Abstract

Bangko Bangko is a fishing village located in Bangko Bangko Bay, Batuputih Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. In the fishing village of Bangko-Bangko, only 60 families live, with a livelihood as fishermen and fishing. Because the position of the bay has sufficient waters, so many fish can be caught, especially tongkol. Around 200 fishing boats docked in Bangko Bangko Bay, with the catch in the form of tuna. The abundance of tuna catches resulted in a low price, 5 thousand per kg of fresh fish and 7.5 thousand for pindang fish per bamboo package containing 5 fish. The purpose of the service activities that have been carried out in August 2018 is to increase the selling price of tuna. The method of activity to increase the selling price of tongkol by processing it into smoked fish, using an environmentally friendly fish smoking device. As a result, the smoked fish produced has a more savory aroma, a distinctive smoke smell, so the price increases for packaging ranging from 12.5 to 15 thousand rupiah. Smoked fish is relatively more durable than fresh fish and pindang fish, so the distribution of sales reaches Mataram City. Other activity outputs are in the form of transfer of skills in manufacturing techniques and steps for implementing environmentally friendly fish smoking, as well as manuals on smoking fish techniques. The application of environmentally friendly fish smoking tools in this community service program can improve the welfare of the fishing village of Bangko Bangko and its surroundings.

Abstract

Facing the era of sophisticated technology, PT. Giri Wins Drinking Water (PERSODA) requires good management in the management of its services, such as billing and payment services. The information system used by billing and payment services is an android application-based system and web service. The android application is used by officers to make billing directly to the public. The web service is used by assistant managers to schedule officers to do billing, monitor officers, and make reports on billing results every day. The purpose of community service is to analyze the user experience and user interface in streamlining the features of the payment billing information system of PT. Giri Wins Drinking Water. The method used to analyze problems in community service is design thinking. Design thinking is a design methodology that is oriented to user needs by implementing technology to achieve needs so as to create design solutions that are right on target. From the analysis carried out, it is known that the system is still inefficient and can be maximized by adding payment features using QR scans on the android application and adding a dashboard page to the management website system. The results of the evaluation carried out by testing the prototype using the System Usability Scale (SUS) for billing applications obtained a score of 68.25 with an acceptability level, namely marginal hight, D value scale, and adjective rating category OK and for the billing and payment management website the score was equal to 71.75 with acceptability level that is acceptable, value scale C, and adjective rating in Good category. Analyzing the user experience and user interface in streamlining the features of the payment billing information system of PT. Giri Wins Drinking Water is very necessary to be precise and in accordance with user needs.

Abstract

Digital media can support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to increase brand awareness of their products, so they can gain competitive advantage and reach a wider market. However, not all MSME actors have the ability to use digital media to support their business. One of them is for SMEs in Sumberbulu Village, Probolinggo Regency. This Community Service is carried out with Zainul Hasan Islamic University students through the Community Service Program. The purpose of this program is to increase the knowledge and skills of MSMEs about creative digital marketing strategies and their understanding of the market so that they can create online stores for their businesses. The method of community service uses the ABCD (Asset-Based Community-driven Development) method. The result of this community service is that MSME actors in Sumberbulu Village are able to create online stores. So that they can promote their products through the marketplace and social media and ultimately increase their income. Through online stores, it is also possible for MSME actors in Sumberbulu Village to expand their market reach. In addition, the output of this community service activity is the design of MSME product packaging and websites. It can be concluded that in this program, in addition to implementing the tri dharma of higher education, this community service also helps government programs in encouraging MSME actors to be able to compete in the global market so that they can prosper the surrounding community.

Abstract

Farmers in the village yet are one of the producers of oyster mushrooms in Bali. The production of oyster mushrooms is carried out to open up business opportunities for those who currently do not have a job due to the impact of the covid 19 pandemic. The purpose of this service activity is to provide training and marketing assistance for oyster mushrooms both conventionally and online. The method of activities carried out by training and mentoring mushroom farmers is carried out in several stages, namely: The stage of service activities carried out to assist partners in solving problems are (1) Preparation of service activities; (2) Counseling and assistance with an emphasis on reducing the impact of Covid-19. The implementation of the activity begins with the preparation of materials and tools, then provides counseling/training on marketing strategies and packaging of oyster mushrooms. The results of the pre test show that 53.33% of the activity partners have known about online marketing but have not done marketing in that way. Marketing training includes packaging and trademarking of oyster mushroom packaging marketed by members. So that the training activities carried out to members of the farmer group there are changes in the skills possessed by the members of the farmer group later on in daily production and marketing activities. Activities carried out in the form of counseling and training. Counseling to members of the mushroom farmer group showed an increase in knowledge of 40% from before the training. Mastery of packaging skills shows that 100% of mushroom farmer members have skills in packaging mushroom products to be marketed. Mushroom marketing has not been optimal due to constraints in production and marketing that have not been resolved.

