<![CDATA[The development of communication technology makes such a big change in the order of human life. Its development has succeeded in making everyone attached to media activities in their daily lives. The purpose of this study is to find out about the motivation and benefits of using instagram social media among young people today as millennial generation in their daily lives. The young people in question are no exception to the Nusa Tenggara Timur Catholic Youth. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews with informants who are the subjects of this study. The results of the study show that Instagram social media makes a very significant contribution to social media users or activists, especially Nusa Tenggara Timur Catholic Youth. As social media activists, the Catholic Youth found many positive benefits such as; looking for information, expanding relationships, entertainment media, media reporting, learning media as well as promotional media and digital marketing]]>

<![CDATA[The background of this research is the occurrence of discrepancies or gaps between the competencies expected by the study program and the reality experienced by graduates of the Catholic Religious Education and Teaching study program in the world of work. This study aims to find out what gaps occur in graduates in facing the world of work and propose solutions that can be considered to minimize these discrepancies. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with survey techniques and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results found are that there are discrepancies in the aspect of alumni's mastery of English, ability to work under pressure, and ability to fulfill administrative tasks. Based on the results, it can be concluded that discrepancies or gaps that occur can be overcome by holding English days and mentoring, spiritual strengthening, and curriculum development sustainably.]]>

<![CDATA[This article aims at examining a fighting spirit that characterizes the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:21-28 as a source of inspiration for Christian education addressed to the youth. It focuses on her choice of actions and of words, especially shown in verses 25 and 27. In order to do so, it employs a narrative method that takes seriously every detail related to her performance. It tries to understand how her struggle emerges and why Jesus says that she has a great faith. After discussing the subject matter in several points, this article comes to a conclusion that the element of faith first of all lies on the human side, namely a fighting spirit, a spiritual entrance to receive God's mercy. Pope Francis states that a fighting spirit is visible when Christian believers, especially young people "always try to find their true identity, be themselves, and be creative in pursuing holiness in living life in the world. (CV, art. 161)”. The second theological message is that God understands and cares for everyone, especially those who ask for His help. The third theological message is that God's grace gives changing for everyone. It means that God's grace makes our identity in life more pleasing to Him]]>

<![CDATA[In the scriptures it is clear that Mary was chosen by God to conceive and give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. This special role is both a gift and a task that Mary received in the complete obedience of faith. She listens to the word of God and carries it out with the spirituality of the servant and disciple. Many studies on Mary highlight aspect of motherhood and servant spirituality. Meanwhile, the dimension of Mary's discipleship has received less attention. So this research explores the spirit of Mary’s discipleship in the texts of the scriptures. The aspect of Mary's discipleship is then reviewed for its relevance to today’s followers of Christ (disciples). The bibliography method was used in this research process to find and formulate a synthesis of Mary's discipleship as an inspiration for Church discipleship.The results of the research show that Mary was not only a mother of Jesus and a spiritual mother for Christ’s followers, but also a true disciple, and a role model of discipleship for Church in all ages.]]>

<![CDATA[The development of the Church as an organism demands active participation and cooperation between clergy and laity. The purpose of this article is to introduce Basic Ecclesiastical Community (KBG) as a model of church life which is a place for the involvement of the laity in collaboration with the clergy. This article was written using qualitative research methods with a focus on literature studies in the form of books and scientific journal articles according to the themes reviewed. The results of the literature study in this article confirm several important things. First, the model of church life through KBG empowerment can minimize the tendency of clerical feudalism. Pastoral officers (clergy) must act as facilitators, not rulers who authoritatively regulate church life. Second, KBG makes the implementation of participatory and contextual pastoral works effective. Participatory pastoral work means involving as many people as possible in planning, implementing, and evaluating pastoral activities, while contextual pastoral work means pastoral work that departs from a particular context and must respond to the context. Third, the spirit of a shepherd's life smelling of sheep plays an important role for the realization of participatory and contextual pastoral work.]]>

