Epidemiology: covers all aspects of epidemiology and public health. The journal mainly publishes original research articles but also welcomes reviews covering applied, methodological and theoretical issues with an emphasis on studies using multidisciplinary or integrative approaches.

Abstract

Background: The Lower Limb is the body prone to pain and injuries due to prop up the overall weight. Acupuncture is an eastern medicine with stabbing needles on the specific surface area of the body that can cause analgesic effects. Acupressure massage therapy development emphasizes acupuncture points that increase the saturation of oxygen and cause muscle relaxation effects. Our study aimed to identify the influence of acupuncture and acupressure therapy against a decline in the lower limb pain sufferers' pain level. Subject and method: The study was conducted in February-March In Dukuh Duwetan, Village Jumantono, district Ngunut, Karanganyar Regency. The sample of the research taken is 30 farmers, both men, and women, aged 30-50 years have lower limb pain complained during and after work. This research is a pre-experimental design with One Group pretest-posttest with a 30 community Dukuh Duwetan meets the criteria of inclusion. The data collected is the primary data with the recording and assessment of the results of the action. Statistical tests using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon. Result: There is a decreasing scale of pain in lower limb pain sufferers community Dukuh Duwetan with the value of the Wilcoxon test p = 0.00 < 0.05. Conclusion: The presence of acupuncture and acupressure therapy were influence against downturn lower limb pain.

Abstract

Introduction: The existence of communication media and the development of technology, communication, and information that increase rapidly made it easier to spreading pornography content. A survey stated that every year, there are 72 million visitors to a pornography website. Every second, 28.000 internet users see pornography content. Two-third pornography consumers on the internet are men and the rest are women. Group of age 12-17 years old are the biggest pornography consumer on the internet. Narkolema (Drugs Through The Eye) is pornography that was seen by someone that have addictive effect and damage potential just as junkies. The damage that was suffered because of pornography addiction is the damage of the prefrontal cortex (PFC). The prefrontal cortex is functioned as consideration and decision making central and as personality former.Purpose: To give the extension for adolescents about narkolema so they will know about narkolema.Extension Method: Held a lecture for adolescents about narkolema by first held a pretest, then after the extension had done, the posttest was held to know the effect from the given extension.Extension Result: The extension about narkolema for adolescents was held by first held a pretest, then the posttest was held after the extension. There was an increase in the adolescents’ knowledge about narkolema.Conclusion: There was a positive effect of the extension of narkolema toward the adolescents’ knowledge of narkolema.

Abstract

Background: Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is the most common health problem reported by adolescents. The main contributing factors of PMS are due to the imbalance of work of the hormones estrogen and progesterone’s as well as changes in serotonin levels. Approximately 30-80% of women experience mood or somatic disorders (or both) that occur during the menstrual cycle. The WHO (World Health Organization) report explains that PMS symptoms are experienced in 65.7 of young women. Due to lack of knowledge can decrease the quality of life of adolescents. So the knowledge about PMS is needed for young women to be ready to face the PMS.Purpose: Improving young women's knowledge of PMS.Method: The provision of PMS material was done by lecture method and leaflet giving. The object of devotion was young women. Before the counseling being given, young women took pre-tests, later conducted post-tests to evaluate the knowledge related to PMS. Result: Counseling on PMS had been conducted. There was an increased in young women's knowledge of Premenstrual Syndrome. T-test results obtained significance value of 0.000 (p<0.005).Conclusions and Suggestions: Counseling has a positive effect on young women's knowledge, especially about PMS. Pkd Wonorejo midwives should be able to provide regular counseling for young women.  For the young women, after the counseling obtained results that can increase knowledge about PMS thus that it is expected to be better prepared to face the PMS

Abstract

Background: Anxiety is a common response to any stressful situation. Pregnant women are more likely to catch viral illnesses, and the Coronavirus can cause stress and anxiety in pregnant women in different parts of the world. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on maternal anxiety during pregnancy.Method: Systematic review using the database: Google Scholar. The search results that meet the criteria are then analyzed for articles.Result: The saturation of mass media and social media with news related to COVID-19 and the dissemination of information in it provides a climate of fear, uncertainty and anxiety, about the present and the future. This will be magnified for pregnant women today who, even without a pandemic, generally pregnant women experience feelings of uncertainty and anxiety related to childbirth, childbirth, the presence of a baby and the care of a newborn.Conclusion: Pregnant women have a greater psychological impact as well as higher anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Identification of pregnant women who are at high risk of anxiety that occurs during the Covid-19 pandemic is important so that health workers can suggest early psychological intervention and prevent some complications related to stress in pregnancy.

Abstract

Background: Autism is a complex developmental disorder associated with communication, social interaction and imagination activity. Until now, the exact cause of autism has not been found, but several studies have found that autism is caused by viruses such as Rubella, Toxoplasmosis and the Morbili and Rubella (MMR) vaccine. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of play therapy on communication and social development in autistic children,Subjects and Methods: The research design used quasi-experimental design with one group pre and post-test design. The play therapy activity was in the form of forming a play group with 19 respondents with the therapist as a facilitator. The study was conducted in Febuary-March 2020. The statistical test technique that used in this study was the Paired T Test.Results: The communication and social development of autistic children before 2 months of receiving play therapy had an average value of 4.67 and the communication and social development of autistic children after 2 months of receiving play therapy had an average value of 7.2. Based on the results of data analysis using the Paired T Test, it was obtained p = 0.001 (p < 0.05) so Ho is rejected and it is proven that there is an effect between giving play therapy and communication and social development in autistic children.Conclusion: There is an influence between play therapy on improving communication and social development in autistic children. The average post-test score is greater than the average pre-test value, proving that play therapy can improve communication and social development in autistic children.

