Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi media sosial telah merambah ke segala bidang kehidupan mulai dari bidang ekonomi, bisnis, hiburan, pendidikan, dan budaya. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa kebutuhan manusia terhadap media informasi seperti internet semakin maju dan berkembang. Sehingga perannya pun semakin meluas dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran media sosial dalam pelestarian budaya daerah dengan menggali cara Disbudpar Kabupaten Bantul dalam memfasilitasi proses pendistribusian informasi mengenai seni dan budaya serta isi kekayaan alam yang ada di Kabupaten Bantul. Penulisan menggunakan pendekatan studi literatur dan studi data dari jaringan elektronik yang dijadikan sumber informasi utama dari penelitian ini. Selain itu, penulis juga mengembangkan data-data dan informasi yang ada dari sumber tersebut dengan menambahkan informasi lanjut yang berdasarkan pada pengamatan dan pengembangan ide dari materi yang sudah ada. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan media sosial berperan penting dalam pelestarian budaya daerah di Kabupaten Bantul. Media sosial website digunakan sebagai laman oleh Disbudpar Kabupaten Bantul untuk menginformasikan kegiatannya dalam melestarikan budaya daerah yang ada seperti seni, budaya dan alam wilayah seisinya. Informasi yang disampaikan Disbudpar lewat media sosial antara lain jadwal kegiatan, hasil kegiatan baik bentuk foto maupun vidio. Dengan kemajuan di bidang teknologi media sosial ini diharapkan sebagai alternatif upaya promosi dan melestarikan budaya daerah dan dimanfaatkan pula untuk hal yang positif.

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang sebuah rubrik perempuan, bernama Sinar Iboe, dalam sebuah pers lokal di Kalimantan Barat yang terbit pada tahun 1928.Pembahasan difokuskan pada gagasan yang mengemuka dalam rubrik dan fungsi rubrik tersebut dalam periode pergerakan nasional. Untuk mengungkapnya, digunakan metode penelitian seiarah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gagasan yang mengemuka dalam 'Sinar Iboe'berbeda aengan rubrik perempuan lain yang muncul selama periode pergerakan nasional di Kalimantan Barat. Pada rubrik 'Sinar Iboe', perempuan lebih dibicarakan dalam peranannya di ranah publik, seperti dalam organisasi sosial, pendidikan, dan kesehatan.

Abstract

This study aims to looks at character education which is a part of mental revolution which contains elements of education, character development, nationalism, and ethics. It also look at the teacher, who is the central figure in education and is always associated with the formation of character development. National education which is based on the Law on National Education (No. 20/ 2003) aims to develop the learners' potential and shape their character in order that they become individuals who are devotedly pious to God Almighty, healthy, proficient, knowledgeable, creative, independent, as well as to become responsible and democratic citizens. So that, eventually the learners can contribute to build a dignified civilization and nation. According to Lickona, character education is a deliberate attempt to help a person so as to understand, pay attention, and perform core ethical values, including values in national education. The data of this qualitative research were drawn from library research, observation, practice teaching, and in-depth interviews with related respondents. The results of this study indicate that the relation between teachers and character education refers to the functional structural theory of Robert K. Merton. His theory indicates that members and the body cannot be separated. Strategies to implement character education can be executed through: (I) providing a real model, (2) inculcating discipline, (3) establishing conducive atmosphere, (5) integrating and internalizing.

Abstract

In globalization era, regional culture that related to the tradition through a difficult phase. The reason that made this thing happen is the explosion of internet media. Internet— either social media or social networking— would be central position to internalizing an influence on society. Not only the society was silenced, various agencies or group from local culture was using internet as their preservation ways. Starting with internet and blogs, to use social networks, such as: facebook, instagram, etc, to promote the preservation that they did. According from displacement of preservation medium, I saw that this thing isn't about change, but there is a negotiation that was created by the group— which they are from tradition culture— with signs on globalization. So, in this article, I would like to discuss about negotiations. Because the internet nearly with media studies, so I try to understand about that negotiation with mediatization theory. I used two methods to answer the question, literate study ana explore media in internet. The results were interesting, negotiations are conducted in shaping patterns of us is different from before. As a result that I got, I hope this article can help the reader to understand the changes and can be maintained the essence of tradition preservation.

