<![CDATA[This community service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in processing various kitchen spices into nutritious herbal drinks in an effort to maintain and increase family immunity during the Covid19 pandemic in Pasir Nan Tigo Village, Koto Tangah District, Padang City. The activity was carried out in the Pertapalah community showroom, Pasir Nan Tigo Village, Koto Tangah Subdistrict, Padang City and involved 14 participants. The activities were implemented in two stages, namely guided and independent activities. In the guided activities, interactive enlightment and experiment methods were done. In the independent activities, participants within groups did the practice of making drinks from spices. Results showed that the participants’ knowledge about spices and their processing to become nutritious spices improved. The participants were also interested in producing and consuming the spice drinks made.]]>

<![CDATA[The increasing number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia has prompted the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) to recommend online learning as an effort to reduce the spread of the virus. The use of new online learning technology is dominated by SMA / MA in big cities because of the financial capacity and availability of a digital learning system that is better than SMA / MA in remote areas. The problem currently faced is the unavailability of teaching materials oriented to the online learning process (e-learning) in accordance with the demands of the 2013 Curriculum and the ability of most educators to prepare teaching materials for independent online learning still needs to be improved. Therefore, community service training in the development / manufacture of teaching materials that is oriented to the guided inquiry learning model and applies three types of representation to express chemical ideas, so that the chemistry learning process produces three learning levels, namely symbolic representation, macroscopic and sub-microscopic, or molecular. <![CDATA[In West Bungus Village, there are abundant bananas and taro crops. So far, bananas and taro have not been processed into nutritious healthy food products with economic value. This condition becomes a problem that needs to be found as a solution. if bananas and taro can be processed further, the selling value will be higher. From the situation analysis, the people of West Bungus Village need to be equipped with the knowledge on how to process bananas and taro into healthy nutritious foods that have economic value. Banana and taro processing techniques can be applied through education and training on the application of Applied Chemistry. This activity has had a positive impact, which has increased the knowledge and skills of the people of West Bungus Village in processing bananas and taro into alternative food sources and nutritious foods that have marketable economic value.]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) service activity is to increase teacher competency in making learning media of ICT-based PowerPoint-iSpring with emphasis on three levels of representation. The method of PKM was lectures, demonstrations and workshops. The lecture and demonstration methods were used to deliver the topics i.e ICT and internet terminology, three levels representation and 21st century learning, making learning media of PowerPoint-iSpring, using Camtasia software. The practice includes quick tricks of editing images from ebooks, google image, video learning and transferring them to PowerPoint-iSpring learning media.Workshops were to make PowerPoint-iSpring media accompanied by videos of learning, animation of chemical, physical and biological concepts. This activity can improve the knowledge and skills of chemistry teachers using standard chemistry, physics and biology e-books, videos of learning and animation from internet. This community service activities can improve the knowledge and skills of chemistry teachers in integrating a variety of learning resources that can be used to create ICT-based PowerPoint-iSpring with emphasizing on three levels of representation]]>

<![CDATA[The abundance of marine wealth in West Sumatra has not been maximally utilized even though the pattern of community fish consumption in West Sumatra has been declared to have increased in the last 10 years. This is caused by several factors such as inadequate management of the empowerment of marine and fisheries potentials, limited fishing and processing technology, and dependence on climate in Indonesia. Bungus is one of the areas in Padang City that has quite high fisheries resources. The composition of landed fish species is generally dominated by large pelagic species such as tuna, skipjack, cob, black stick and so on. Existing fishery products in the Kelurahan Bungus Barat include fresh fish and frozen fish. Non-export quality fresh fish products are distributed for public consumption in West Sumatra and the surrounding area. Export quality fish products are distributed to Japan and America. Based on the results of a questionnaire analysis to respondents in the West Bungus area, the conclusion obtained is that the community has a good pattern of fish consumption because of public awareness of fish nutrition besides the potential of the home industry of processed fish products in the Bungus Barat Village is also quite high because it is supported by the government and abundance of fish in the area.]]>

