Abstract

This study aims to know the understanding of the Ahl al-Kitab and neighborly relationships and how the Hadith of the Prophet (s) views and regulates the neighboring relationship between a Muslim and the Ahl al-Kitab. This research is qualitative descriptive research, with lafzi and thematic methods (mawdlu'i). The results showed that the Ahl al-Kitab was a very distinctive and special term and call that God used to speak to Jews and Christians. Neighborly relations are one form of social ties that have an important position in Islamic Shariah. The scope of neighbors is unlimited and bound only to religious boundaries, lines of righteousness and the principle of benefit, but is returned to 'urf, and not to a certain number. As a neighbor, an Ahl al-Zimmah deserves good treatment, the right not to be disturbed, the right to be understood with patience when making a mistake, and the right to obtain protection of himself and his property.

Abstract

This paper discusses how the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School understands the hadiths of Rukyatu al-Hilāl and the practice of Rukyatu al-Hilāl in the field using a thematic hadith approach. The author traces the hadiths about Rukyatu al-Hilāl and there are several versions. This article discusses, How is the understanding of the hadiths of Rukyatu al-Hilāl? What is the reason that the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School in South Aceh did not follow the decision of the Government about Itsbāt? How Rukyatu al-Hilāl in Darussalam Islamic Boarding School is practiced. The results showed that the understanding of the traditions of Rukyatu al-Hilāl according to the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, was first understood by the al-Quran approach, the second understood by the thematic hadith approach, and the third understood by the atsar.

Abstract

Muhammad Yasin al-Fadani as a Nusantara cleric through the book Al-Arba'un Haditsan min Arba'in Kitaban 'an Arba'ina Shaykhan, has contributed to the study of hadith. The aims of this research are: first, to discuss the biography of Sheikh Yasin al-Fadani. Second, discussing the scientific journey of knowledge, looking for his sanad. Third, how is the process of compiling the book Al-Arba'un Haditsan min Arba'in Kitaban 'an Arba'ina Shaykhan. Fourth, the hadith of the curse of Muawiyah and the syarah of Sheikh Yasin al-Fadani in the book of Al-Arba'un Hadith min Arba'in Kitaban 'an Arba'ina Shaykhan. This type of research is library research sourced from articles and books related to the discussion about Sheikh Yasin al-Fadani and refers directly to the book of hadith written by Sheikh Yasin al-Fadani. This study concludes that in the view of Sheikh Yasin al-Fadani that the hadith allegedly containing curses to Muawiyah must be understood as part of the Arab tradition, so it is not understood that the Prophet intended to curse Muawiyah.

Abstract

G.H.A Juynboll is an orientalist figure of skepticism who is popular as the developer of the common link theory initiated by Joseph Schacht. Juynboll claims that the validity of his theory can replace conventional hadith study methods which he deems irrelevant to be used to research the authenticity of hadith. Various responses have come from other hadith scholars questioning the validity and performance of the theory in determining the authenticity of hadith. The common link itself is the oldest narrator term in the isnad file which is considered the most responsible for passing on hadith to more than one student. Azami as one of the scholars of hadith who strongly criticizes this theory says that Juynboll only has his imagination in developing thetheory common link. In response to this, Juynboll tries to provide his arguments to strengthen thetheory common link by explaining the working principle of the theory and its logical reasons, then he provides a comparison between the common link and the conventional method in studying hadith from its various aspects in order to conclude which theory which is more suitable for use in researching a hadith.

Abstract

Hadith which is the second source of Islamic law also has problems, there are contradictory hadiths that are outwardly contradictory, including the hadith about ablution where ablution is important worship that completes other worships. This paper aims to map several contradictory hadiths about ablution and describe the method of solving it according to Imam aṣ-Ṣanʻānī. The results of this study indicate that there are several contradictory hadiths about ablution, such as about the number and the way of wiping the head, and things that abrogate ablution. The methods used by Imam aṣ-Ṣanʻānī in resolving these contradictory hadiths mostly use the compromise method and use the tarjih method also. Comparisons with other classical scholars' solving methods are also discussed.

Abstract

Many figures in the field of Hadith science, including contemporary hadith figures, who tries to do an in-depth study. One who is considered as a prominent hadith figure in this modern age is al-Albani. In several of his books, al-Albani applies several methods that are considered by some to be new methods. One of Al-Albani's phenomenal books, Irwā al-Galīl fī Manār al-Sabīl, has become a reference for scholars who studies him. This study focuses on Al-Albani's method in determining status of rawi in the book Irwā al-Galīl fī Manār al-Sabīl. Using the qualitative method, within the framework of the design of the critique of Al-Albani's work. This study examines 2,707 hadiths contained in the book. This study finds that Al-Albani in the book often shows an inconsistent attitude in determining the status of a hadith rawi. The form of this inconsistency is found in the changing attitudes of Al-Albani in determining the status of several narrators, including Al-Sa'q bin Hazn, 'Aqil bin Mudrik, Mujja'ah bin Al-Zubair, Harun bin Antarah, 'Amr bin Malik, and 'Amr bin Abd Al-Rahman. From the results of the research found, a general conclusion can be drawn, that Al-Albani at Irwā al-Galīl fī Manār al-Sabīl still shows an inconsistent attitude, especially in determining the status of a narrator.

Abstract

This article examines one of the social problems in society which is currently a global issue, namely body shaming behavior. Body shaming behavior is an act of commenting, criticizing or bullying someone's physical (body condition) with the aim of humiliating, because the physical condition of the individual is considered not in accordance with the applicable body image standards and deserves to be commented on. This study examines the behavior of body shaming from the perspective of the hadith. This study seeks to find a correlation between body shaming behavior described in the hadith and explores the preventive actions offered from Islamic perspective. The method used is qualitative-descriptive through library research. The results of this study are 1). Hadith narrated by Tirmidhi: 2502 in general explains how the prophet's view of body shaming behavior is. 2). The meaning of the hadith content in it is an invitation to stay away from body shaming behavior. 3). Impact on victims of body shaming behavior in a psychological perspective. 4). Preventive actions offered to prevent body shaming behavior.