Abstract

Social media has been rapidly developing. It can be used in various fields, such as government, education, and traditional performing art. This study looks at how social media is utilized to support ketoprak a traditional play that is still living in the society. The data were collected from library research and from interviews with resource persons who know about the past history of ketoprak. The analysis was based on the concept of tradition by Shil and collective conscience by Durkheim.

Abstract

This research looks at the process of delivering propaganda by the dalangs (puppeteers) in Wayang Kulit performances in Central Java in 1986-1998. Using mass communication approach and theories, this research has revealed that the dalangs were co-opted by the government when they deliver the New Order Government's messages to their audience. The Government's strong efforts to cast its political propaganda through the dalangs were so obvious after the 30th September Movement. As a result, there were changes in the concepts of wayang kulit performance. The dalangs very often delivered the Government messages both implisitly or explicitly. These messages are delivered through janturan (narration), ginem (dialogue), gending (music), limbukan (interlude scene between a mother and her daughter), and gara-gara (clown scene). However, this condition hadencouraged the dalangs' creativity to compose new stories, modify stories, and compose songs which tell about national development.

Abstract

Using hermeneutical approach, this qualitative research looks at the values embedded in the exemplary characters of Sheik Akhmad Mutamakkin. The data were drawn from the Kajen text. The result shows that Sheikh Akhmad Mutamakkin has applied eclectic and conformative methods of Sufism. He has blended Islamic tradition and local tradition (Java). Therefore, he cannot be categorized as misguided ulama so that there is no need to revise any writings about him. The conclusion of this study can also be used as a negation that Sheikh Akhmad Mutamakkin is not a heretic. The reason why he is said as heretical in Serat Cebolek is caused by political factors and ideological conflict between puritan Islam and eclectic Islam that accomodates Javanese traditions.

Abstract

Referring to the social conditions seen via social media today, this study has two research questions: 1) Are control and supervision needed for school age children using mobile phones?; and 2) Who are the right persons who would control them and provide the supervision? Using Malinowsky's functional approach, this research draw the data from observation and interviews from two schools in Yogyakarta. The results of the study indicate that school age children should be controlled in using mobile phones and this would be the responsibility of parents, elder member in the family, and teachers.

Abstract

Tulisan ini merupakan hasil penelitian etnografi dengan menggunakan perspektif historis antropologis. Secara komprehensif artikel ini menelaah tentang; 1) Makna panjhak bagi masyarakat Madura di Situbondo; 2). Peran panjhak sebagai agen pengembang karakter budaya di Situbondo, serta 3) Relasi antara panjhak dengan masyarakat Madura di Situbondo. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa dalam konteks masyarakat Madura di Situbondo, panjhak dimaknai sebagai figur yang mewakili tokoh 'ghuru'. Ia mampu mengartikulasikan nilai religiusitas dan sosial kepada masyarakat. Panjhak dan masyarakat merupakan suatu jalinan relasi dialektik yang mampu membangun dan mengembangkan karakter budaya di Situbondo. Panjhak menjalankan peran pentingnya sebagai agen pengembang karakter budaya melalui refleksi dan konstruksi identitas kultural dalam karya seni pertunjukan yang bersifat estetik dan simbolik.

Abstract

This article aims to explain Ali Shari'ati's concept about rusyanfikr. It is an idea that through pesantren a Kiai should be able to produce revolutionary Muslim intellectuals and he is supposed to be on the side of the oppressed ummah. This is possible because there is a patronage relation between a Kiai and his santris in which a Kiai has hegemony over the mindset of his santris. With strong patronage it is expected that a Kiai can encourage santris to become rusyanfikrs, that is, those who can find the truth in their community. Using the concept of rusyanfikr, it is expected that there is a new paradigm of how an intellectual should truly behave. As a central figure in the society, a Kiai has the same characteristics with a rusyanfikr, that is, someone who is born and grow in his'society’ so that a Kiai can no longer ignore the problems of his ummah.
