of 22.5% and the variabel of parenting self-efficacy of 9.2%.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to reveal the challenges faced in online learning using a website model through Youtube. This is because during distance learning from home, students at the MI / SD level do a lot of online learning so that efforts are needed to make policies or solutions that can solve the challenges that occur. Qualitative is chosen as the approach that the researcher applies, while the method used is descriptive. The data collection technique used is by conducting interviews with class IV teachers and grade IV students of SD IT Baitul Muslim Way Jepara. The results of the study found that the challenges of learning the website model through Youtube were felt, namely: 1) Unstable internet network quality, 2) prices and quota usage, 3) infrastructure facilities were not supportive, 4) power outages that interfered with the quality of the internet network, 5) Difficulty of monitoring during the learning process. Some solutions that may be able to reduce these challenges are internet quota subsidies to educators and students by working with the provider, Youtube is used to deliver material only, for assignments it can be through Whatsapp or Google Classroom only, and the last solution if you don't want there to be challenges as explained, it is better to apply PTMT (limited face-to-face meetings). Abstrak: Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini ialah untuk mengungkapkan tantangan-tantangan yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran online menggunakan model website melalui youtube. Hal ini dikarenakan selama pembelajaran jarak jauh dari rumah, peserta didik dalam jenjang MI/SD banyak melakukan pembelajaran secara daring sehingga butuh upaya pengambilan kebijakan atau solusi yang bisa menyelesaikan tantangan yang terjadi. Kualitatif dipilih sebagai pendekatan yang peneliti terapkan, sedangkan metode yang diguanakan ialah deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan melakukan wawancara pada guru kelas IV dan murid kelas IV SD IT Baitul Muslim Way Jepara. Hasil dari penelitian didapatkan bahwa tantangan pembelajaran model website melalui youtube yang dirasakan yaitu: 1) Kualitas jaringan internet yang tidak stabil, 2) harga dan penggunaan kuota, 3) fasilitas sarana prasaran kurang mendukung, 4) pemadaman listrik yang mengganggu kualitas jaringan internet, 5) Sulitnya pemantaun saat proses pembelajaran dilakukan. Beberapa solusi yang mungkin bisa mengurangi tantangan tersebut ialah subsidi kuota internet ke pendidik dan peserta didik dengan cara bekerja sama dengan pihak provider, youtube digunakan untuk menyampaikan materi saja, untuk penugasan bisa melalui Whatsapp atau Google Classroom saja, dan solusi yang terakhir jika tidak ingin ada tantangan-tantangan seperti halnya yang sudah dijelaskan maka lebih baik terapkan PTMT (pertemuan tatap muka terbatas).

Abstract

Information technology has brought us a great deal of technological advancement, opening up endless possibilities for distance education. E-Learning platforms make it possible to connect people around the globe. Using the various technologies that are available, Gamification enhances the performance of e-learning platforms. Gamification of e-learning platforms helps in providing an engaging learning experience for users of all ages. Applying gamification in a non-gaming environment motivates students and also keeps them engaged in learning. This paper summarizes various game elements such as points, leader boards, badges, provided to the users for better e-learning experience by gamifying the environment and discussing the impact of gamification.

Abstract

Mastering vocabulary could be one of the keys to be successful in learning English. Teaching by using a certain game could be an interesting way to increase students’ vocabulary. The aim of this study is to create a scrabble wall to help students improve their vocabulary. This study employed the research and development method, as well as the ADDIE Model's theory, which is divided into five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Interviews, exams, and expert validation checklists were used as study instruments. This study used 25 students as a sample of product implementation among eleventh-grade students of SMA Putra Juang Cianjur. Data were gathered from student interviews, test results (Pre-test and Post-test), teacher replies, and expert validation results. The data analysis revealed that the product was both good and valid. The scrabble wall can be used as a means to teach English, particularly vocabulary. The scrabble wall is helpful for students as well. It may be concluded that the use of scrabble wall can enhance students’ vocabulary mastery.