<![CDATA[Kataping, Batang Anai District, Padang Pariaman Regency is a suitable area for growing coconut. Coconut fruit has been used mostly for ingredients cook. Whereas this coconut fruit can be made the Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) which is beneficial for health and also has antiviral properties. Therefore, the people of Ketaping, Batang Anai District, Padang Pariaman Regency need to be equipped with knowledge and skill to process the coconut fruit into Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) which is used as an antiviral functional food product that can be consumed by families by attending a training. The activity carried out was the delivery of material by the resource person then continued with the direct practice of making Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). This activity has a positive impact which can increase public knowledge about VCO, its benefits, and how to make it.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia faces the biggest challenge in education. The problem is teachers have not used IT in learning. Teachers in partner schools still maintain conventional learning so interactive training in teaching material is needed. The training was about using the Kvisoft Flipbook Maker (KFM) application to prepare students to compete in science and technology. By using the KFM program, teaching materials become more interesting because they are equipped with animations and videos that can increase student interest in learning. This paper explains about training activities and produces digital teaching materials. Partners in this activity were the teachers at SMAN 2 Palembayan. The implementation method used consists of four activities, namely: preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, as well as analysis and reporting.]]>

<![CDATA[Chemistry Teacher association of Pesisir Selatan district needs a workhop regarding to develop HOTS intrument since they still questioning the correct way to do HOTS evaluation. Therefore, community service team of Chemistry Department conducted a workshop to improve pedagogy competency particularly in HOTS evaluation. This workhop was implemented via zoom meeting by giving explanation about evaluation and revised Bloom Taxonomy for knowledge domain. It continued workshop to develop HOTS evaluation that started by interpreting Basic Competences (BC) to competence achivement indicator (CAI), the CAI to HOTS question indicators and develop the HOTS question through on job learning. The team assessed the result and discussed it with the teachers. They revised the mistakes and the team compile it to be the HOTS question bank. <![CDATA[The ability to think critically and the ability to think creatively are two important things in mathematics. These two skills are the focus of learning in the 21st century to prepare students for the challenges of the future. For this reason, it is necessary to provide training for teachers so that they can prepare their students to have these two abilities. For this reason, the team through the community partnership program (PKM) carries out activities to train teachers to be able to design lessons that can improve students' critical and creative thinking skills. The mechanism for implementing PKM activities is carried out using action research steps. In the action phase for the first activity, the teachers will be introduced to critical and creative thinking skills. They are also given examples of learning activities that can improve critical and creative thinking skills by integrating the use of technology such as geogebra software in learning and implementing learning activities into geogebra classrooms. The designed activity will be implemented in schools with the guidance of the PKM team and jointly evaluated in a focus group discussion (FGD) with mathematics MGMP teachers in West Sumatra. The teachers felt an increase in their ability to design lessons, especially by using the geogebra application and being able to implement it into a geogebra classroom.]]>

<![CDATA[Dalam rangka membangun kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa melalui peningkatan profesionalitas guru-guru yang terhimpun dalam wadah MGMP IPA kota Payakumbuh, telah dilakukan kegiatan dalam bentuk Program Kemitraan Masyarakat berupa pelatihan dan praktek kegiatan Lesson Study dari tanggal 7 September sampai 12 Oktober 2019 dengan 3 kegiatan yaitu : Sosialisasi hakekat kemamapuan berfikir kritis, pelatihan penerapan pembelajaran IPA dengan pendekatan Saintifik, serta sosialisasi dan implementasi kegiatan lesson study. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh pada selama dan pada akhir kegiatan mennyimpulkan bahwa dengan pelatihan penerapan pendekatan saintifik melalui kegitan lesson study ternyata dapat membangun learning community guru dalam wadah MGMP IPA SMP, di kota Payakumbuh yang terindikasi dari semakin meningkatnya kualitas persepsi guru terhadap pembelajaran IPA, pendekatan saintifik serta lesson study. Hasil pengamatan juga menunjukkan terjadi perubahan kemampuan berfikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa menjadi lebih baik.]]>