Abstract

Background: The outbreak of Covid-19 virus in various countries has caused a lot of very significant changes. This Covid-19 outbreak has had profound impact on various aspects of life, from an economic, political, social perspective, and especially in terms of public health, especially in Indonesia. The symptoms caused by the Covid-19 virus are not only focused on physical health, but also affect psychological health. Goal: To prove that mental health affects immunity system.Methods: Systematic review.Result: The lower positive attitude, lack of social support, poor strategies in reducing the spread of virus, working with Covid-19 infected patient, causes high levels of stress. Conclusion: Prolonged stress and anxiety is decreasing body’s immune respons, thus making the body susceptible to disease. Abstract

Introduction: In this globalisation era, healthiness becomes a precious thing, especially on reproduction health that becomes worldwide attention. Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) stated 15,2% of 118 million women in Indonesia has entered the menopause period. According to the beginning survey of 10 premenopausal women, only 2 women knew menopause symptoms signs.Purpose: To analyze the correlation of the knowledge about menopause with the readiness ahead of menopause for premenopausal women.Subject and Method: The research was quantitative analytics with a cross-sectional design. The research was located in RT 02 RW 23 Wonorejo, Karanganyar. The population of the research was premenopausal women of PKK Dahlia members. The research used simple random sampling with 30 women as the samples. The data was collected by questionnaire and observation sheet. Data analysis was carried out computerized using the SPSS 20.0 program with Chi-Square statistical test.Results: There were 66,7% (20 respondents) that have high knowledge about facing menopause and there were 60% (18 respondents) that ready to face menopause. The statistic test using chi-square resulted in p-value = 0.045 (p<0.05), which means there was a correlation of the knowledge about menopause with the readiness ahead of menopause for premenopausal women.Conclusion: There was a correlation of the knowledge about menopause with the readiness of menopause for premenopausal women.

Abstract

Background: At a vulnerable age they continue to smoke, if they do not apply PHBS (Healthy and Clean Living Behavior), the degree of health in the elderly will decrease and the diseases caused by cigarettes will increase. To overcome this, health promotion is needed to increase elderly knowledge of the negative impact of cigarettes, substances contained in cigarettes, and change the mindset of the elderly about cigarettes.Destination: The purpose of this review literature is to analyze various perceptions of elderly active smokers about health promotion media.Method: This study used the method is literature review. The method used in searching research journal articles is  google scholar and garuda database. Keywords which used are “Media promkes”, “Precepts Active Smokers” and “Promkes”. We found 15 research journal articles with the year published from 2016 to 2021. At the time of the search process the research journal article authors found 21 research journal articles. Filtering is based on the suitability of topics, research methods, and the results of each journal article research.Results: Most indonesian people when looking at health promotion media in the form of images warning of the dangers of smoking arise various perceptions. As they perceived the image was just an engineering one, they perceived that the image was disgusting and frightening, and the picture warning of the dangers of smoking was not large enough.Conclusion: Electronic health promotion media such as, video on the dangers of smoking, short films on the dangers of smoking, true stories of former people with throat cancer, etc. are more effective than visual health promotion media in suppressing the percentage of smokers in Indonesia

Abstract

Background: Childbirth is an important event a waited by women. Some adjustments are needed by women in facing her new role as a mother. Psychological disorders that are often experienced by postpartum mothers are called postpartum blues. The incidence of postpartum blues abroad is quite high 26-85% and if this is not treated it will continue to be postpartum depression. The purposeuofithisrstudyuwasotoidetermineythearelationship between maternal characteristics and husband support with the risk of postpartum blues in the postpartum mothers.Design and method: The design of this study was cross-sectional analytics and was carried out at the East Denpasar Health Center I with a large sample of 30 respondents who visited the third to tenth day and met the inclusion criteria. The sampling technique of this research is accidental sampling. The independent variables in this study are the characteristics (age, education, occupation, parity), husband support and the dependent variable is the risk of postpartum blues. Data was collected using the Edinburgh Posnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) questionnaire and data analysis was carried out in stages including univariate and bivariate (chi square).Result: The results showed that most (73,3%) respondents did not experience symptoms of postpartum blues and almost half (26,7%) respondents experienced symptoms of postpartum blues. Bivariate results showed a significant relationship between education (p=0,00), parity (p=0,00), husband support (p=0,00) and the risk of postpartum blues.Conclusion: There is relationship between education, parity, husband support, and the risk of postpartum blues among postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Background: Nausea and vomiting occur in 60-80% of primigravidas and 40-60% in multigravidas. The survey results obtained from 36 pregnant women 21 pregnant women experiencing nausea and vomiting. The research objective was to determine the effect of lemon aromatherapy on the intensity of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester of the Clinic and RB Paramitra Medika 1 in 2020.Sample and method: The study design was pre-experimental research design (one group pre-test and post-test design). The sample of pregnant women who experience nausea and vomiting is 30 pregnant women by quota sampling. The instrument used was the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and the PUQE SCORE questionnaire using the Paired Samples T-test with a significant level of 0.05.Result: The results showed that the pre-test mean value was 7.97 and posttest was 5.7 with an average decrease in the nausea and vomiting scale of 2.3, the statistical test obtained the t value for nausea and vomiting= 6.643 and p=0.000, where p<0.05, then H1 is accepted.Conclusion: There is an effect of lemon aromatherapy on the intensity of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the first trimester at the Paramitra Clinic.
