Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan usaha sadar dan sistematis untuk membentuk karakter peserta didik. Melalui teks sastra dalam bentuk novel, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia tidak hanya berpusat untuk mencerdaskan peserta didik namun juga bertujuan membentuk karakter peserta didik. Nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel dapat digunakan sebagai penanaman karakter pada peserta didik, mengingat bahwa karakter peserta didik saat ini sudah jauh dari moral dan etika. Untuk itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguraikan pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam novel Cinta 2 Kodi karya Asma Nadia. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan model deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini mengunakan teknik catat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan setelah selesai membaca novel. Peneliti menandai kutipan yang termasuk dalam pendidikan karakter kemudian melakukan pencatatan. Dari penelitian ini, ditemukan 14 poin nilai karakter dalam novel Cinta 2 Kodi yang dapat digunakan guru sebagai rujukan media pembelajaran bagi pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia.Kata kunci: Pendidikan Karakter, Novel, Pembelajaran.

Abstract

Makalah ini mengkaji isu masokhisme dalam novel Venus in Fur karya Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. Masokhisme merupakan sebuah gejala kejiwaan. Masokisme seksual melibatkan dorongan kuat yang terus menerus dan fantasi yang terkait dengan tindakan seksual yang melibatkan perasaan dipermalukan, diikat, dicambuk, atau dibuat menderita dalam bentuk lainnya. Penilitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam pembahasannya, diuraikan tentang masokhisme seksual Severin, tokoh utama dalam novel, sebagai manifestasi insting seksualnya. Akan dijelaskan tentang bagaimana masa kanak-kanak Severin menjadikannya sebagai seorang masokhis dan karakteristik masokhisme seksual dalam diri Severin.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out and to describe (1) is the romantic ideology dominant in the works of the non- tradition of Balai Pustaka, (2) works of 1970-period, and (3) works of 2000 period. These questions arisen based on the real fact that the romantic ideology influenced the series of the history of Indonesian Literature, further more before modern Indonesian literature arisen, since 9-14 century in the old Javanese. This ideology is also find out in 19 century and in the works of Balai Pustaka tradition in 1920-1945.The data were taken by using random sampling. The structural-semiotics method and dialected method used to analize the data. The results of this research: (1) the works non Bapalai Pustaka tradition mainly in 1920 is dominated of realism ideology. (2) in popular literature (1970) is found out that romantics ideology is pseudo romanticism. The works in 1970, mainly the popular literature is as if as romanticism although pseudo-romanticism. Recently, the romantic ideology is played, distorted, re-bulit by using a ?pseudo-romaticism? word.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tulisan ini membahas emansipasi gender dalam novel Middlesex karya Jeffrey Eugenides.Adapun tujuannya ialah untuk: (1) mengetahui struktur cerita novel, (2) mengetahui bagaimana spektrum gender berkembang dalam novel ini, (3) mengetahui bagaimana dan mengapa emansipasi gender direpresentasikan dalam novel ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan merujuk kepada teori queer, yang muncul dari feminisme, yang digagas oleh Judith Butler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel ini ditulis menggunakan sudut pandang orang pertama, plot episodikal beralur maju mundur, latar simbolik terintegrasi, dan tone depresi yang berubah menjadi riang. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa spektrum gender berkembang melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu belum berkembang, berkembang, dan matang. Selain itu, novel ini juga menunjukkan bahwa untuk mengurangi diskriminasi, gender harus dipisahkan dari jenis kelamin. Hal itu karena gender tidak muncul secara alamiah seperti jenis kelamin. Gender adalah generalisasi dari performa individu. Kata kunci: gender biner; diskriminasi; genderqueer; kebebasan. ABSTRACT This study is about gender emancipation in a novel entitled Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. The objectives of the study are, (1) to find out how the element of the novel is developed, (2) to find out how the spectrum of gender in this novel is developed, (3) to find out how gender emancipation presented in this novel. The analysis is done based on queer theory, which is derived from feminism from Judith Butler. The result shows that Middlesex is written by using the first person point of view named Call Stephanides, episodical plot with mixed order, simbolic integrated settings, and varieties of tones such as depressions and joy. The result shows that gender spectrum development is divided into three stages, which are being undeveloped, developed, and advanced. This novel also suggests that in order to decrease discrimination, gender must be separated from sex. Gender does not come naturally as sex but it is developed from perfomance. Abstract