<![CDATA[In 2021 YOUCAT Indonesia held a catechesis activity known as the Study Group. In its implementation, the Study Group uses a method known as the know, share, meet, express (KSME) method. What are the views of the Study Group participants on the KSME method? The purpose of the research is in its implementation, the Study Group uses a method called the know, share, meet, express (KSME) method. This study uses a qualitative method. To obtain research data, researchers used interview. Collecting research data is carried out both online and offline. Informants in this study are Study Group participants who have attended Study Group meetings at least 5 times. The results showed that the Study Group participants had a favorable view of the KSME method in catechesis. This is shown by the Study Group participants who being able to state the reasons why the Study Group that used the KSME method really helps participants to understand and live the Church's teachings. In addition, participants were able to mention the advantages possessed by the Study Group compared to other catechesis. Furthermore, the Study Group participants did not fail to provide suggestions on things that need to be improved so that the Study Group using the KSME method is getting better.]]>

<![CDATA[Basic Christian Community is a way of life for the Church of Christ's disciples in society. The community is present in the midst of society to live out and proclaim the Gospel of Christ for families and society through fellowship, worship, preaching, witnessing and community service. Many members and administrators of the community do not understand and appreciate well and deeply the nature of the Basic Christian Community. The research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the understanding of Basic Christian Community administrators regarding the nature of the community. The research was carried out using a quantitative approach, and the type of research was a survey. The research respondents consisted of the community administrators at the Santa Maria Ratu Damai Slahung Station, Ponorogo. The main variables of this research are the Basic Christian Community, the purpose and function of the community, community members and administrators, and the relationship between the parish and the community. The results of the research data analysis revealed that majority of respondents perceived that Basic Christian Community is the way of life for Christ's disciples in the Church. The results of the research data analysis also indicated that the community was formed with the aim of experiencing the 5 aspects of Church life (fellowship, worship, preaching, witnessing and community service) both in the family and society.]]>

<![CDATA[Religious and social conflict is a problem that often occurs in the world. This problem has caused many victims, both the dead and those who were traumatized. Indonesia is a country that experiences inter-religious and social conflicts as well. A number of bloody events have occurred in several places. The focus of this paper is responding to these events especially in a Christian context. This is a concern because a number of conflicts and victims also involve Christians. In the midst of Christian life with other religions and social diversity, efforts to build reconciliation and peace are the main targets to be discussed in this paper. The author uses the literature method in this article. Through various literature, the author explores the idea of reconciliation and offers several solutions, especially those that can be realized in the Indonesian context. This study invites anyone, especially members of the Church, to be involved in reconciliation in order to build peace in living together.]]>

<![CDATA[Character as a messenger is an important factor that must be present in students who are prospective Catholic religion teachers or catechists. In fact, coaching for students to have character is still very minimal. This research was conducted to obtain information regarding character building which is carried out through spiritual retreats and Catechical Spirituality courses. This study involved students as research subjects. The data collection process was carried out through observation, questionnaires, discussions, and interviews with students and heads of study programs. This research provides information that through spiritual retreats, students are fostered to be able to live the character of Christ; can build a relationship with God and others. Respondents felt that spiritual retreat activities were also very useful, namely at 83.1%. But not in Catechist Spirituality lectures. According to the students, lectures are only theoretical and have no impact on increasing student awareness to live the character of Christ as a role model. Following up on the findings of this research, it is hoped that the study program will choose lecturers who are appropriate and competent and have experience as catechists not only in prohibiting theory but also being able to share their experience in creating.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of writing this article is to explain the pastoral counseling strategy made by Jesus for women who were caught committing adultery and also for the Pharisees. The main idea of this article is Jesus’ partiality towards women as a week group in the face of the domination of the patriarchal culture of Jewish society which was instrumentalized by scribes and Pharisees. Taking sides with the weak is a form of Jesus’ pastoral counseling strategy according to the Gospel of John 8:1-11. The method used in this article is descriptive analysis using a literature and Bible text approach, namely the Gospel of John 8:1-11 to obtain a comprehensive explanation of the pastoral counseling strategy practiced by Jesus as a counselor. The theory used in this work is Biblical pastoral counseling, namely a type of pastoral counseling that uses the Word of God as the main reference in dealing with problems faced by counselees. Through an analysis of the Gospel of John 8:1-11, it appears that Jesus did pastoral counseling by paying attention to the context experienced and lived by the counselee. A good introduction to the context of the counselee makes Jesus able to deal with the problems experienced by the counselee.]]>
