Abstract

Arabic learning can take place at various ages of either children, adolescents or adults. Learning Arabic is something needed for especially Muslim because it is important in Muslim life. This paper will explain about the Arabic learning strategy for children. This is important to discuss because children need special strategies in learning for their ages. In collecting information, the writer uses library research method, which is done by comparing several literary sources, especially those that are the main source of discussion to discuss about the existing problems. Then, as the result, language learning is a help to determine how, and how well, learners learn a foreign language. There are many variations on learning strategy. Arabic learning strategies for children include playing, singing, telling stories, projects, demonstration, and conversation. By using the suitable and fun strategy, children can develop their potential well and effectively. The selection of learning strategies depends on children’s ages and characteristics.

Abstract

The background of this research is the poor condition of young generations from the values of character and culture. School as an educational institution has the responsibility to establish and develop the character of students. This paper aims to determine the role of learning Arabic in character education, character education applications in learning the Arabic language and what the values can be internalized in the Arabic language learning.

Abstract

One of the most difficult things in learning Arabic language is understanding the structure of the text. It may caused by the complication of its structure and also the complex meaning of each word. Consequently, knowing the meaning of a word is very important in understanding an Arabic language text. Therefore, there is a branch of Arabic language which specifically discusses about meaning, called semantics. One of the discussions is about the field of meaning such as synonym, antonym, polysemy, etc. They have important role in understanding sentence structure of a text. Therefore, learning semantics is an obligation for those who want to be able to understand Arabic language text well.

Abstract

Arabic learning-like learning of other disciplines-requires technology as a systemic effort in designing, developing, implementing and evaluating the whole learning process. Through the application of tekonologi in learning Arabic is expected to be able to answer most of the problems experienced by teachers and students in learning Arabic, because technological learning techniques can help teachers in delivering materials and learners can also absorb the Arabic learning materials to the fullest. This paper is conceptual thinking using a descriptive-analysis method. The conclusion of this study is the application of technology in learning Arabic is an attempt to overcome the problematics of learning Arabic language. Because learning technology mengguanakan some principles, namely systemic approach (al madkhal al nizhamiy), student-oriented, and the use of learning resources to the fullest.

Abstract

Department of Arabic Education UIN Sunan Kalijaga has not set a policy on the obligation to write thesis in Arabic. Therefore, there are students who prefer to write their thesis in Indonesian. The article aims to find out the factors that cause students to prefer to write their thesis in Indonesian, the absence of policy writing thesis with Arabic and formulate a set of policy to upgrade the quality of graduate students by improving their paper. This is qualitative descriptive research in field research method. The data collection method gathered from questionare and interview. The data source were collected from the students who are still completing and had finished their undergraduste paper, and also the leader of Arabic Education Department as the stakeholder.The result shows eight factors that cause the students prefer to compose their undergraduate papers in Indonesian language. The are also four reasons to consider that it is not compulsory for the students to write the undergraduate paper in Arabic language. More over, there are three sets of policy about composing undergraduate paper to improve the quality of the graduate students the last is the steps of the realization of each activities

Abstract

The study attempts at discussing the quality management with the Quality Management System (SMM) ISO 9001:2015 applied in the Arabic Language Education. The discussion was focused on elaborating seven principles of SMM ISO 9001: 2015, containing customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, continuous improvement, evidence-based decision making and management relationship. The quality management is expected to assist the Arabic language education to create quality, process and graduates who are well-prepared to compete both in the national and international levels. As a part of the process, the SMM ISO 9001:2015-based quality management elucidates a comprehensive guidance for the Arabic Language Education departments to continuously improve their system to fulfil the customer and the user satisfaction. Seen from the result, SMM ISO 9001:2015 can assist the educational institutions to produce graduates who are productive, capable and competitive in the national as well as global levels.

Abstract

The study about Qur’an and its influence on Arabic language shows the importance of language study. The aim of this research is to find out the historical study of the influence of Qur’an on Arabic language which focuses on the basics, function, and characteristics of language. The article result shows that (1) the basics of language is speaking which express or understand social, cultural, psychological and mental problems. (2) Arabic language has its own characteristics such as the uniqueness in its sound, isytiqoq, I’rab, synonym, and simplicity. (3) Qur’an makes Arabic language well-preserved, stronger, and stable. In addition, it also makes Arabic language become international language and academic language which consequently brings out Arabic education program and Arabic language development.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the need of culture-based Arabic reading materials by using multimedia. It used research and development approach proposed by Borg and Gall. This study was started by collecting some information through literaturereview, observation, documentation, and interview of 10 students of Arabic Language department students of UNJ. The result of this study showed that there are some aspects of Arabic reading materials for students in higher educationthat should be developed. First, the learning theme. Some of the learning themes that should be discussed are: 1) campus life, 2) academic activities, 3)students achievement, etc. Second, the aspect of multimedia. In this case, the learning material is needed to be designed by using multimedia completed with list of vocabulary, lesson summary, and some explanation in the form of audio and video. Third, the aspect of culture. The perspective of Indonesian culture is really necessary to be included in the Arabic reading materials for students. Abstract

Becoming a professional Arabic teacher needs knowledge, skills, accuracy, strategy, and perseverance. Besides that, a professional teacher of Arabic also needs interesting methods in the teaching and learning process. There are so many teaching methods used in the foreign language teaching and learning. However, some of them are not appropriate to be used. Each of them has strengths and weaknesses, so it is better for a foreign language teacher, especially Arabic teacher not to rely on one method only, but he should choose and determine the appropriate methods which is relevant with the learning material in order to create fun learning process.