Abstract

Hajimena Village is part of the Natar District which is directly adjacent to the Bandar Lampung City area, so that garbage disposal also enters from Bandar Lampung. The introduction and application of the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principle or the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste is one of the approaches in waste management. Inorganic waste can be converted into handicrafts that can be sold, especially plastic waste can be or processed into paving blocks. The Department of Chemistry Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences University of Lampung, Community Service Team carried out community service activities aimed at increasing public awareness and participation in managing waste independently, reducing plastic waste and being a source of income for BUMDES. The activity of making paving blocks with variations of plastic waste, used oil, rice husks, and sand using simple technology and tools. The results of community service activities can be seen from the evaluation results in the form of measuring the achievement of specific instructional goals (ICT) from activities carried out using pre-test and post-test given to participants. The results show that there has been an increase in ICT for each participant after this service activity was carried out, it can be seen that each ICT has increased with an average increase of about 60.4%. This shows that public knowledge about plastic waste has increased significantly. So that the processing of plastic waste can be an opportunity to increase the income of the Hajimena village community.

Abstract

Financial literacy is one aspect of human life capital with regard to the basic ability to be able to make financial decisions appropriately and efficiently so that it has a positive impact on the welfare of individuals and their families. A large number of members of the lower classes of society, such as farmers, micro-entrepreneurs, and informal workers, are suspected to have inadequate financial literacy. Therefore, increasing financial literacy for them is strategic in order to realize equitable development outcomes for all. This community service aims to provide financial literacy training to 20 farmers in Karangbayan village, West Lombok district. The training method uses an adult learning approach, where the learning materials and processes provide active learning, problem solving, appropriate, and related to the emotional and living atmosphere of participants. The results of the activities include: increasing participants' knowledge and understanding of financial institutions and available financial products, the time value of money (inflation and interest rates), and family financial planning. Furthermore, it is also hoped that there will be an increase in the ability of participants in making financial decisions which is then followed by an increase in the efficiency of the use of financial resources of their families. The conclusion of the activity is that the training has succeeded in increasing the financial literacy of participants so that they are able to make better financial management decisions and have the potential to improve the economic welfare of their families.

Abstract

Purwasari village has an unutilized resources for aquaculture activities, such as ponds, water from agriculture irrigation, and human resources in farmer groups. Despite the high interest in aquaculture activities that the people have, the aquaculture activities are still limited by the lack of knowledge regarding the technical aspect of aquaculture. Besides, the high price of the fish feed also becomes a primary limiting factor. This community service aimed to increase the community empowerment of Purwasari village by Tambaqui fish and maggot culture, to increase the profitability and food security of Purwasari village during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. This activity was performed using a hybrid method, consisting of offline activities for the field survey, and controlling; online activities for distributing monthly questionnaires, and arranging a meeting between the university lecturer, speaker, and the villagers. This activity established a knowledge transfer from the university (Institut Pertanian Bogor) to the villagers. Based on the results of the questionnaire, this activity increased the knowledge, skill, number of members, and responsibility of the farmer group. Indicators of the physical improvement could be seen in the pond revitalization and infrastructure of the Tambaqui and maggot culture. This community service activity was applicable in Purwasari village and potentially increased the profitability and food security of Purwasari village during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

Abstract

The importance of knowing literacy on fertilizer packaging will give farmers the ability to examine fertilizers, their contents, and their intended use. Many problems occur in farming communities in Indonesia, it turns out that they are not able to understand the literacy that appears on the packaging of artificial fertilizers sold at fertilizer grocery. The cultivated center of corn r in West Pasaman is more focused on Sungai Aur District. Objective; to provide literacy education on the packaging of artificial fertilizers sold at fertilizer grocery in Sungai Aur District, West Pasaman Regency. The service activity began with a socialization event about the program of activities to be carried out, then a questionnaire was circulated to find out the understanding of literacy in the packaging of artificial fertilizers sold at fertilizer grocery. The participants consisted of 3 farmer groups including; The Mekar Abadi Farmers Group, then Harapan Sejahtera, and Karya Makmur, the number of participants was 25 people, the activity was carried out at the Mekar Abadi Farmer group's residence in May 2022. The socialization event was carried out starting by sending letters to agricultural extension groups in the area. Furthermore, the head of the farmer group and its members were invited to attend the event. From the results of the activity, it is known that the literacy understanding of farmers' fertilizer packaging was still low so farmers use fertilizers that are not optimal and efficient. In general, farmers did not get a good understanding of how to apply fertilizer, the right dose and dose are given to plants. Farmers also did not know and recognize illegal and fake fertilizers.

Abstract

Cengal District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency is a coastal area that has considerable fishery potential because it is surrounded by inland and coastal public waters. Difficult location access causes the distribution of fishery raw materials outside the region to be a constraint for the community considering the limited shelf life. The use of preservatives in fishery products such as formalin is often found in the market which is very dangerous if consumed by humans continuously in small quantities. This community service activity aims to provide information to the community through the role of students and teachers of Miftahul Ulum Private Madrasah Aliyah Sungai Lumpur about the dangers of consuming fishery products that contain harmful preservatives such as borax and formalin. This activity was carried out using the direct testing method of several fishery products involving students and teachers. Testing the content of formalin in fishery products is simple by using a formalin test kit. The test sample can be observed directly by changing the color of the chemical reaction of the test sample. The results of this activity directly increase students' knowledge about the dangers of consuming fishery products that contain ingredients that are harmful to health. In addition, students can physically distinguish fishery products that use hazardous materials and can directly test the hazardous content in fishery products. Through this community service activity, the community can reduce the use of hazardous materials as food preservatives and avoid consuming various processed fish products that are less healthy.
