Abstract

This research is the process of designing sling bag street feeding activities intended for the Bandung feed not bomb community at the age of 20-25 years. This research is based on the needs and opportunities due to cat overpopulation and the issue of welfare of abandoned animals that occur in Indonesia resulting in the emergence of the movement to care for abandoned animals. Based on data taken in the community feed not bomb Bandung street feeding activities are one of the alternatives that can be done to help the welfare of cats, but when the activity takes place street feeders to have difficulty bringing the needs of street feeding activities. The purpose of this research is to produce a sling bag product design that can organize luggage, make it easier for users, and must have good durability. The resulting design has a novelty value offered, namely sling bag devoted to the use of street feeding activities because there is no special bag to support these activities. The design process is carried out through the design thinking process approach and at the end of the process is produced a prototype design is tested on street feeding activities. Abstract

This research is the process of designing an educational toy product regarding environmentally friendly alternative energy for the SIMARGI (Education Saving Energy) community "Earth Hour Bandung" activity for elementary school. This research is motivated by the need for the "Earth Hour Bandung" community which has SIMARGI program activities, this activity is an activity to introduce and educate about the environment and energy to kindergarten children aged 4-5 years to college teenagers aged 21-23 years. In this design, elementary school becomes a case study of the problem because elementary schools are the largest contributors to participants. The author also found the problems experienced by the "Earth Hour Bandung" community so that the authors and parties from the community discussed to analyze the problems and find solutions. From the results of the discussion, the community has a problem, namely that it still needs the right learning media in order to help elementary school children better understand the material provided by the community, therefore the right product is needed to help run SIMARGI activities at elementary school. The design process was carried out through a design thinking process approach and thus resulted in the design of educational toys for the “Earth Hour Bandung” community when carrying out SIMARGI activities in elementary schools.

Abstract

During the 2019 Coronavirus disease (hereinafter referred to as “COVID-19”) pandemic in 2020, many human activities have become limited, such as shopping for daily necessities. As a result, humans need products that can help carry out their activities in the midst of a pandemic. This study discusses the process of designing a cleaning tool that can be used before entering the home environment to prevent the virus from being carried from items exposed to the outside environment. This research is motivated by the need for a cleaning tool that can prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus from items brought from outside the home. The products that are cleaned include shoes, electronic devices, and groceries purchased either through independent or online purchases. The purpose of this research is to produce a chamber design that can clean groceries and consumables quickly without damaging the packaging or products to be cleaned. The resulting design has a novelty value that is offered, namely a goods cleaning system using steam that can clean products from COVID-19 droplets. There is a theoretical basis used in the research, namely the use of disinfectants and antiseptics as a way to prevent the COVID-19 virus in housing. The design objectives were achieved through an online literature study analysis process accompanied by interviews and proofing the feasibility of the tools used with the Double Diamond design method. At the end of the process, a design is produced in the form of a final sketch and a 3D model of the disinfectant equipment brought from outside the house.

Abstract

A cabinet is a storage that is considered effective and efficient because apart from being useful as a place to store various items, it adds aesthetic value to a space. The high demand for land for housing has led to vertical flats, like apartments. An apartment with a studio type has simply one room, where the only space with a section is in the bathroom. In this type of apartment, furniture with optimal function is needed because the space in a studio apartment is very minimal but still compact to maximize every available space. Multifunctional furniture is suitable for studio-type apartments because it has more value in both ergonomics and economics. This design creates a multifunctional cabinet with a retro theme suitable for residential needs with relatively limited space. It has various functions as a storage for cutlery needs and can transform into a dining table set equipped with folding stools for 2-4 people. The design used the four-phase Design Thinking method in the Double Diamond model, such as discover, define, develop, and deliver. The methods used in the design are qualitative and quantitative data analysis using questionnaires, documents, and literature studies.

Abstract

There are two types of catfish feed, namely pellets and vegetable feed. Vegetable waste can be used as catfish feed because it still contains the nutrients needed by catfish. Processing vegetable waste into catfish feed consists of several processes, including sorting, washing, chopping, drying, mixing, and forming. Currently, vegetable feed is still made manually with simple tools so that it takes a long time to process, especially for small-scale catfish breeders. The existing pellet-processor is still on an industrial scale which is not suitable for small-scale catfish breeders. The data were obtained from field surveys and interviews. The data were analyzed through the research board analysis method. The results of the analysis become a flow scheme for making feed with the designed tools. The design process includes configuration studies, anthropometric and ergonomic studies, and physical form conducted through analytical prototyping methods. The success of the product is evaluated through a comparison of several variables related to product functions between existing products/tools and the designed product. The design results show an increase in the productivity of making pellets from vegetable waste but the washing and sorting process cannot be accommodated by the tool. Keywords: pellets processor, vegetable waste, catfish breeder