This study attempted to reveal cultural identity shifts in the Putu Wijaya?s play script Bila Malam Bertambah Malam (BMBM) observed from Jean Francois Lyotard?s postmodernism point of view. This study employed sociology in literature approach to analyze the cultural identity of the characters in the BMBM play script, next it would be connected with any symptoms of the Jean Francis Lyotard postmodernism. The results of the study proved that there were cultural identity shifts in the BMBM play script in term of postmodernism point of views including the liberation, reformation, and identity deception and falsify (as an impression formation). The character of Gusti Biang possessed arrogant characteristics to her lowest class assistant (Wayan) in fact the assistant was the biological father of her son. She despised his assistants (Wayan and Nyoman), and opposed to the his son?s (Ngurah) romance with Nyoman. The identity deception as the impression formation appeared in Gusti Biang?s arrogant attitude, she kept glorifying her upper class status (satria) and insulting lowest class status (sudra) although Wayan was the person she loved after the death of her impotent husband. The symptoms of liberation and reformation in term of social class was captured in loyal servant character, Wayan. He devoted himself to his love, Gusti Biang, although the old tradition prohibited him to marry Gusti Biang. Later, both Ngurah and Nyoman dared themselves to break the tradition of inter-class romance.Keywords: cultural identity; social class; postmodernism; sociology in literature; interclass romance;

Abstract

This paper is based on the readings of typical male issues raised in novel Balada Si Roy: Joe as a reflection and representation of masculine narratives. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the reflection of gender stereotypes, especially masculine, and the spread of masculinity discourse. This paper use sociological approach, focusing on the use of theories of gender stereotypes (good or bad man) and masculinity (how to be a man). The results obtained that the author offers a coherence of male image through his work, to provide fantasies for the process of gender actualization. In other words, the author is a representation of a socio-cultural-socialization- of how to become a man. It is reflected by Roy's character as a good man icon, because it reflects how to be man. Thus, the novel BSR:J is an agent that reproduces the masculine image in order to preserve and spread dominant groups narratives, in this case patriarchal.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to obtain the character and characterization of the main characters in the novels of the villains and their silence by Eko Triono. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data comes from the novels of the villains and their silence by Eko Triono. The data collection technique used is to read literary works in the form of novels of the villains and their silence and mark the descriptions that are in accordance with the context under study. The results and discussion about the character of hard work in accordance with the novel and its characterization. The study of the novels of the Criminals and the Silence of Each of these uses a Psychological Study that leads to the human nature. Results and discussion contain motivating, economic factors, and national development issues that require leaders to do hard work. The hard work character is shown by the author through characterization in the form of indirect characterization and direct characterization.?Keyword: Literary, Character, Characterization

Abstract

In the Palace of Yogyakarta there are several manuscripts that became heritage, one of them is Serat Bratayuda. The text in the manuscript is known as derivative of Serat Bratayuda by Yasadipura I. Thus, the text is derived from Kakawin Bh?ratayuddha by Mpu Sedah and Mpu Panuluh. Through comparative methods that compare images with text, it can be seen that there are images that different from the text. The difference is caused by several factors, such as, the story of puppetry, the facts of life the community, and the creativity of the illustrator.

Abstract

Secara kesejarahan poligami?sudah mengakar dalam kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia mulai dari budaya priyayi hingga kalangan masyarakat Islam. Tulisan ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan poligami dalam tiga cerita pendek Indonesia dan mengungkap ideologi yang berada di baliknya. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode analisis teks, dengan objek material tiga cerita pendek dan objek formal poligami dalam cerpen Indonesia. Pendekatan yang dipergunakan adalah sosiologi sastra.? Penyebab poligami adalah pemenuhan hasrat seksual, kebanggaan atau kehormatan, dan menjalankan anjuran istri dengan berdasarkan syariat agama. Poligami mengakibatkan, antara lain perceraian atau keretakan dalam kehidupan rumah tangga. Berdasarkan ending cerita, pengarang laki-laki menyetujui poligami dan pengarang perempuan menolak poligami. Dengan menyetujui poligami berarti teks masih melanjutkan ideologi patriarkhi.Kata kunci: ideologi, patriarkhi, agama, seksual

Abstract

Babad Demak berisi tidak hanya sejarah, legenda serta mitos tetapi juga wejangan para tokoh pelakunya kepada objek yang dituju. Salah tokoh yang memberi wejangan itu adalah Sunan Kalijaga. Sementara yang menjadi objeknya adalah Pandanarang, seorang bupati Semarang pada saat itu. Penulis tidak hanya menghadirkan teks wejangannya saja, tetapi juga menganalisisnya dengan analisis naratif. Hal ini bertujuan untuk membantu pemahaman pembaca tentang wejangan Sunan Kalijaga kepada Pandanarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wejangan Sunan Kalijaga kepada bupati Semarang (Pandanarang) sangat membekas. Kehidupan sebelumnya yang jauh dari nilai-nilai Islam kemudian menjadi muslim yang taat.
